  1. 2-0 defeat, no shots on target, Draper to say after the game we are closing in on a signing, signing to be announced as some 17 year old on loan from Aberdeen/Caley. Something along those lines......
  2. What do we think Doak would need to do at the start of the season to force his way into the Scotland squad? Start for Liverpool? Sub appearances? just be in the matchday squads? I know Clarke isn't one to make changes just for the sake of it but I really think this kid would give us something totally difference. His pace is frightening. Away to Cyprus then a friendly seems the perfect time to get him involved in my opinion.
  3. I'm not.....Getting pumped in the league every week will be even less fun....
  4. Can we just cancel this season please?.... thanks!
  5. You would think Draper would know this squad is miles away from challenging and needs probably 6/7 signings! So that tells me there is no money there to bring players in with all this loan chat. It really does feel there is an acceptance of dropping out this league in the near future
  6. Anyone else got the fear with all this 'booking Germany' early talk like we have qualified?....... Nope?....Just me? haha
  7. Was coming on to write the exact same thing. Isn't looking for permanent signings just now?! Also the chairwoman coming out and saying they will be looking to challenge for the promotion play offs as a minimum. If she doesn't see this squad isn't good enough to stay in the league let alone promotion we are in bigger trouble than I thought. A total shambles
  8. I'm going to be a bit greedy/harsh here and say I would take a top centre back aswell. We have decent options in there but I would say 'only' decent and are all much and such. (Although collectively we have defended very well in recent times)
  9. The big difference (positive) for me has been Gunn's use of the ball with his feet. Especially now we have turned into a technically good side. Recycling through the goalkeeper is key to this at times but also when its not on he as the little clip to the full back in his locker also. As good a goalkeeper as Gordon is when the ball is at his feet it gives me the absolute fear.
  10. soaked to the bone walking to Hampden/remained soaked and freezing the whole night/ 4 hour bus journey/2 hours sleep before work... Was it worth it seeing this squad of absolute shaggers take us a step closer.. ABSOLUTELY!
  11. Graham Tatters steps down from role as chairman due to family reasons. On a personal level I wish him and his family well with whatever is ongoing. There's no doubt he put a lot of time and effort into the role. On the football side of things I think its been needed for a while. Fresh faces and fresh ideas. Although I know there isn't a magic wand out there that is going to magic up someone with a business/football brain/money/time etc to step in but i really hope there is someone/ a business or 2 out there that fancies the challenge of moving the club forward .
  12. I don't know why but I'm feeling the exact same. We should be full of confidence right now and they aren't on a good run results wise but I just have a horrible feeling Odeggard and Halland are going to pull our pants down!
  13. Hate being so negative before pre season has even started but I will be amazed if we are not in a relegation battle this season. Top scorer gone who we wont be able to replace to anywhere near that standard, not even a hint of a signing and the majority of last seasons squad who aren't good enough signed on again. Get the feeling its going to be the usual last minute loan signings from Caley/county/Aberdeen who are never any better than what we have. Worrying times
  14. Cooper in for Hanley and the rest as is the Spain game in my opinion. Hendry up against Haaland would give me the absolute fear. Haaland against any of our defenders give me the fear to be fair. But Cooper gives a more physical presence.
  15. This was exactly my first thought as well. A typical (lazy, obvious) move from the board in what is going to be a massive season for the club. On the other hand, he does seem like a popular member of the squad, looks like a 'winner' and should have quite a lot of contacts up the leagues. He has a massive job on his hands, thats for sure. Recruiting players better than what's currently there is going to be a big task but much needed!
  16. Going by the chairman's latest comments in the press it sounds like its going to be Draper
  17. This was my first thought also. The football served up this year was dreadful and its plain to see the squad needs a massive overhaul. This was always going to be Kanes last season. Either through a massive ban or moving on. Replacing him/his goals is going to be pretty much impossible at this level and also where we are just now. I'm hoping the new appointment can give us a little lift as I'm struggling for any positives just now.
  18. Well, thank feck that is over. Another dismal season. I think that will be our luck all used up now. If the board don't get this appointment right and then give the man the tools for a rebuild we will be down next season. As for trying to divert the attention by bringing on Steve Dunn - about sums us up just now to be honest
  19. Shamrock rovers v Sligo. attendance -5500 price - 15 euro. good game with both teams trying to play football. Trying to gauge the standard in relation to Scotland I would probably say mid table championship but hard to say. Decent chippy van for half time feed aswell!
  20. Another goal for Hayden Hackney last night. Middlesbrough flying just now and he seems to be a big part of it. He surely can't be far away from a place in the sqaud
  21. Yea good post. All reasonable names. I think Draper would be favourite just now if he feels management is a route he wants to go down
  22. well what a difference 2 results can make. Certainly Not home and dry yet but Saturday was a big step. Does anyone think either of the interim management team have a shot at the job full time? The club have obviously advertised the post so I hope they take their time and interview a few different types and not just hand it to someone in the building because its the easy option. Saying that, if one of them is the best candidate for the job out of the applicants then great.
  23. firstly - I'm not saying Gilmour should be dropped from the squad or Hayden Hackney should be called up but just using these 2 players as an example. Hackney playing week in week out in a team that is doing very well in the championship and by all accounts seems to have had a very good season. I like what Clarke has done bringing a club feel to the squad and not making drastic changes for the sake of it but when does the point come where someone like Hackney (just an example) can't be overlooked for someone not playing at all but has been a regular in the squad? must be a tough part of international management trying to find a balance between loyalty to squad players he likes/trust but keeping out players who look like they deserve a chance
  24. Not sure who has said that but I think the majority of us know if we go down we wont be back for some time, if at all.
  25. Sad way for it to end for Gav Price. His commitment to the club could never be questions and he comes across as a great guy but this had to happen to give us any chance of survival. As for the board.. Giving him a new deal when you could see this type of run was coming. Was obvious last season. Early stages of this season the cracks were being papered over by Hesters goals. To then come out this week and back him and say he will see out his contract to then sack him a few days later. Absolute shambles. Lets hope they have a plan in place to save our league status
