    Yes there is.

I attended a Bonar Bridge home game at the end of the North Caley season that had been due for the Saturday but was brought forward to the midweek and played under lights at borrowed Golspie.

When I asked why, the Bonar Bridge club official told me that he had had to do that move because the players had told him that they were off to their summer clubs (the primary football up there) and he'd have had insufficient left for the fixture had it remained on the Saturday.

Funny that in the places that have a summer amateur league, it is more popular than the “junior” set up in the area… but when you mention switching amateur football to summer to save the dwindling numbers, the same people swear blind it’s a terrible idea and will never happen…

  2. A bit gutted for Tain. Started off really well but the wheels have came off the wagon recently. I know they don't have near the budget of Invergordon so must be tough recruiting players in the area. Maybe they were just punching early on in the season to be so high up?

Bonar are always on a hiding to nothing, it's a miracle they get a team out all things concidered. Alness, Invergordon, Tain Saints, Golspie then Tain Thistle and Lairg in the summer league (don't know if there as much of a crossover these days) so it must eat into the player pool they have at their disposable

I think the ground described as Mayfield was on the west side of Newington Cemetery, i.e. the opposite side to Echo Bank.  It was on the east side of Mayfield Road where the road now crosses the railway line.  The land on which the ground stood was taken for the construction of the South Suburban Railway.

    Would this be it here?

There is also this one but I don’t think they ever played on it…

Welcome to the Midlands League. ;)

    season 5 episode 3 GIF

Back to junior football for you Perth c*nts 👋😂 x

EDIT: Clearly a joke, I actually love Perth!

  5. Hopefully they are looking into it further than just Syngenta leaving the league. I'm sure if it was only that, then they would've been wiped off the table and all games voided.

The fact the entire backroom staff then went to another club within 12 hours and signed all the old team's players really needs to be dealt with.

If there isn't a rule or process already, there needs to be ASAP to stop these charlatans taking the piss out the league system again

  6. The VoC strips are proper nice, not many teams risking/paying out for a bespoke design and are all looking the same.

The Port Glasgow ones from a couple of seasons back were different too. Maybe we need the guy from Loch Ness down to promote them a sell 8000 (or so) units. It’s money waiting to be had for these clubs, not much but will keep the lights on for a bit as there’s enough people who would buy them on looks alone

  7. Can we not just cut the grass, give them their own pitch back and pretend this never happened?

It’s actually heartbreaking seeing it still there not being used for anything. That plan looks like Fleet Grounds 2.0. If they are lucky they might get a Bothwellhaugh-type setup eventually which would be decent enough but looks a long way away

Don't agree with this narrative that Selby is brutal to watch. He's literally one of the greatest players (and greatest breakbuilders) of all time.

The man is a shotmaker, can score with the best, hang in safety with the best, can shitfest like f**k when he's not playing well and still win. The guy is a snooker genius.

I hear the boring argument about Selby often and usually from O'Sullivan fans who can't handle that Selby has pumped their man in numerous big finals.

When he’s firing he gets in a good rhythm and is awesome, but other times he overthinks it and it does get brutal. I’m all for tactical frames and grinding out results but these guys see the correct shot within a couple of secs. Taking 2-3 mins per shot sometimes is hard to watch.

On a brighter note, at least this game is warming up nicely for a decider!

Murphy comfortably beats Selby. What's happened to grinder Selby lately!!

Neal Foulds is thee most miserable analyst/commentator, looks like he hates it.

Hope Selby sorts his shit out and has help. Absolutely brutal to watch but a really decent guy.

Watching Trump vs Carter now. Are the tables playing bad or are the players playing under protest or something? This is grim viewing so far, really poor by both or them

  10. Couple of bad games and look who's back!

In Mr Kings own words ‘if I go the players will go, they signed for me not this club’ as he sat next to the club committee in an open public forum.

If that's true, I agree they should just go BUT I want to see the quote in context first and not just a rant by someone with an obvious agenda

He was always straight to the point and a one club man though Tam :P and to this day that point still stands why spend thousands on floodlights for 2 maybe 3 games a season.

Oh and the last 2 games called off have been AWAY fixtures by the way.

    Just saying likes :whistle

Tbf it's been decent for the last couple of seasons!

Remember the days it used to double up as the Rosewell swimming baths from the 2nd week of October.
