  1. I'm an unsteady 58,due to my postman's lot - yes I'd love to get back to football, but I can't see the non league changing rooms, the after match celebrations, social distancing, and even some fans' insistence on spending all the day in the pub and then going to the games ever being deemed safe even 75% Am hoping that the majority of fans are sensible , that a vaccine is found asap, and that we can give it a go. Games played around Bristol BCD and/or with crowds of 50+ yesterday.Bizarre.

  2. Whatever your name is today, I realise you love the Junior game, clubs, grade etc, and have been following that for years. The West clubs made a decision to move into senior football, progression, the same clubs exist at the same grounds. The east/North juniors are still going next season, get along and enjoy the games. Some of your comments are born out of real desire for the grade,I admire that- but the almost hatred of senior football ,for whatever reason,is way over the top, worrying 😨

  3. Decent EOS email stating the obvious, just part of society that can't obey anything, above the law etc. Watch the news and spot the idiots acting like normal, crap upbringing I'd guess. We are all looking forward to the season starting again, patience the key. Would be surprised to see a start this side of Christmas if people/clubs carry on regardless.

  4. Have seen plenty of improvement down in the English non league over the years, from going up into County level (step 7)  and beyond. However the biggest problems I've seen around clubs is the number of volunteers required to get things moving. Be excellent to see a constant pyramid in Scotland resulting in a 2 up and down into the spfl one day.

  5. Would be a good move to create a cup for the now enlarged senior leagues - the junior cup is on its knees, whilst the Scottish Cup only rewards one or two clubs. Some of the various league cups must be close to going under, or put on hold for a few seasons now.

  6. You cynic you 😇 All seems fairly typical of modern football, bring along 'business types'  who may be good in their field - but dispense of the real football people. Sounds like a clown buying an EFL 2 club and starts mentioning the Premier League, management (bollocks) speak. Best wishes to the genuine fans of Darvel.

  7. Can we get to see the surveys questions anywhere ?  Guess the crowd thing, paint marks on the barriers 2m apart then use common sense. Can imagine how clubs use changing rooms, catering etc was a top question to be answered. Fingers crossed then.

  8. As usual it's a merry go round with managers and players, new boss gets players that he knows - club offers more money, the word quickly gets around. Long gone are the players making 200 apps for one club, it's not something I like myself, just the way the game works. Always hard on the fans as we have no say on what happens in the clubs regarding managers and players.

  9. Quite a few West clubs are in enclosed grounds surrounded by the  mesh netting in areas, would be fairly expensive to make the grounds unseen from the outside. Sure that before long a few more clubs will work hard to get licensed, lights and cover are a big step, progress all the way. Good that standards have to be met before promotions happen, shows clubs are serious.

  10. All we need is for the North juniors to get on board, possibly join the pyramid and go a little bit senior - we'll have chaos on here with some people ! At least some different grounds for me to visit, don't get over to the EOS or North on my travels, something to look forward to. Enjoy the grade, watching the same clubs in the new league.

  11. One thing I've found is that loads of the West grounds are fairly easy to find - I'm on trains and buses and usually find a few pubs on the way  to keep me going. Another cracker was Shotts v Fauldhouse in a pre season friendly 18/19, a pity the clubhouse next door wasn't open !

  12. Bit early for committee changes isn't it ?  As to comparisons, did Gretna live the dream and are their fans happier now ? Celtic Nation were a right old mix up, with the ground and clubhouse issues, didn't really know where they were heading. Darvel ? Where do you expect to be in say 10 years time, attracting what crowds ?

  13. Looks very similar to the old North Juniors , have they deserted to the East en masse ? All just football to me I'm afraid, good luck to everyone when we finally kick off. Enjoy watching the 'grade' ,just give up on the traitor nonsense 💔 still the same clubs playing at the same grounds.

Maybe that's the reason then, up to 30 spread about the ground. Thought that had been changed - ps step 7 is County League level downwards I think.  Looking at the Arsenal fans in a pub, looks as if it's all back to normal down south.

Played Brislington tonight (western prem). Had to be behind closed doors.

How did things go with the players etc, all turn up in single cars, no showers - was that at Ironmould Lane ? Guessing you didn't use the clubhouse after ? All interesting stuff to get things going somehow.

  15. Maybe a new stadium, naming rights, portable pitch, other events being staged. Lack of investment usually ends in a crap, poor looking stadium, all depends is say Coca Cola can imagine 10-20 sell out gigs, which would make up for 5 or 6 games of football. Out of interest, what % of Scottish fans come from outside the 2 big cities ?

  16. Think Scottish football will be ok without salary caps, the money is basically created by the big two and the tv deals. Can't imagine clubs would be wildly overspending (look at the sickening debts in the EPL)  Covid19 aside, we don't hear many stories about clubs on the verge of collapse in Scotland - not exactly overrun with sugar daddies up north, think clubs will just tighten their belts.

  17. Think any club who can average 4-5,000 isn't doing too bad, considering the power of Glasgow, Edinburgh. Suppose the startling thing to an outsider is seeing a club get 500 in a professional league, whether they're part time or not. Think we have to take average crowds against a much changed world nowadays - with the many options that people have on offer.

  18. Wracking my brain to see a beneficial reconstruction for Scotland, just can't see anything coming to fruition anytime soon. Clubs are so defensive of the 42, would like to see the biggest 6 non lge clubs make it into the spfl  sometime. Guess that the OF are like chains around the clubs, can't live without them it seems. Am sure the fans would like something new, but don't know what exactly.

    Cheers pal

Forget the Juniors, I'm sure that you can make the step up into West Senior football, then get spotted by  a scout - go and enjoy the game wherever you end up. Go West young man 👏

  20. Must confess I've seen bits of pass and move in a few games,  and a few players who shouldn't have tried to do it ! Saw an excellent game at Holm Park : scottish amateurs v  central, impressed by the standard and attitude on show. Can't wait to get back to Scotland, see a few more games, visit some new grounds.
