  1. I think it will be late 22/23, maybe even for the start of 23/24. I heard from a very reliable source that there were problems with heavy metals in the soil that was missed initially which put a pause to the construction. Selfishly, I'm a 10 minute walk from Hampden so it's always a good day out. All the troops round to mine for a bev then walk round.
  2. Absolutely agree. There's an endless list of these soulless grounds. Surely the worst ones are Dumbarton and East Fife though? One stand, absolutely zero atmosphere. In terms of bigger grounds, Airdrie's always springs to mind as a terrible ground. I do like Livingston's bowl shape though.
  3. https://queensparkfc.com/lesser-hampden/ There's the plans.
  4. I want QP to visit the new Lesser Hampden. After months of no work on it they have fair cracked on with it recently.
  5. With Mathie and Glendinning behind the scenes, this is the most confident I've been in a long time with regards to summer signings. Those two, along with Smith will be selling the Premiership plan to potential signings, we're a club (off field at the moment) on the up etc. Also, the squad seemed to have a great relationship with each other this year and enjoyed being at Ayr, that will surely help entice players too, knowing that they should enjoy their time at Ayr. We'll hopefully get news this week about players moving on and who's been offered something. Some contract renewals and season tickets going on sale next week could be a big boost for the club.
  6. I don't see the issue at all with three year deals? It's good for the player knowing they're guaranteed a wage for those three years and some stability for themselves/families, and the club can make money from a sale.
  7. It's the haud me back stance that makes me laugh the most.
  8. I pay my golf membership through V12 Finance on 0% interest over 10 months. The golf club get the money through straight away, and I'm paying back the finance company. Surely a no brainer? Yes there would be a fee for the club no doubt, but I do feel more people would take up the season ticket. For many people £50 a month for 5/6 months is a lot more manageable than stumping up £250/£300 in one go.
  9. Away this season was definitely not bespoke. A bloody training top that of course Killie used.
  10. So the away top will be the bespoke one. I think it was a three year deal with Hummel?
  11. We were behind the net up the back, and McInroy's shot was definitely on target and most likely would have been saved by their GK. The extra touches in the box yesterday were infuriating, just bloody hit the thing! Ashford tweeted last night about not taking his chances, so at least he cares and will hopefully improve in that area. I thought Gondoh was useful when he came on. Won us a free kick that kept us up the park which led to our goal. I'm going for a win on Friday, simply because we're due a win, and of course Partick will be wanting to get through the game injury free etc. I'm pretty sure McCall wants Partick back in the Premiership over Ayr finishing 9th.
  12. I thought that a deliberate handball anywhere on the park merited at least a booking. Thanks for clearing it up! I did want a full explanation at the time, I wasn't happy haha
  13. Thank f**k we got that point. The biggest talking point though... How on Earth did Gibson not get at least a booking for catching the ball in play? Willie Collum is a truly awful referee.
  14. Few of us made a fairly last minute decision to head down tomorrow. Lost count of how many times we've been and not seen us win. Tomorrow is the day to break the hoodoo! If we start Adeloye I think we'll win.
  15. As I said, we had many clean cut chances from the highlights I saw that we have put away previously (4-0 vs Raith, last week against Inverness, 2-1 vs Killie, your lot at Somerset early in the season). Put a few of those away on Saturday and we should win.
  16. I've just about recovered from my stag weekend and plucked up the courage to watch Mattman's vlog. How the f**k did we only score one goal? I'm not actually so worried about QoS after watching it, on a different day we'd have scored 5 or 6 by the looks of things, and I didn't realise Dunfermline's first goal was directly from a free kick. Overall I'm feeling pessimistic as ever supporting Ayr, but I do think there's some hope for Saturday.
  17. And there's Rory's first drive into the trees.
  18. I'm all for a refined, quick version of VAR. Goal line, offside, and penalty claims. But done in a quick way that doesn't have stupid lines being drawn and someone's baw hair being called offside. The officials in Scotland are dire across the board, and that's because of a refereeing shortage. Referees are getting promoted through the ranks quicker than usual.
  19. Surely either side of HT stewards could block off the path behind the hospitality until all players and officials have cleared the area?
