Ooft. I knew it was bad but I didn’t realise it was that bad. Cringe.I was 17 in the summer of 1978 and I don't recall it as cringeworthy at all. Now all that 'Yes Sir I Can Boogie' bullshit from a team that scraped through the mother of all backdoors to the Euros only to have their arse handed to them.....that WAS !!!

Absolutely yes.
It's a dive. The distance from the seats to the pitch are too far and it's just horrible. The hospitality areas aren't bad though, to be fair.
Went to see Springsteen at Hampden a few years back, the gig was sensational, as it's Springsteen, but the sound wasn't brilliant, due to the fact that it wasn't built up, like Murrayfield is. Stadium gigs in Glasgow should be at Celtic Park or Ibrox.I'd like to think that enlightened artists would boycott venues built on the back of sectarian bigotry in much the same way as they would boycott venues built on the back of racist bigotry.

What a shock, Leitch can’t make it on the show today
Would rather listen to Leitch than Tam 'Proud to be a Moron' Cowan.

“Severely angered”. Jesus Christ.
I hadn’t heard Allan’s comments so having read that headline I assumed he’d said something really silly. But no, he’s made some very, very mild and fairly considered comments, but has ultimately backed the referee; said the offside call was tight and understandable and said that maybe Hearts should have got the ball back at Jota’s injury but again, qualified it by saying it happened in “half a second”.
Absolutely pathetic. No wonder referees don’t come out and discuss decisions.
I'm 'severely angered ' by the very existence of the vermin brothers Glasgow Rangers & Glasgow Celtic but I accept I may be in the wrong and just have to accept it.

I expected him to play in 1986 world cup but he threw his toys out the pram because h*ns*n was not in squad
As he was right to do. McLeish instead of Hansen is like Gerry & The Pacemakers instead of The Beatles, Friends instead of Seinfeld, Walter Smith instead of Alex Ferguson, Tony Blair instead of Clement Atlee, Andy Cameron instead of Billy Connolly etcetera etcetera etbloddycetera. So there ! And same goes twice over if it was Willie Miller picked over Hansen. ........on reflection maybe Walter Smith instead of Ferguson for Mexico 86 only.

Yeah. These guys won't care that they're being broadcast to the whole of the UK. He will only care about catering for the English audience, who make up the vast majority of the audience to be fair, but that's not the point.
But is that really catering for the English audience ? Are they so different from us that they wouldn't appreciate an Ally style 'fan yet fair & balanced ' co -commentator ?

At least Tam has a love for this supposedly 'shite ' music. It is all personal taste after all and he cares not whether it originates in England, USA, Scotland or wherever. Contrast that with his apparent love of football...a love that knows no bounds other than the Scottish border.

I’d rather have the semi at Hampden and be missing a couple of players than ending up away to Russia or something like that with a full squad
We will get at least three bookings. Paying that these go to Nisbett, O'Donnell and Hendry

I guess villa are a smaller club in terms of worldwide appeal etc. However, they are still a big club and he would be daft to turn them down.Villa have won the European Cup, something Rangers will never do. And on what particular planet do Rangers have worldwide appeal ? ??

I was a fan of Barry Ferguson. Thought he was a hugely talented midfielder. Still remember his performance at Wembley in 99 when as a teenager he was head and shoulders above anything in the England midfield which consisted of Paul Ince, Jamie Redknapp, David Beckham and Paul Scholes.
Yep he should have kicked on from that but somehow never did

Pretty sure he based his sideways pass career on Paul McStay.
Now that was one overhyped player .

What about just kicking the Bigotry Brothers out of Scottish football completely ! God knows it's the only way this will get sorted.

That is patently untrue and unless you are without shame, you should reconsider that particular attack line.
Or perhaps you lack the comprehension skills to understand otherwise?
Aw don't shout at me mammy....! All I said was a man who would rather watch an episode of Coronation Street than a World Cup Semi-Final between Brazil & Germany doesn't have a great deal of interest in football as a sport. What oor wee Tam does love is 'the fitba'. That's indisputable. That the sport of 'football' and the social and tribal construct of 'the fitba' are necessarily the same thing is a matter of dispute.

It's satire. They've already been on the thread making cheap digs rather than expressing any kind of sympathy.
Ahh, fair play. I know for a fact Walter loved his satire. He and Tommy Burns bonded over a mutual love of 'Private Eye' , or something, apparently, I think...

Mmm yep I wouldn't imagine it's how Walter or his family would want us to remember him. Far more glorious episodes abound.

Tam Cowan who has no interest, that I can tell, in any sport - and I include football in that - luxuriating in his ignorance of cricket on today's 'show'. Not funny, not clever, not in possession of a nice speaking voice. What is this tubby little man actually on the radio for ??

Celtic reached the semi finals of cup winners cup in 66, won European cup in 67.
Then , the years after your selected year -quarter,final.,quarter,semi. They weren’t some flash in the pan job that you were attempting to allude to.And they weren't the superhuman, all-conquering footballing gods you were alluding to either......and Nottingham Forest have still won twice as many European Cups as them !!

John McGovern didn't win a single Scottish cap despite being a European Cup winning captain. And what did McGovern 's Forest do the season after becoming European champions ? They won it again. What did the Lisbon Lions do the season after becoming European champions ? Got pumped out in the preliminary round. So they were fallible, we're not demi-gods and probably won about the right number of international caps but to a certain breed of paranoid Celtic supporter to suggest such a thing is tantamount to "spouting shite".

Have a look at some of the Lisbon lions and see how little caps they have between them for an all conquering side before you start spouting shite.
Every single one of them was capped..not too shabby for a side that won the European Cup half as many times as Nottingham Forest .
