Fletcher played the water carrier role at Man Utd. Tremendously hard worker and first name on the team sheet for big games. His job was to win the ball and give it to the more creative players. He was also brilliant playing from box to box. A large percentage of Scotland supporters expected him to suddenly turn in to a playmaker for Scotland because he plays for Man Utd. Clowns.

That's it. The way they are carrying on they'll be remembered as the men who failed to get 10. 9 titles in a row is still a great achievement, financial advantage or not.

Not going to quote a million posts there but I agree with @Dons_1988 that recruitment is the biggest issue. If Derek just wants to be a direct team then sign players to do that. If he wants to implement the nice football we play at the beginning of most seasons then sign players to do that. Instead you end up with some weird set up where you have Dylan McGeouch playing 5 one twos with a centre half before the ball goes long to Cosgrove and there's no support because the rest of the team are 40 yards away. Most on here probably won't agree but for me the club should be going down the actual Director of Football route.
