  1. No one apart from the SJFA themselves anyway. I still wonder why? Was it because they all had jobs lined up in the WoS leaving no one to run the Junior leagues? Then didn't want the hassle of leaving that particular door open for the clubs that wanted to stay for some reason, forcing a lot of clubs into their decision
  2. Fair enough, I completely missed the context there until Jordi mentioned it! I'd have probably have tried the same myself tbf
  3. Depends how well it has been maintained. The ball will stick on the good 3g park, but the worn ones are like car parks
  4. Oh definitely, it was a miscommunication and DC was just having a mare of a day. Tbf to him, unless it was perfect conditions (when the car was a rocket), that McLaren wasn't great. It was only Mika's genius that pulled it through at lot of the time. We all saw it for what it was, DC and MS eventually made up. Ralf got his release from Eddie Jordan after he wasn't allowed to pass Damon Hill, EJ got paid, Hill got a trophy and we moved on! Simpler times back then without social media meltdowns and conspiracies!
  5. Basically what happened was DC was about 4 secs a lap off MS's times and was told to pull over as the spray was bad and he was being lapped. After already eliminating half the field at the start, DC pulls into the racing line and slows down... MS runs in the back of him then later in the pit lane tries to storm the McLaren garage. Great stuff lol
  6. I reckon anyone with any interest in F1 around that time remembers Spa 98, alongside him binning it in the pit lane at Adelaide for Williams, as the moment we all realised that DC wasn't bringing any championships back to Scotland! EDIT - Also binning it on the warm up lap from pole at Monza or Imola!
  7. I haven't looked at the run-in but it's Lanark followed by Gow that stand out from the form table. Everyone else seem to be tripping themselves up
  8. If you knew where this league was a few seasons ago, this is just a blip. I would love to find out what was said to clubs by the league as it can't be a coincidence that so many teams have been caught out. It's not a good look though
  9. I tend to be more lenient on the NCL and the teams. It's hard enough to sustain a club and a league, Invergordon won, no playoffs and bar the shouting it's all done and dusted. There needs to be a penalty but I don't think throwing the book at FW (as much as we mock) and Orkney helps anyone
  10. Whichever level is lower than their parent club I would think. 1. SPFL 2. LL 3. EoS, SoS, WoS 4. Amateur
  11. Did all the teams actually think the season would be done in march and only signed players till then? Or has everyone on an ammy contract chucked it to go n play in the summer leagues?
  12. I think now is probably a good time to drop the “champions” part and allow the “top licensed” team to go up or into a playoff. I can understand the reluctance before when not many teams were licensed, but there is enough quality in depth now to be changing this rule.
  13. I know 1 of the 4 was meant to be a wind up but it'll not let me change it now
  14. It was mentioned by one of the LL Higher-ups around the peak of their cnutiness, so it was pretty much disregarded and told to bolt from what I remember
  15. And none of the Highland League teams wanted anything to do with it
  16. Auchinleck Talbot 3-0 Pollok (cup tie) Shotts Bon Accord 2-2 Darvel (cup tie) Cambuslang Rangers 1-3 Neilston Yoker Athletic 1-1 St. Anthony's Vale of Leven 4-2 Irvine Victoria Eglinton 3-1 Carluke Rovers
  17. LL2 seems to be the better of 2 evils, it's a sore one for the EoS and WoS but it will make the Lowland League more marketable and hopefully put an end to some of the lingering problem with the B teams. It should have been all planned and in the pipeline years ago though. Then clubs would have known what the longterm plan was all along
  18. Good point! If it's done sensibly and the registration restrictions are clear and fair, then there is no reason why it won't work. Following what @Dev has said, what's the current rules around Stirling Uni and them moving payers between the 2 teams? Hopefully they have it sorted so squads are going to be reasonably stable throughout the season
  19. Hypothetical questions but, would it make any difference or be easier for Gala to register the new team as Gala Rovers? Continue to use them as a feeder but bring back the old name, Rovers were a biggish deal in the Borders before the merger And for Livi to maybe bail Livi United out the shit (fk knows what is happening there) and use their registration for a feeder team at that level? Both I know are not happening but just curious at what the options might be
  20. I think what didn't help Schumacher was that Murray Walker hated him, so it probably got engrained in us too!
  21. That's the spirit! Seriously though, I've nothing against the SoS. They've been about forever and never caused any hassle, even when they got dropped a tier to make way for the LL. Funny hearing an Annan fan defending the league when they chose to play in the EoS for years though
