  1. It was only McCann and Reilly that were cup tied and only in the Challenge Cup because they'd already played for Accies Colts in that competition. Smith's already played in both the Challenge Cup and League Cup for us and all should be eligible for the Scottish Cup.
  2. Hopefully not too bad then. Hopefully back for next week but if he misses next week it's not the end of the world as I'd like to think we can beat the Rovers without him. Good to see Carrick score again too, four from four for him as well now.
  3. 10 day trial in here before moving in permanently in a few weeks. That'll do me.
  4. Can someone who made the game let me know what happened with Gallagher's knock? Did it look bad?
  5. That's goals in four consecutive games for Gallagher. Also got a couple of assists in those games. He's on fire
  6. I can't imagine it being worth changing anything at the moment. There are players out of the first team just now who were maybe expected to be there at the start of the season (Eckersley, Wedderburn, Roy, Thomson) due to injuries and other reasons but the way things are just now they'll just have to wait for their chance. Obviously we can't start the same 11 for every game until May but when changes are needed it should be personnel only and the system should remain intact if possible (especially Gallagher as the central striker). In terms of January I don't think there's anything we desperately need other than McCann's loan extended (both due to his quality and Eckersley's injury problems) and possibly cover for right back where MacDonald is our only natural option. There's definitely quality in this squad - arguably the best goalie in the league, two excellent young full backs, a skipper that's looking more like a skipper than ever before in Crighton, a number 9 that's now regularly scoring and setting up goals, and real hard workers in Smith, Carrick, Millar, McKay, and Roberts. If the other teams keep dropping points there's no reason why we can't kick on and have a great season.
  7. Playing with a diamond worked for us [emoji815]️[emoji815]️[emoji815]️
  8. Hutton gives it laldy all the time I wouldn't take it personally
  9. All season I've doubted the long throw since it's led to nothing. Queue 93rd minute winner away to top of the league from a McKay long throw. GET IN THERE AIRDRIE
  10. McCann says in the match preview that he'd love to stay beyond January. Not sure how much we should read into that but we can always hope.
  11. Layne's obviously scored a few this season so he has something but he made Crighton look like a superstar on Saturday. Didn't jump for a single header and Crighton beat him easily every time. Contrast that with our front three who haven't scored as many individually but worked their socks off to great effect.
  12. Can't remember who it was or his number but whoever it was that fouled MacDonald was lucky to stay on the park. Foul itself certainly worth a booking and considering Crighton got booked for the handbags after which he played an equal part in there could've been no complaints if he saw red (i.e. two bookable offences). Clearly I'm biased as an Airdrie fan but I cannot think of a single instance where the ref either let us away with something or harshly punished Dumbarton. Don't think any of the numerous Dumbarton fans complaining have actually described a single error either, seems a bit like sore loser syndrome to me.
  13. Great form going into this away game with Falkirk. Time to kick on and really challenge the top of the table
  14. Don't know what to make of this game. Hopefully can kick on after last week. I'd say I'm quietly confident with emphasis on the quiet. 2-1 Diamonds
  15. Think it was last season we played Forfar at New Broomfield and there was a group of lads, couldn't be much older than 15 or 16, banging a drum the whole game. Was it annoying? Yes, but it created an atmosphere
  16. Anyone noticed that we wore our away kit for our only home league win (vs clyde)? Hope it's not the diamond that's cursed
  17. At the start of the season Murray would have insisted on playing Smith through the middle with Gallagher out wide. This way makes a lot more sense to me. Onwards and upwards.
  18. Four up now. I'm just praying we've got our act together before we face them.
  19. Can't make the game today but I hope Murray's not afraid to mix it up a bit. Would like to see us play a 442, even if we don't have wingers I see no reason why McCann and MacDonald can't be used in a more attacking role with Fordyce and Eckersley as full backs. Fed up of deep wing backs being our only wide players because we've been creating nothing.
  20. Not sure how much money they'd want or if they'd even be interested in the slightest but apparently Fraser Fyvie and Fraser Aird's contracts at Cove run out in January. A winger and a non-defensive centre mid is exactly what we need in my opinion but I'll not get my hopes up
  21. Very poor and disappointing recently, but he's not even the worst manager we had last season to be fair
  22. Wedderburn (at least in the second half) was maybe the only player to get pass marks today
