There was probably about 50 st mirren fans left by the time the players were going back in to the dressing room. There was absolutely no safety concerns for a trophy presentation on the pitch and there never would have been. We played the Renfrewshire cup final every year for god knows how long at a time when the rivalry was more intense and we managed trophy presentations just fine.

We are both one of the worst full time clubs in the country based on wages offered who for years have been in the same market for the dregs of full time football players hanging on to their last hopes before going part time, especially at the point you released him. When you're released by Ayr or Morton for not being good enough then there's not really much lower to go, I'm shocked that this is a surprise to you, so for Baird to score the amount of goals he scored and be arguably our player of the year is testament to just how obvious it is that Boyd is going to break all Scottish football goalscoring records next season.

Grant Gillespie couldn't get a game in league one 2 seasons ago and scored double figures. Jack Baird was released by one of the worst full time teams in Scotland and scored 7 goals. George Oakley scored over 23% of his career total goals in 13 games for us last season. Wee Boydy will be the league top scorer next season mark my words.

Imrie has an astonishing success rate for signings that he used to play with that fans of their previous clubs think aren't good enough so I'm not too concerned with this signing. He seems to have a knack for getting the best out of these players on their last chance at full time football in Scotland with a point to prove so hoping Boyd is the same.

Forfar Athletic News 2018 onwards

Such a brave decision to stay. I'm glad to see that he's a changed man and learned from the errors of his past. -
Ah the old pretend you're signing a rapist so that the shite signing you do announce doesn't seem so bad shtick. A real classic. Calling him a player with Premier league experience is akin to our admin saying we were signing someone with champions league experience and then announcing Kaz Sterling on loan from spurs.

Doesn't do anything stand-outish but just does everything correct. So composed on the ball and seems to have more time on the ball than other players on the pitch in this league. There's many good players in the championship but not many you look at and think he's clearly too good for this level but grimshaw was one. Only worry for a Dundee utd perspective is that he's not a great attacking fullback and suited our style so perhaps he may not suit a side that wants fullbacks to bomb on.

Looks like Coyle hates Queens Park more than all of us combined. -
Miles ahead of where I expected. From a pre season where we were already tipped for relegation to then one where the managers budget was drastically cut to the point he almost left the club at one point because of it and with a real looming financial crisis on the cards and the potential failure of fan ownership that lead to us naming one sub and the son of our main sponsor starting the season as our only striker to receiving transformative investment from Dalrada without giving up any control of the club that allowed us to improve all aspects of the club, purchase land outside the ground to transform in to some sort of fan experience pre match next season, and build a competitive squad of decent and hard working players in the image of what Morton fans desire most from their players that were enjoyable to watch most weeks, the majority of which are all signed up for next season. It's been one of the most enjoyable seasons for us in a while, and a lot of that is to do with how for the first time in a lot of the fans lifetimes, the club feels closer to the community and heading in the right direction off the pitch as much as on it, which is why although missing the playoffs on goal difference was disappointing, I've yet to speak to a Morton fan who wasn't over it almost instantly and looking forward to next season.

Airdrie v Falkirk, 1st leg

At this point I'd take Falkirk coming back and losing the final instead so we can laugh at Airdrie as well. -

There's going to be a generation of Falkirk supporting kids who have never seen their club playing Scottish Championship football. Wee shame for them.
