Unless there's significant improvements made to our current grass pitch, whether that's through new equipment and new/more ground staff, I'm for a surface like Raith's. We talk about wanting to be entertained? I want to see slick passes that don't bobble, players controlling the ball without it being a lottery where it ends up, passing it back to the GK and not worrying about it ending up with a horrendous miskick... Last night was a much better watch than what we've been seeing at Somerset, where our pitch is terrible. Would be very interesting to hear what players actually think, afterall they're the ones playing on it.

I understand about the testing element, and how the earliest he could meet the team was Thursday. But I don't think that's the reason why it hasn't been announced going by that interview. I think he'd just have came out and said that if that was the case. This time tomorrow hopefully we'll know.

Going by Smith's interview last night, it sounds like there's finer details to sort out. Compensation? Coaches? Might it be Petrie where he's had to give a notice to his current job? Danny Lennon at Clyde? An ex manager who has media duties? All very interesting. If it was a completely unemployed manager, I think it would have been announced by now.

His Twitter profile is embarrassing. The replies to his Tweets about applying for the job, and then that there are hilarious. He, and his followers have no concept about the job. They're all saying it's our loss!

McIntyre was 2/1, I suspect a few people will have backed that today.

I did have a dream last night that I knew he was getting the job and I was scrambling to get on McBookie to place a bet. I hope it's not a sign of things to come tbh. I've settled on the idea of it being McIntyre. I'd be surprised if it's not him.

I agree, but we are living in a new world. If they found out on Wednesday, at least they could turn up to training on Thursday focused on the task at hand, rather than who the new manager is going to be playing on their minds.

I'd like to think that the person knows they've got it by tonight, and can watch our game and start making plans for Saturday. Players, coaches etc might all get told tomorrow morning who's got it via video chat, then it can be made public? I really don't have a scooby. I'm just enjoying the wild speculation at the moment.

That was my thinking. If we were going for a "big" signing like Stuart McCall it could scupper it. I have no idea who Aberdeen would be going for. I read that Paul Sheerin is going to be the interim manager until the end of the season, so they're going to take their time to make the right appointment.

If Moffat is announced as manager this week I will happily eat every single hat I own, and some. I was definitely joking. Moffat I imagine will end up a strength and conditioning coach when he hangs his boots up.
