  1. They're Austrian. But Empire biscuit, FFS. I'm with @LoonsYouthTeam here - a snowball. And frothy coffee.
  2. Anything by Gil Scott-Heron. Black History/The World would fit the bill.
  3. "The Eastern seaboard of the US". What's wrong with having a coast or a coastline like everybody else?
  4. Yes, but the thing is when you add on early morning raids, an anti-immigrant agenda, the jobs for the boys attitude, their sense of entitlement and more, then some might say it's a bit more worrying than just a pantomime that's playing out.
  5. Just in case anyone thought those hillwalkers were surrounded by several thousand 'tartan gonks' baying for blood, threatening them with claymores, and chasing them out of town, the bloke has since tweeted this: Fantastic 8 days walking the West Highland Way. Beautiful scenery, friendly people, and a big challenge. I won't let a couple of nutters in Glasgow spoil it. I am due to visit Skye later in the year.
  6. Wait, you phoned yer Maw instead of telling the cleaners to just do their job?
  7. No, never, but it made me think if there's a corresponding "term of endearment" used by "Jocks" and "Taffs" in old war films for an English soldier. Or is it just "Sir"?
  8. Watched the Galloway clip. Even funnier if you imagine him speaking as Swiss Toni.
  9. A well made crumble is a thing of beauty. Warm crumble, cold custard (guid stuff, obv) is best. I'm ok with the traditional rhubarb, and the apple, but pear and blueberry is excellent and a strawberry crumble with cream is outstanding.
  10. I know. Ridiculous. Glad the Royal charm offensive is off to a cracking start though.
  11. The Daily Express calling the SNP/Greens working together a PLOT to destroy the UK. Daily Mail, however, running with Kate wearing an outfit the colour of the blue in the Scottish flag.
  12. If it hadn't been for the Beeching cuts to the rail network, The O'Jays Love Train was scheduled to stop at Hawick as one the group had family there.
  13. Getting on the Stornoway ferry on Saturday and heard a woman ask her partner why both ends of the boat weren't pointy.
  14. Unlucky. Who hasn't got stuck after dropping their phone down the throat of a dinosaur?
  15. Regardless of when it was written, surely unacceptable from a public figure. Even a public figure of ridicule.
  16. Funny? You're defending that language from a Prime Minister. You're stuck in the same mindset if so. But probably not an Eton lad but I'm sure he'll be pleased to know you're sticking up for him.
  17. Swap them around, put the washing on fences and peg the bags on the washing line.
  18. No predictions from me, but this does look like quite a fine league. Obviously not best pleased at Forfar being here, but this is hopefully the time for the Board to have learned some hard lessons and come out with a new outlook. Cannae wait to get back to Station Park and visit the other grounds. I'll probably be scoring pies out of ten (bridie's a class apart, obv). Kelty probably closest to Forfar? I'm going to have The Binos as my "derby" and catch up with friends there but Edinburgh and Stranraer for a weekend of things. Might give Elgin a miss, though but Stenhousemuir are good guys. Is Gilmours still the place for fine wine and dining?
  19. Last night at Calanais we walked up to the stones. It was a beautiful evening with white fluffy clouds and blue sky. Then in rolled a raincloud. Five minutes of rain but left a great rainbow. Turned into a double rainbow but swapping lenses and got rain smears. Bugger. .Still.
