  1. We are surprisingly lethal from 12 yards considering we are so impotent from 1-11 & 13+ yards. Delighted to get to the next round.
  2. Ian Cathro with Craig Levein as director of football. Guaranteed success.
  3. We are at the stage where at a normal club fans would almost be wanting a loss to get rid of their manager, however as we don't seem to have any intention of sacking Gus for the remainder of his 18 months left on his contract then I suppose I'll be happy enough with a 4-0 win on Saturday.
  4. Hamilton could punch another 5 goals in tonight and he'd still be the least of our worries.
  5. Difference in us with gozie in is night and day. Having Mcantee At CB allows us to play higher up the pitch than with McLean and no surprise we had more control of the second half.
  6. Between the injury to your player, the time wasting you were booked for and the ones you weren't booked for plus multiple subs 8 mins is probably about right, but I would say that teehee.
  7. Had so much to say on that game about how shite we are, how walking football would be too pacey for McLean and how two of our players kicking the ball off their own faces in the first half sums up our attacking play, but in the end accies time wasting the whole 2nd half leading to multiple yellow cards followed by accies fans celebrating our free kick thinking it's the final whistle and then us scoring a 97th minute equaliser certainly brightened up my Saturday night.
  8. Still remember being at accies game this season and thinking we'd put in a dogged performance against a talented side that completely outplayed us and we had done well to get three points after a good point the week previously vs title favourites Dunfermline. Wish the season had ended there and then in my fantasy world.
  9. Not sure where your wide difference in definition between lead with his elbow and a flailing elbow comes from but to me they are both similar expressions. Reckless and excessive force when not in control of your body is a foul in today's game whether it is intentional or the player is using his body when attempting to play the ball. Czech Republic received a penalty vs Croatia in the euros for an almost identical situation where the defender headed the ball clear and caught Schick with his elbow in the process, and that was after multiple officials looked at it again on VAR. The angle of the camera and the pillar blocking it doesn't give us the view of the motion of the elbow when jumping so not sure how you can say with such certainty that it's a terrible refereeing decision based on the footage. What other players have seen and called for is irrelevant to the referees decision. I personally turned to my mate before the ref had even considered pointing to the spot with a look to say we got away with one there before he gave the decision seconds later and then had to explain to my mate what he'd given it for as he was as oblivious as most of the stadium seemed to be.
  10. I saw it from the cowshed at the time without a giant pillar blocking the contact and Mcantee definitely seemed to catch the Arbroath player with an elbow motion to the face as he was heading it rather than just using him as leverage to help his jump. Highlights not as conclusive either way as I was hoping for but I've saw nothing in the video that proves he didn't catch him with a flailing elbow, which would be a foul regardless if he won the header or not.
  11. Disagree actually. Leading with your elbow like that would be a foul anywhere else on the pitch regardless if you win the header or not. I'd have certainly been shouting for a penalty if it was in the other box. If I remember correctly a team was punished vs Czech Republic in euros for something similar. Harsh on Mcantee who's just trying to win the header but I have no real issue with it being given under the current laws of the game. The referee certainly wasn't cheating us out of 2 points with his decision, and I actually respect the fact he gave the decision despite barely anyone claiming for it, which has been used as a reason from some for why it was never a penalty.
  12. Thought we were the better team apart from 20 mins at end of first half but lacked a real cutting edge up front that perhaps Gozie would have given us. Still plenty plus points in terms of performance but these are the sort of 3 points you look back on at the end of the season and wish you'd held on for. I thought Mcantee was very reckless with his elbow despite winning the header cleanly. If it was outside the box it would be a clear foul and if it happened in the other box I'd have been screaming for a penalty. Harsh on the players and a bit harsh on Mcantee who was just going for a header but on first viewing I can't complain too much. Happy to be proven wrong in highlights though in which case I'll be a frothing mess and will kick Nicky Low's crutches next time he delivers my dinner to me.
  13. Aye cause its only teams with all white players who's fans have racially abused someone in the past. Total " some of my best players are black" nonsense. All depends on the context of it. Shower of monkeys if that's what's been said could have been at best an innocently intended but very unfortunate choice of words but equally if it was shouted at a point of the game where it was clearly in response to Ugwu's actions on the pitch then that's a completely different story. A full investigation should be conducted by the club and the person punished harshly if found to be guilty. Easy to pile on a club who has a fan accused of this but could have quite as easily been a moron in any stadium in the country.
  14. Our camera work for games has been absolutely fine since the second week of the covid restart but for some reason the last two home games it's taken a massive drop. Think it was the queen's game I used the stream for and the camera work was actually giving me a headache.
  15. I was right behind the shot in the cowshed. There was a big deflection and Hamilton had already dived and it flew past him. I'd have fancied him to save the original shot but just one of those things.
  16. Flap Jack has been arguably our most consistent performer this season and been comfortably better than McAdams in my opinion who won all our player of the year awards last year and who I was a fan of. Thought the only foot wrong he put today was when he almost went over on his ankle collecting the ball from the wee Dublin end. Delighted with him so far and long may it continue. I would like him to look to play balls out to the back line when they are on as we had plenty opportunities to today where he hoofed it forward but I get the feeling he's being told specifically not to do that and for us to win second balls from knockdowns in the final third.
  17. Didn't think our players were any worse than Raith's on the day but the difference felt like they were an average team playing badly but with a system set out by the manager that suited their players and were able to eek out a win in the end because of that, while we were an average team playing badly but set up by a manager to chase lost causes and win second balls off hopeless long balls and crosses. When we did actually get our foot on the ball on the odd occasion we gave raith problems but it was all too rare. Felt sorry for Oksanen and Lyon in Central midfield who were playing a different sport to the rest of the Morton players at times.
  18. Not a bad half for us. Defending pretty well and had a couple of opportunities on the break. Oksanen looks tidy and his set pieces are night and day compared to what we've had this season. Allan looked a little bit lost to me. Couple of good moments and a few poor ones but it's still early. Reilly looks decent and could be a good foil for Gozie as well. Main downside for me is our central defenders booting the ball up the park aimlessly every time they get it, regardless if there's anyone around them. Have to wonder if its a tactic from gus to do that but the ball is coming straight back at us and not letting our midfielders get on the ball much. Allan in particular was getting more and more frustrated every time the ball was hoofed up to no one. Really enjoying killie stream again just like the Premier cup game. Very professional set up.
  19. Steven Naismith been with the latest Scotland squad coaching. Localish boy that isn't in the merry-go-round of shite lower league managers, and might upset some killie fans as a bonus.
  20. Only thing more amusing than signing a lot of Morton dross who wanted to play for Hopkin again is them signing and then him being gone by early September.
  21. Jay Rodriguez was at Stirling for a season and did alright from what I remember.
