  1. Would take some half time Erasure as a solid result at this stage to be honest
  2. Nothing acceptable but a comfortable win tomorrow. I'd revert to a back 4 to replace a defender with an extra positive player. I'd go for something like Hutton Fordyce Crighton Kerr McCann Thomson Roberts Wedderburn Carrick Gallagher Smith Not including Hawkshaw as he's barely played all season but he could easily come in on the left ahead of Carrick if the manager fancies him. Can't make the game tomorrow but I hope the highlights are at least enjoyable
  3. Lack of communication over this one definitely but he's no longer listed on the squad list on our website so I assume the loan was terminated
  4. Some of you on here might groan at this but I think it'd be worth considering to bring wedderburn back into the starting 11. Had a howler against East Fife and looked dodgy when he came on against Dumbarton but that midfield needs shook up and he can't be worse than what was on offer today.
  5. We've definitely looked more solid with a back 3 in my opinion but those 3, plus two wing backs, and a couple of defensive minded centre mids seems to commit too many men to defence and there's no creativity in the team. Might be worth trying the back 4 again to try and fit guys like Thomson back into the team. On the other hand it might be that there's no right answer because that's how it felt watching that today.
  6. Anyone know what the deal with Crighton is? Are we expecting him to miss next weekend?
  7. McCann not quite able to repeat what he done against Falkirk and looked a wee bit afraid to take a man on at times but definitely a talent and I'd expect him to pick up again. Wouldn't be surprised if Eckersley comes in at wing back for the Raith Rovers game though.
  8. Hutton obviously to thank for those three points today, and I also think Millar was excellent in the second half at helping us see out the win, but worth noting that Kerr, MacDonald, and McKay all had solid games again. All three are young lads which has me feeling (without getting too carried away) fairly optimistic for our future.
  9. Think Eckersley will probably start to play on the left of a back 3 in the long run but I agree it would be harsh to leave Kerr out. I'm a fan of Thomson and generally prefer to see him starting than on the bench but I'm not sure about him as a wing back. Rest of the team looks pretty much as I'd expect and hope for.
  10. Smith's our best talent up front, Carrick's our best worker, and Gallagher's our best goalscorer. I like Ally Roy but I've no doubt he's our fourth choice. I'd be happy to see him prove me wrong though. Think he looks much better up front than on the left though and to be fair to him he set up the opener today.
  11. Probably the most talented player in our squad and one of the hardest working as well. Big fan of him.
  12. There are only three certainties in life; death, taxes, and Airdrie conceding from a corner.
  13. James Cowan looking to steal Josh Kerr's "Banging them in for the reserves" crown
  14. Don't think Falkirk looked any better than us today, game could've went either way. Very impressed with McCann and I thought Kerr came in and done well too. Good game for a 0-0.
  15. Agree that we should only play one of them but to play neither is madness, even if they haven't looked great. Hawkshaw and Roberts are both attack minded and playing both would leave us exposed. Would even rather put Cowan back in there than play two attack minded centre mids in a 442.
  16. That's a shame I really liked the look of him. In that case I wouldn't be against trying to get another winger in before the end of the month.
  17. McKay over MacDonald for me and I think a midfield pairing of Roberts and Hawkshaw against Falkirk would be madness. Wedderburn may not have covered himself in glory last weekend but realistically either him or Millar has to play. Would like to see Hawkshaw get more game time but I can't see how he fits into a 442 other than out wide. Arguably too lightweight to play in a central pair and I see him as more of an attacking midfielder you'd play just behind the striker. As for Reilly he's a 17 year old that I know next to nothing about. Must have got him on loan for a reason but I'm not shouting for him to be starting games yet. Gallagher and Smith up front is a must imo and I wouldn't mind seeing Carrick on the left but what's wrong with Euan O'Reilly? He's an actual winger as opposed to playing strikers there.
  18. I assume his goals have been headers from set pieces. Still good to see though.
  19. Josh Kerr is doing a Marco Negri for the reserves. He's going to be on 30 by Christmas at this rate.
  20. Having the captain around full time can surely only be a good thing, particularly (hopefully) for the younger defenders like McKay, Kerr etc.
