  1. Yes for the league, although I did enjoy the League Cup group stage as well (funnily the time when Ray hoped to join big Dunc at FGR, coincidence?). Whether people count those performances as valid or not, it was still enjoyable.
  2. I liked Smokie, but as others have said he never really got going, had some good games and was doing decent as a LWB when Brindley was injured in our 3/5 at the back phase. Wish him the best.
  3. Interesting lineup for Forfar. Rusty has been dropped, Rayan needs to capitalise on this opportunity, also it's good to see Thommo and Seb get a start.
  4. Andy Munro to get his first goal of the season with a header and goes loony in front of Stenny supporters. Only for Matty Aitken to bag a second half hat-trick, with a trio of assists from Meechan. Will the above happen, no but it would be entertaining.
  5. In Pendle's defence the mint kit was bespoke so perhaps we can hope that from now on we're done with straight from the catalogue shirts. However, nobody would be upset if we did change suppliers.
  6. If anyone watched Ray's interview he's pubically said he was playing for 0-0 in the first half and wanted to change things at HT. Also, he said Forfar were excellent the first 25 minutes. For me the first half wasn't anything between the teams, Marc made a fine save but sadly he could only palm it away to an open Scullion. Second half Forfar had a little more impetus and we were probably the better team after 90, although I doubt many would complain if it was a draw. Munro was clearly psyched for this match and was given MOTM for his performance. Munro did have many doubters at the start of the season (me included, he was my 5th choice CB) but he has stepped up with Morrison moving in midfield and Allan being played as a fullback. Finlay Allan had a decent game for us, Rusty didn't do much and I was glad Rayan did not too bad when he came on - yes he got fortunate for his goal. Whilst it's still mathematically possible for us to be relegated I think we'll be fine now, will that mean players can play with more freedom? No, because Ray and creative free playing football don't mix.

  8. Agreed, and then Forfar to be 3-0 up at HT against Peterhead...oh wait...
  9. A few "supporters" have been banned and criminal charges raised against at least one individual following the fracas after Spartans and Peterhead matches. https://www.forfarathletic.co.uk/item/5816-club-statement-28
  10. Draw them and we continue to be uneasy. Probably the most likely, we are after all draw specialists due to our inability to play a good 90 minutes. Much preferring to flip flop between abysmal and alright each half.
  11. True, although I said Lower and west. Kelty and Spartans were Lower league teams. However, Cove definitely is the outlier in my previous statement.
  12. Forfar fan coming in here. Whilst I think it most likely will be Clyde finishing 10th. I wouldn't put it past Forfar to absolutely chuck it and snatch relegation out of the jaws of mid table mediocrity (what a depressing sentence). Personally I'd love Brechin to make a return and we can have a lovely Angus derby next season, but it realistically will be East Kilbride as the latest of lower league and west of Scotland league teams to throw money around having budgets many times bigger than more historical SPFL teams.
  13. What we have is a decent team in inconsistent form versus a poor team that have grinded out some decent form (in the most boring way possible). This could be 0-0 as both teams can attest to this quote: "how difficult we make it look to kick a bit of rubber and plastic between two big white sticks."
  14. Lack of vision. There's no long-term plan for the club, not even a short-term plan as while I don't think the board (broad generalisation, I'm sure) want us to drop into the Highland League I don't think they're particularly concerned if we do. I've said it before what is there to attract fans or players to Forfar? We're not a true engaging community club, we're not a moneybags club, we're not a development club, we're just an uninteresting football club in a awkward location in Scotland (we're not as remote as say Elgin/Stranraer, but we're not a central belt club that's a short commute for most part-time players).* *For clarification I don't think Angus is an awkward location in Scotland generally. It's really beautiful and friendly and a great place to live! I was merely explaining the awkwardness for most part time footballers in terms of time commuting after a hard day's work in their day jobs.
  15. Makes a lot more sense than the Patty sale in my opinion. I wonder which "top regional junior team" is after his signature?
  16. Considering how dull and poor Forfar have been seeing us 2nd in the form table is quite a shock!
  17. "If you want them to toe the line you need to engage them instead of just putting out statements condemning them." 100% agree!
