I can almost see it working IF
The EoS league, who have proven to be very competent, ran the WoS league
    AND
It was all under one set of regs and an integrated set of cup competitions
Then why couldn’t teams (for example) Harthill, Shotts, Fauldhouse, Whitburn, some Stirlingshire teams and East Dumbartonshire teams be either east or west to suit???
But it’s creating a problem that tbh isn’t really there

Your last sentence sums it up, its a problem that isn't there.

I think my “plan” needs dusted down again later to show how simple it really could be if folk just got a grip and pulled together

People think the few Whitehill fans on here get our knickers in a twist, they couldn't be further from the truth (although newky likes a meltdown) Whitehill for decades has always been a tightnit club based on social enjoyment, I'm more than aware that things move in and there's more professionalism coming into the game at this level, which I accept but Whitehill could go on a run of 10 years without winning another game and id say we still would have seen more sucesss and great times than say 90% of teams in Scotland, for what it's worth I think the changes this summer are very positive so here's hoping

I think the “exuberance” ;) comes from the fact that the boys (like Newky and yourself) are on the front line and genuinely keep the club going, rather than being mere “fans”. So of course you are going to be more emotional when it comes to the crunch...

You cant compare this to Scotland. Everyone stays in their own area and extra promotion/relegation spots are enacted when neccesary. Exactly as will operate in the LL and the EoS Premier next year where the number of relegation spots is not set in concrete.

Well, I think you can to a degree, but that's just my opinion, and if you've got a different opinion then fair enough...

They'll be lucky to have any fans who aren't friends and family of the players.

Allowing three ammy teams in under the names of Senior clubs plus a club that the senior leagues knocked back shows how far the Junior game is falling.

Christ no wonder you’ve not been  approved on the Junior Fitba forum, you can’t be saying things like that!

I'm aware that size is not fundemental to sucsess, but when u see how Kelty get behind there club as a community, Whitehill never had anything like that, over the years about 25 die hard commitee and the same fans, still on banter level I'd put us top of the tree.....

Couldn’t agree more. Even the few games I found myself at, we were treated like royalty which was what made us try and go back until I moved away, BUT even when (iirc) we/they beat Burntisland 8-0 in the old quali cup in 2002ish, there was more folk came off the Burntisland bus to watch than there was Welfare fans there... made for a decent afternoon of banter though

Can somebody post up a list of the nearest train stations please and if there's bus connections.

Obviously it's the teams that dont have stations so nae smart arse comments stating the obvious Dunbar,Nitten,Camelon,Lithgy and Musselburgh all have stations I'm in a shitty mood as it is especially the way the whole situation has been handled!!

Penicuik, Nitten, Musselburgh and Tranent are easy, plentiful and cheap on the buses...

Aside from all the idiocy from the SFA that has caused real problems for both WW and BR what has happened at Whitehill?

Remember WW as pretty much the strongest of the old EoSL and it surpises me to see them struggling in a league with Civil Service, Dalbeattie, Vale of Leithen, Edusport, the University teams and even Gala.

Have those teams progressed while WW have regressed or is there other reasons?

Genuine question, it really does surprise me that WW were the first to drop out the LL (even with what happened at Selkirk).

Basically, they had a season that would sum up my amateur career... a total mare!

Although Buckie won the HFL only 3 years ago they've finished 7th and 8th in the past 2 seasons. They'd need to have a step up before next season of they were to seriously challenge.

Come on now, even I could hear the irony in his comment from here. Well, it made me chuckle either way

  9. That’s a shocker! Can’t believe they thought they were going to get away with that. I imagine the league board will be having words with the Belmac management... :o

The ONE time I big-up an Inverness team as well :whistle

Vale of Atholl were the senior team playing out of Pitlochry

There it is! There was me thinking they were from Blair Atholl...

Hopefully we see a decent team coming from there soon, Breadalbane in the HL would be nice but they seem nowhere near that stage yet, or destine for the EoS setup

Yeah agree with auld heid, don't ground share unlike some, have our own floodlights unlike some got a better home/away support unlike some shall I go on!!! Running scared me thinks Only Kilby from LL managed to beat us last season. Probably will be different next season but bring it on. To be honest top 6 would be a tremendous achievement in first season.

See youse at NDP if you bother to turn  up!!!!!  LOL

....and Boomtown have entered the building!

Seriously though, good luck lads. I’m sure the rest will come round to your ‘unique’ sense of humour... or maybe not! :whistle

Like many many many many football clubs they relieves the Manager of his duties my comment is about the loyalty of the players towards the club and the backward step the majority, not all, have made.

Love your hatred towards the club though Archie.

Tbh he’s got a point... why else would all these players CHOOSE to play at ‘lesser’ clubs? They ALL lack ambition? Or do they know this new chairman and co are going to screw over one of the most loved and recognised non-league clubs in Scotland?

I don’t know anyone involved, but I can guarantee you one thing, all these players wouldn’t be leaving en-mass if their wasn’t something very toxic and damaging contributing to their decisions to leave GFR...

Reform Fair City Athletic:) Or get Breadalbane back in the seniors :)

I spent hours in Perth library searching out details for the various Perthshire cups. Pretty extensive list of results up to 56/7 season here

    http://scottish-football-historical-archive.co.nf/perthshire-cup.htm

I’m I missing something glaringly obvious or (apart from Port-na-Craig) have Pitlochry never had a decent team?

Has it always been like Aviemore where it looks like a descent sized village, but nobody ACTUALLY lives there?

  14. As much as I’m gutted for WW, it’s the right decision and all you need to do is go and win it... again! 8)

Back to the good old days, Whitehill Welfare kings of the East of Scotland league.

Pick yourselves up, dust yourself down and show all these new boys how it’s done... go easy on Cuikie though :thumsup2

Sure is right.  All original farms and steadings that were built on during the years have been remembered by having estates named after them.    See this old map http://www.visionofbritain.org.uk/place/20289.  Anybody that knows the stadium will know that the trees shown on the map under the name Warout are still there.   Have lived in the town for over 50 years.  It is definitely War- out

I was just looking through the old maps myself...

The older map from 1900ish showing the old Leslie branch line passing just south of the stadium now and heading to Markinch
