  1. Think I'd rather a draw in that game even if it leaves us 2nd on goal difference, need to worry about Falkirk as well in case they actually get their act together
  2. Would like to see Smith try to lift it over the keeper there as I don't think he was ever going to place it past him at either side but I wouldn't hold it against him. Not as easy a chance as it might seem.
  3. First Raith one was a definite red, Fordyce's I don't agree with and the second Raith one is another bad challenge that I think a red is fair but I wouldn't complain with a yellow for it. As for the penalty I thought at the time it was a stonewaller but can hardly see where the ball hits the defender in the replay. It doesn't matter anyway, we weren't good enough
  4. Seems to me like the team at the top might just change every other week. What a season we could be in for
  5. Still think the Fordyce red is dodgy. I agree that cynical fouls could be reds but only if a new rule is put in place that stipulates that. As things stand there's an understanding that players are taking a booking for the team and you can't decide it's now red card offence without letting players know.
  6. Had worked a bit recently but Raith seemed well set up to defend it. Also seemed like the advertising boards were close to the pitch and I don't think McKay was getting a decent run up which was maybe why he wasn't getting the distance. We weren't good enough in attack and it was all a bit route one today
  7. Would agree with most of this tbh. Thought we were unlucky to be down at half time but not ridiculous that we were. We should have done more to score when it was 11v10 but it wasn't to be. Thought we definitely should have had a pen at the end but disappointed we hadn't already scored when we were a man up
  8. Fair enough I probably should do that. It was a horrible challenge on Reilly though and the only one I can say looked a definite red, and it was waved on. Clueless ref that done neither team any favours
  9. Aye that was a good 18th birthday present from the thug that inflicted it on him. Horrible side McGlynn's put together
  10. What is that supposed to mean? We finished with 9 men too
  11. I wouldn't have complained if the only red was the tackle on Reilly that injured him, and he waved on for that. And that was a stonewaller at the end. Rovers defender dived and saved a shot
  12. I've never seen a ref lose a game like that before
  13. The penalty was the correct decision. I don't even think I'm being biased by saying that. It was definitely in the box for a start and the defender dived in clumsily and made contact with Smith and not the ball.
  14. Airdrie next three: East Fife (H), Raith Rovers (A), Peterhead (H) Raith Rovers next three: Montrose (A), Airdrie (H), Falkirk (A) East Fife next three: Airdrie (A), Falkirk (H), Stranraer (A) Falkirk next three: Stranraer (H), East Fife (A), Raith Rovers (H) Some really massive games in there with everyone playing two of the top 4 and Raith Rovers also going away to 5th placed and on form Montrose
  15. Most likely we won't be here at the end of the night but that's fine. We'll be back.
  16. Tricky tie but wouldn't write us off given How poor Hearts have been this year. And a good away day even if we don't progress. Look forward to it.
  17. Sorry, it was definitely Steven, Scott is the current Aberdeen centre half. A bit early in my life to have senior moments like that but it happens to the best of us after a few pints.
  18. Richie Foran was a diving b*****d in that game if I remember right. And Scott McKenna cracked the bar. More than a few years ago right enough.
  19. Carrick's goalscoring record recently makes him look a superstar compared to last season, and him and Smith put a shift in off the ball too. Easily our best front three and I'd say Carrick has been among our best players this season.
  20. Absolutely correct, but it's good to see us score four despite not playing great. Ally Roy looks a different player from the league cup games and right now is nowhere near Gallagher's level. Would maybe prefer seeing Carrick playing the number 9 role if Gallagher was out in future.
  21. I've lived in Coatbridge my entire life and I can't speak for others but I like to see the rovers do well as long as they remain worse than us. We've scored a few lately and are on good form but almost all of our goals have come on the break. If the Rovers sit deep I can see this being a tight and cagey match. Can also see Murray making a couple of changes but nothing drastic. 2-1 Diamonds for me.
