  1. But apart from all of that, a decent player. lol
  2. The difference between Jordan Allan and a lot of the strikers that have passed through our sorry wee club of late is work ethic. JA would never win anything in the air, but play the ball to his feet, and he would work hard to try to achieve an end product.
  3. What is not clear from the announcement is whether or not he will continue as a player. Will he be like Rhys McCabe at Airdrie last season?
  4. Your season hasn't been a failure. You finished in 6th place last season on 40+ points. This season, you finished second on 60+ points. You made it to a cup semi-final. It as hardly been a catastrophe. Perhaps a period of rebuilding will take time, and J McG needs that. Do the Falkirk fans really want to have the reputation of their club having sacked more managers than Alan Sugar has apprentices? Oh wait...
  5. I think that a bit of perspective might be needed where John McGlynn is concerned. Last season, Falkirk finished 6th IIRC and did not even make the playoffs. You have never looked convincing against us this season, but to finish 2nd this season is a massive improvement. Rome was not built in a day. Ditch the entitlement issues and focus on being a League 1 club seeking promotion and competing with good opposition, like Airdrie. Stone me! You must have sacked more managers in the last few years than Alan Sugar has apprentices.
  6. I would have taken a point before a ball was kicked, but came away thinking that we would have been worthy of all three. I do wonder of Falkirk have a pact with the Fifers - when they drop points, so too do Falkirk. Not a classic, but for a full-time team chasing promotion, Falkirk were woeful. One player stood out for me, and that was their no3, Rowe who looked like a player. Brad McKay would be a bombscare in a back 10. Why he still gets played is baffling. A neutral would not have been able to work out which team was at the top and which one was at the bottom. I can't see Falkirk getting past Airdrie in the playoffs. As they have had more draws of late than the Cisco Kid, the league can now only be thrown away by the Fifers.
  7. That is in no doubt whatsoever. Your bottle may be crashing, but you will be amazed at just how poor we have become of late. 3 points guaranteed for Falkirk.
  8. It would be brilliant if you did it to Falkirk this season. And you might. All the signs of their bottle crashing AGAIN are there.
  9. There is not a chance that you will lose this. We have won one game since the schools went back, and that was against Peterhead who are as bad as we are.
  10. I think that you will find that most us agree that this makes great sense. He won't win much in the air, but play the ball on the deck and give him good service, and JA will score well above his tally for us. He also has one of the best work ethics that I have even seen in a striker. A cracking signing for FFC and I wish him well.
  11. Does anyone still think that we have anything to play for?
  12. Lol. Your point is fair - and it certainly seems like that. Though we did hump QofS 4-1 away at the start of the season. I would have settled for a point today before a ball was kicked, but left feeling irked that we squandered a two goal league by shipping not one, but two penalties in the second half.
  13. I just love the way that Dunfermline fans don't have entitlement issues.
  14. Nicol is a disgrace and an embarrassment. Yesterday's horror tackle was nigh on an assault. One of the worst discipline records that I have ever seen in a Clyde jersey. What was also embarrassing were the Clyde fans who applauded him off the pitch. All in all, a howler of a game. Wishing I had stayed at home and put the £16 spent towards a take-away.
  15. He needs more time. The mess that he has inherited could not be turned around in half a season by even Jürgen Klopp. Cut the man some slack.
  16. Perhaps the most measured and apposite post on here The manager the the fans want, and that manager that the club needs are often two different people. Will the new board succumb to the instant gratification demanded by the fans? Or will they tough it out and be unpopular and have a long term strategy in the best interests of the club going forward? Have watched Falkirk as a Clyde fan, and as a neutral, there is no doubt that you have had a bad season. But MR needs a lot more time than you are giving him. Instant results may not be what is best for the club just now. Being given time (as other managers such as Ian Murray have had time) to build their own squad will pay dividends in the long run. To me, Falkirk fans have big time entitlement issues. Too big a club playing in a diddy league and struggling against diddy teams like Clyde. But come on, is this not the best league for building future stability? To me, you board would be wise were they to offer MR a two year contract. Let him clear out the bag of garbage that he has inherited and give him time to build his own squad. Rome was not built in a day, and a new Falkirk will not necessarily be built in a season. So ship the "big club" entitlement issues. Accept that you are where you are, and build on that. The answer is not to try to sack as many managers as Alan Sugar has apprentices. This is a football club that is on the back foot. Give MR time to leave a legacy to the Bairns of the future to give them a high achieving club of which they can be proud.
  17. You missed out Brad McKay. Shocking in every game I have seen him. And a three year deal to boot. Is that why he gets no mention?
  18. Exactly my point sir. Cracking player for us.
  19. Indeed, David Mitchell is at Hibs. But he could be cited as a player who was injury ridden and mediocre at best for Falkirk, who went on to be a brilliant player for us. Outstanding performances for us. Right now, you could put a Falkirk top on Mo Salah and he would probably look grim.
  20. With the Barry and Bob double clown act having fallen on their swords, and Alloa having appointed Rice, I see us taking nothing this Saturday. Turn in another performance like the one against Peterhead on Saturday (when the few good players that we have had a bad day at the office), and I think that the battle for 9th place will come down to our last game of the season against the Sons. (We have Montrose and Airdrie to face at home yet). The last time we played Dumbarton, they were (convincingly) three up in 21 mins. So it really is squeaky bum time for us the next few weeks.
  21. Who is your new chairman now that Deans has gone?
  22. Superb sarcasm. Lol. That really has made me chuckle. Falkirk seem to lack stability, and I think that reason for that is that you seem to have sacked more managers than Alan Sugar has apprentices. The mismanagement of handing people like Brad McKay 3 year contracts will take a long time to correct. It will take time to flush out the garbage antics of people like Gary Deans and Gary Holt. I doubt that Jurgen Klopp could turn this around as quickly as a lot of Falkirk fans would wish. The expectations of Falkirk fans seem to outstrip any practical way forward for your board just now, and it may well be that Martin Rennie needs at least a season to build his own squad and sort things out. It is not his fault that he has been landed with players like Brad McKay, who would be a bombscare in a back 10, and Steve Hetherington. I get the frustration, but there are no entitlements in any football league, and not least this one. With the budget and resources, you should be playing at a higher lever. That might take more time than you would wish, but trust the new board to get the club on an even keel. So more realistic expectations, and dump the big club entitlement issues. Accept that for another season at least you will be playing diddy clubs like Clyde. Let the Board and Management team build from the bottom up. However, how long can the club continue as a full time club in the seaside league? It may be that you need to go part time or hybrid to stabilise the finances.
  23. Where is the link to the interview with Rennie? Can't find it on their website. (I went along as a neutral yesterday).
