  1. The work rate and standards bit I don't really understand, it almost feels like a part of the article was deleted and he's accidentally left that paragraph in by mistake. The part about Dougie not doing media due to being unhappy about the squad/ability to offer trialists a deal will be true as he did it last summer as well during the Easdale striker/pre Dalrada era, and also Dodds clearly knows the reasons why the manager has been sending Millen to talk to him instead of doing it himself.
  2. I'd be happier to believe a player who played on it than taking it on how it looked to fans as there are ways to cover up how bad it is. The pitch was awful against St Mirren so I can't imagine it's got much better in such a short space of time. Either way I'm sure there was a great feeling at cappielow this morning
  3. I'm probably an outlier in the Morton support in that I think Strapps level is not much higher than a mid level championship team. Perhaps he could be a squad player for a title challenging team or a bottom six Premier league team but I'm not convinced he would pull up any trees. He's a hard wee b*****d and flies in to tackles etc so he's an easy player to like but the higher he goes the more I'd worry about his height, speed, set piece defending and his ability to keep possession which can be erratic at best especially during times when he's not at peak confidence. I hope he goes on to prove me badly wrong though and has a excellent career. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery to thrive.
  4. Baird seemed to be holding his hand/wrist/arm area so hopefully there's nothing broken there as we do not have the defensive cover to replace him. Although in saying that I do know one centre back who's on the lookout for a pro contract....
  5. Tidser with the first official " they're good at what they do" of the season in his post match interview. You love to see it.
  6. There was probably about 50 st mirren fans left by the time the players were going back in to the dressing room. There was absolutely no safety concerns for a trophy presentation on the pitch and there never would have been. We played the Renfrewshire cup final every year for god knows how long at a time when the rivalry was more intense and we managed trophy presentations just fine.
  7. The club said in one of their articles on twitter that it's at close to 2500 tickets so far so will be decent enough crowd for a friendly.
  8. Game was abandoned as he had to wait for the ambulance to arrive for a dislocated knee. It's worse for Doyle because he was only on trial for training purposes with no hope of winning a contract and now his season is potentially in danger with no contract.
  9. Came on with 30 mins to go and the match was stopped and abandoned about 30 seconds later. Will make a good tiktok story for him at least.
  10. We are both one of the worst full time clubs in the country based on wages offered who for years have been in the same market for the dregs of full time football players hanging on to their last hopes before going part time, especially at the point you released him. When you're released by Ayr or Morton for not being good enough then there's not really much lower to go, I'm shocked that this is a surprise to you, so for Baird to score the amount of goals he scored and be arguably our player of the year is testament to just how obvious it is that Boyd is going to break all Scottish football goalscoring records next season.
  11. Grant Gillespie couldn't get a game in league one 2 seasons ago and scored double figures. Jack Baird was released by one of the worst full time teams in Scotland and scored 7 goals. George Oakley scored over 23% of his career total goals in 13 games for us last season. Wee Boydy will be the league top scorer next season mark my words.
  12. Gorgeous George is only interested in goals at Morton. What a man
  13. Look forward to opposition managers calling him a thug next season now he plays for big bad morton along with the rest of our midgets.
  14. Imrie has an astonishing success rate for signings that he used to play with that fans of their previous clubs think aren't good enough so I'm not too concerned with this signing. He seems to have a knack for getting the best out of these players on their last chance at full time football in Scotland with a point to prove so hoping Boyd is the same.
  15. Such a brave decision to stay. I'm glad to see that he's a changed man and learned from the errors of his past.
  16. If he's as slow as he looked on Saturday there's not a chance that broadfoot will play rb for us. Maybe shove O'connor out there but I still think we need a pignatiello type cover even if it's not Doyle.
  17. Ah the old pretend you're signing a rapist so that the shite signing you do announce doesn't seem so bad shtick. A real classic. Calling him a player with Premier league experience is akin to our admin saying we were signing someone with champions league experience and then announcing Kaz Sterling on loan from spurs.
  18. Doesn't do anything stand-outish but just does everything correct. So composed on the ball and seems to have more time on the ball than other players on the pitch in this league. There's many good players in the championship but not many you look at and think he's clearly too good for this level but grimshaw was one. Only worry for a Dundee utd perspective is that he's not a great attacking fullback and suited our style so perhaps he may not suit a side that wants fullbacks to bomb on.
  19. Brian graham after he realises it was him and his teammates that shafted Partick this time.
