  1. Shawfield is actually in what is now South Lanarkshire. When we left in 1984, which we had to do, it was not in Glasgow. So yes, this is a poor attempt at trolling.
  2. Peterhead must have had a dip in form only to have stuck two past these diddies. As for not keeping a clean sheet, it must really have been a bad day at the office as they are miles better than us. My concern is how far behind we will be come January. Not even Jürgen Klopp would get anything out of that car crash of a squad. There is not a change of us taking anything from either Dumbarton or Stenhousemuir. This excuse for a football team is all Duffy's doing, and I will never understand why he was appointed as director of football. He was like Midas in reverse. Everything he touched turned to dust. Mention was made of having money to spend, but should that materialise, will it be too late?
  3. Where the horses are concerned, that particular avenue of pleasure has been closed off to him. And she doesn't want it opened back up again.
  4. My guess is that electricity and broadband haven't reached Forfar yet. It is north of the Castlecary arches.
  5. The most vivid memory of men was a game against Patrick in the 8os when all the lights went out and we were left with the challenge of dropping our way out of the ground.
  6. How much of this financial backing (and not much has been said about it on the website) will go towards paying off Jim Duffy and Brian McLean?
  7. Please! They are only 1 point below us with two games in hand.
  8. We'll be catching up with Falkirk soon, in terms of sackings.
  9. If ever a team threw away 3 points, Stenhousemuir did it today. Miles ahead of us, which explains why they are at the top of the league. Still, I would have taken a point before a ball was kicked.
  10. We cannot promise value for money in terms of entertainment.
  11. Can't see anything apart from an away win here. Forfar have had a bad start to the season, and so will be up for this one. Our injuries, our inability to score, and our defence will combine to send them home happy.
  12. Olly McDonald comes on as a sub in the 76th minute. We could have written the script for this one. But that it was in the 96th is a real sickener. I would have taken a point before a ball was kicked.
  13. A comfortable win for Peterhead today. We had a goalie and two outfield players on the bench in carnage that was Wednesday night. Peter Grant picked up an injury. If he has not recovered, then basically we have no subs to speak of. David W is right, we even run the risk of playing a goalkeeper outfield. I'm not a gambling man, but I know some Clyde fans who have stuck some money on Peterhead to win. Can't see past anything other than a convincing away win here.
  14. https://stirlingunifc.stir.ac.uk/2023/08/17/sensational-stirling-sink-clyde-in-famous-cup-upset/ The link above gives a very accurate account of the events of last night, and a fair assessment of the game. The only thing with which I take issue is - "famous cup upset" in the title. It was never a cup upset and it was always there for Stirling to win from the word go. Doubt many Clyde fans would disagree with that.
  15. Not at all. I just can't see a queue to take their place right now. Say this board did resign en masse? What then? Not saying that that would be a disaster. Quite the opposite. But what then?
  16. Well said wee man. I have to say that I have cringed at a lot of your posts, both on here and on the Clyde website (even when you yourself were on the Board). But you are bang on the money here. If Gordon Thomson, John Taylor et al were to say:- "Enough is enough", who would we have to run the club? It is a tough and thankless call. If I recall correctly, you did not last too long on the board. And that is NOT a criticism, as I would not have gone there myself and say respect to you and others who have done.
  17. I took in this game in as a neutral. I couldn't face Clyde v Bonnyrigg Rose. I don't have the gift of prophesy or a crystal ball, but still new how that would end. Anyway, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I totally disagree with what the Partick fans say about their teams performance. I saw two cracking teams playing good football. There were times when Airdrie were well on top in the first half, but when Patrick scored, they were well in control of things. A thoroughly entertaining game, rich with some really good football being played from both sides. A game changer for Airdrie was the introduction of your no23 - Gabby McGill. What was shocking and unacceptable was the refereeing. That goal that was disallowed was very clearly over the line. The challenge on Rhys McCabe merited at least a yellow, and Partick's no4 should have been booked for persistent fouling. A shame really as he looked a really decent centre half. Equally there were some unfair decisions that went against Partick. Perhaps Mr Napier should get some coaching on the rules of the game and spend a couple seasons in the West of Scotland league before he is let near an SPFL fixture again. A massive 3 points for Airdrie, and of course Partick fans will be disappointed that they did not take anything away from that. But I believe that on that performance, both will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. Dundee United were immense against albeit a very poor Arbroath side, and are probably favourites for the title. From what I saw today, I have no doubt that both Airdrie and Patrick Thistle will match them when they come up against them. All in all, some great football played from both sides, and a pleasure to watch. PS - What about Calum Gallagher? That goal that he scored was a harder one then the two that he missed in the first half had they gone in!!!!
  18. I think we probably did dominate the first half, but without doing anything with the ball, and apart from one bit of (uncharacteristic) excellence from Euan Cameron, we could be playing yet without scoring. That said, there is no doubt that Brechin were the better team over the two halves and were well worth their win. Our defending was nothing short of criminal. Our right back made so many mistakes that I actually started to feel sorry for him. Last night proved that it is going to be a very long season. I expected Brechin to be good having won the Highland League and only being beaten by the Spartans on penalties. I did not think that we were guaranteed anything last night and I was right. With that defence, I fear that we might be the next casualty of the pyramid system and crash out of the league. Last night did nothing to quell those fears. Always had a soft spot for Brechin and their fans, and never tired of visiting the Glebe. I wish Brechin City well. But I do suspect that you might pass us on your way back up.
  19. He does get very angry - linesmen seemed to be his favourites. I would take a punt on him again. Any other Clyde fans agree?
  20. This might have been asked before, but is Ally Love still in contract at Dumbarton?
