  1. I don't get the impression that he is a happy chap. And you guys seem to have regressed since he took the wheel. Still, we so needed these points a week past on Saturday.
  2. Has a Dick Campbell post match interview been posted anywhere?
  3. Disagree. His hame has improved greatly under the new regime. I would be delighted to see him signed up.
  4. I'll let you into a wee secret. There is a ned element among our own support too. But don't tell anyone. Let's keep it to ourselves.
  5. I'm guessing that the majority of Stranraer fans will feel both sick and gutted right now. It could easily have been us at 4:45pm yesterday. I think I will make the trip over to EK (where I grew up) next Sat and lend my support to Stranraer in the playoffs.
  6. They are not down yet. There is the possible of us getting beaten at Elgin and you being beaten at Stranraer. Stenny being thrashed by the club at the bottom of the league is not outwith the realms of possibility.
  7. Elgin City don't seem to have a working website just now. Can any of the fans post admission prices please? Thanks.
  8. I think that Ross Lyon has shown a marked improvement of late.
  9. We did not capitalise on the wind advantage in the first half. bringing on Ewan Cameron at half time is just the same as dropping to ten men. Why was he brought on? Why was he ever signed?
  10. Steering this back to football (and yes, the Bowling Club is great), that we will be without Liam Scullion will not help us. he has played well in his last few outings.
  11. We will need to score at least twice to win this as Tony Wallace will certainly stick one past us. Always a great away day. Spoons before the game. As far as the game itself is concerned, I will be happy with three points, but cannot predict the outcome of this. Anything less than 3, and Stranraer beating Spartans, and we are right back to square 1.
  12. Brilliant. Take a bow that man. For that post. Andy Goram was able to move faster for Queen of the South than Kevin Budinakaus ever was for us.
  13. I did wonder if there might be a connection for the reasons you mention. Still, like father like son. Dodgy to the Nth degree.
  14. Budinaukis. Anyone old enough to remember us having a dodgy keeper with the same name? The no2 keeper to Bryn Halliwell? But as dodgy as Stranraer's current offering. Cost us a game against the dark side at Firhill on 02/01/2002. Edited to say that Alan Maitland was our manager then.
  15. Berwick made a shocking management appointment that season. It was clear from early doors where they were heading. What has happened to Chris Johnston? Is he injured just now?
  16. Thought Liam Scullion had a decent game today, and I thought that boo boys favourite Ross Lyon played well. It is great too to have a confident keeper. Craig Howie is a bombscare. I don't remember him being as bad as that when it played for us before. Guessing it is a confidence thing.
  17. Even if we do beat Stranraer next Saturday (not a given by any stretch of the imagination), I think that the rest of the run looks like the north face of the Eiger to us. A win against Stranraer will be too little too late. I think that our focus will have to be on beating EK in the playoffs. I think that EK will throw everything at this, not least money. This is the biggest chance that they will have for senior league football. Blow it, and it might be years again before they get the change. Given that our bottle crashes in games that we have to win, this does not look good.
  18. On arguably the most difficult surface in the league.
  19. Didn't have the best view David, but I thought that he had lost his footing and felt for him. Otherwise an outstanding performance.
  20. Correct. I remember that night well. I was buzzing all the way back up the M74. Equally buzzing all the way back down the M80 tonight.
  21. Will you be posting any highlights? From our sport we did not get a good view of goals 3-6.
  22. Where to begin with that! First to say that I had to drag myself along there this afternoon. Having bottled it against the teams that we needed to catch, I had no expectations - perhaps even hoped for a point. Liam Scullion's free kick was one of the best set pieces I have seen all season. Jamieson had no chance of getting to that without sustaining multiple fractures. second goal, fair play to Jordan All for his composure and keeping the head to put away the rebound. Obviously being behind the away goal, I didn't get the best sighting of our four (yes four) goals in the second half, but not a player could be faulted for anything this afternoon. Our defence looked the best I have seen all season. A few chances missed, but a cracking afternoon out. And an excellent pie and bovril into the bargain.
  23. Fortunes? Seriously? We have been stinking the league out all season! It has nothing to do with fortunes. My last trip to Stenny saw you guys throw away two points in a game that you should comfortably have won. Stone me! Even Gregor Buchanan scored against us! Despite strengthening, I still believe that our defence would give Allison Becker the shakes. It will probably be a game where we shall huff and puff like the last time, but Stenny will have way too much fuel in their tank for us. And we shall be coming into this game with our confidence shot having bottled it against the teams that we need to catch. I would like to think that we will play the ball on the deck to Jordan Allan (who will never win anything in the air), and the he will make a nuisance of himself among your defence. Sadly, you will be way too strong for us. A convincing home win for Stenhousemuir, who are without doubt the best team I have seen over two showings. Then again, the league table proves that.
