  1. To be fair to the board, if they have something positive to communicate they usually do. Like many other boards in Scottish football there's no rush to go public with minor negatives. Communication could be better, but I see no conspiracy of concealment. OK, engagement with the fans isn't what they were used to, but over time that may improve,. On director Hamilton. I know nothing about him to give me cause for concern. His position despite the clumsy title he was given by the board, is director of football. I'd only be concerned if his relationship with the manager and the coaches was one of conflict rather than cooperation. I see no evidence of any problem there. For me the only really glaring omission on communication is any sort of mission statement on the future of the club. Perhaps that is a work in progress? There's not much point in making such a statement until you have formulated a plan to achieve it. I'm not seeing any sign of impending disaster. I am content with that after so much upheaval. In fact I am quite relieved.
  2. Ticketing was done without using a ticketing company, that's all I know, What methods or tech they used I do not know. Maybe it's still done without using a ticketing company and the rumour has no basis in fact. I doubt most fans will care about anything more than results on the pitch anyway. Results are real, rumours often aren't.
  3. Hilarious from the guy who kicked the whole discourse on lack of communication off. You really are a hoot.
  4. People already had that option to pay, but without any middle man involved. If that's changed and as far as I'm concerned it remains an if, it's hardly sensational, but it is deserving of communication on why it was changed and any benefit on balance. That is the thrust of posts recently, communication rather than rumour.
  5. I can well believe the fee got inflated as it made it's way from one set of ears to the next. It could all be bollocks. That's why some communication would be good, so people know what changes were actually made.
  6. I'd like an update on the ticketing update. If it is true that the said update, amounted to involving a ticketing firm who get 10% on every ticket sold, I'd like someone to explain how that's a step forward? If it isn't true, I'll be delighted to read an official denial.
  7. I believe so. If that's wrong hopefully someone will say so.
  8. On the positive side, getting promotion to league 1 should make us a more attractive proposition for a loan. The manager is aware we have a problem in defensive numbers and is actively looking for options. Starting off pretty well won't have hurt Darren's negotiation position either. That's the good bit. On the negative side, the numbers of promising young players getting released or loaned out from higher divisions seems to drop year on year. Clubs seem to be putting off loaning players out longer than before. Lower league clubs are generally screaming out for loan options that just aren't there yet. That's the bad bit. It's a big bit. Fingers crossed some good loan options start to appear soon.
  9. We've been humped by Falkirk so many times, KY jelly is no longer necessary.
  10. Kind of you Lorenzo. I can only speak for myself. I have no idea where this is going. Apart from getting blown away at Falkirk we've been solid enough, but the goals are a lot harder to come by for us in league 1. We've just lost Paul Mclean for at least 5 weeks as his appendix has to come out. I wouldn't bet on top 4 on 4 early results mate, our squad is a tad thin in defence to handle much in the way of injuries. This thread is about the sons though, not us. Delighted to see you banging goals in. I hope that's a sign of great things to come for you this season. Cheering for you all the way.
  11. Well look who's gone top, that's better. Rock on Dumbarton.
  12. I can top that for uninspiring. I had a nap after lunch and didn't wake up until the game was well over, A good 3 points I didn't see.
  13. Two possibilities. Blew all their pocket money on the Aberdeen game and or, not allowed out on a school night.
  14. Geez. there's a blast from the past. The last time I saw him he was sitting pished outside a pub in Grangemouth the night before a Rangers game. How time flies.
  15. Bannockburn, Cowie, Fallin, Plean, Cambusbarron and the Raploch were all football and nothing else. Bridge of Allan and the Kings Park rugby, yet as a kid I never saw a rugby pitch anywhere. Not until the area became a commuter housing belt devoid of industry and work, Politically Plean was Gerrymandered off to the Falkirk voters roll to help the Tories get in. The religiously split education system churns out old firm supporters like a factory, just like nearly everywhere else. We ended up with a town like Ayr without a beach and an army of old firm supporters Oh joy. Nice to look at, shame about the rest. Give the cultural inferiority complex a rest. Industry counts more than a castle and monuments when you need a job.
  16. Let's not go too far. I've got no tribal envy crap issues with you and that'll have to do. Star Wars Han Solo GIF – Star Wars Han Solo Shrug – discover and share GIFs.mp4
  17. When you tie your self worth to your team's results, you've tied it's arse to a ticking time bomb. Taking cheap shots at Falkirk fans won't kiss it better, so gie it a rest and be men instead of man babies.
  18. Falkirk were very one dimensional in the first half. They kept putting the ball in the back of our net. There you go, fixed it for everybody.
  19. We started the league well, but it's not like we blew Edinburgh or Alloa away. Hard work, good organization and team spirit had a lot to do with getting the points. Against Falkirk we were always going to punished for mistakes and have a hard time breaking them down. I thought we'd have to be at our best to get anything from the game and better than we'd been in the first two matches. We weren't. I'm not going to turn on the team over it and I'm not going to take away from Falkirk's performance with excuses either. The full timers romped it and well done to them. I 'm already over it and hopefully the team soon will be too.
  20. As I said before the game, it's always an uphill struggle against Falkirk and this would be no different. It wasn't. Congratulations Falkirk, your team did you proud.
  21. Game day at last, where the football does the talking thank Christ.
  22. I know what you mean. I've seen benches with only 1 or 2 subs on them in league 2, often 4 at most.
  23. Points well made and taken. We have precisely no players loaned in at the moment, but it's not because the manager isn't looking. That door seems slammed shut for everybody for the moment.
  24. I get the impression teams are holding back on putting players out on loan until the closure of the transfer window these days. The whole of leagues 1 and 2 seem concerned at the shortage of loan options. Mo might yet some boosts to their team options when the Dundee teams start farming out? Ok, it's not started well for Petrie, but the thought of getting reams of rookie applications and little else would give me pause for thought on axing him.
  25. I'll just be happy to have a full and fit squad for this game. Falkirk are always a real uphill challenge and I don't think it will be any different this time.
