  1. Also I don't think it's been mentioned here but according to the Mark Pirie article Pyott trained with Cove tonight with the possibility of a loan move. Would be a good move for him imo if he can get game time for a side that are flying
  2. Of the players signed up for next season the majority are currently full time but it'd be interesting to see if guys like Gallagher and Thomson who are currently part time and signed up for next season will be going full time if we get promoted
  3. Thought all three subs came on and done well today. Especially Wedderburn and Thomson.
  4. Couldn't give a toss who Aird has played for in the past or what team he supports I simply thought since he's a player who's played at a higher level than league one he's potentially an available player who could do a job for us. If it turns out he's a bam then maybe he wouldn't be worth the hassle but who am I to decide whether he's worth a punt or not? All I can say for definite is that I'd rather sign Rangers rejects than be an Accies fan.
  5. He definitely is here til the end of the season. Would love to sign him up beyond that but that's more of a question for May than January.
  6. Wouldn't say Smith's on a particularly bad run of form. Not scoring goals and seems to maybe panic when he gets through on goal but other than that I still think his performances have been good. If that is the case with Aird I'd rather not sign him since we seem to have a squad that get along really well and have a real togetherness. If those rumours are exaggerated I'd definitely take him as I think he'd do a job but if he is a walloper I'd rather we didn't bother.
  7. Said on here a while ago I'd love to see him and Fyvie join in January when their contracts ran out. Fyvie extended his but I'd take Aird in a heartbeat, even if he was only a backup to Smith or MacDonald (not sure if he plays more on the wing or at right back these days)
  8. While our form has dipped since our run of wins it's good that we're still up there challenging and a draw today was far from a bad result. The biggest positive for me right now is how our home form has improved. Since the horror game against Montrose we've played 4 home games and taken 10 points from those games, scoring 10 and conceding 3. Long may that continue.
  9. Don't like to comment on individuals in other teams that I only see for 90 minutes every so often but Durnan's had a mare that game.
  10. We were better in the first half and Falkirk were better in the second half. Draw probably fair overall. Ref had a shocker, but not in an unfair way, he was just rotten. Thought the handball for our penalty looked outside the box but I also thought the Falkirk defender (Toshney?) was lucky to still be on the park after a last man challenge.
  11. Was very surprised we changed the shape against Clyde because both Roberts and Hawkshaw were out. When I saw the lineup I assumed it would be Carrick in that role with Roy out wide since Carrick is the only other player we have with enough energy to play that role.
  12. While I said myself it's a position we could improve on I do agree that McKay is very raw and there is a good player in there. Wasn't until recently I noticed how tall he is actually and it's a shame he's not there to get on the end of his own long throws because he's probably one of our best players to have in the box challenging for high balls. And his involvement in the first goal against Falkirk from start to finish was excellent, yes.
  13. I'd say that McKay is the weakest player in our starting 11 and bringing in a better midfielder would improve our team if we can do it, but McKay is still useful as a player that can cover a few positions. Agree that the long throws haven't offered too much and wouldn't be missed. As for Kerr he's a young lad and I don't think there's anything wrong with the fact he hasn't played too often. Would hope to keep him as I think he's a very good prospect and I like that's he a centre back that's extremely comfortable on the ball. Playing him in midfield is an interesting idea but the one time he played at right back due to injuries he looked very uncomfortable so maybe he'd have a similar problem in midfield.
  14. Criminal not to capitalise on Raith slipping up today after what was in my opinion our worst performance since the Montrose game. Yes the Clyde players were time wasting from the first half but I can hardly blame them and if it helped them see out the win then fair play. We created our own problems today and the first two goals came from defensive errors imo (even if Goodwillie's was an excellent finish), and the last one because we had everyone up the park. Definitely created some chances in the second half to draw level but the final ball wasn't there. That's two away games in a row we've played hoofball to no effect and I can't for the life of me work out why that was the game plan. Got to kick on and go on another run now, we're still only behind top on goal difference. Disappointing and frustrating today but I remain optimistic.
  15. Feel like Kieran Millar doesn't get the recognition he deserves because he doesn't play in a fashionable role. Excellent again today.
  16. Hawkshaw in for Roberts (I assume due to the knock Roberts took last week). We may well miss Roberts today but good chance for Hawkshaw to step up and play like he did against Arbroath at the end of last season.
  17. It's normal that there's no one on the bench you could expect to come in and do as good a job or better. If there was they'd be part of our best starting XI. In terms of players coming in as cover I don't really have any problems with guys like Eckersley, Kerr, Hawkshaw, Wedderburn, Roy and Thomson (when he recovers) as backups to the first team. I think we maybe could have better depth in midfield and I'd love us to bring in someone new to play there but I think we have a relatively strong bench, even if guys like Wedderburn, Hawkshaw and Roy have been a bit underwhelming.
  18. Fordyce's red successfully overturned and Christie's pies at the stadium. Great day to be a diamond.
  19. Accies announced on twitter that he passed his driving test yesterday which I have to say surprised me! Can't be too bad then thankfully
  20. Good point, but Barrowman scored four tonight so I'd say he might be pushing for a place!
