Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts 1-2 Dundonald Bluebell @ Dalgety Bay Sports Centre . Friday night action under the lights in EoSFL Premier Division. The visitors recovered from going a goal down early on to secure the 3 points with a 2nd half winner ️. Great crowd of 318.

Scotland 3-0 Ukraine @ Hampden Park. UEFA Nations League B, Group 1. After a tough start Scotland blow the visitors away with a brilliant 2nd half performance. John McGinn ️ with the opener before substitute Lyndon Dykes ️️ headed in twice. Crowd 42,846.

Leith Athletic 4-2 Lochore Welfare @ Meadowbank Stadium . EoSFL Division 1 action. 1-0 at the break, Leith led 3-0 before the visitors fought back and pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages. An injury time Leith goal (Kayne Paterson ) settled it. Crowd 84.

Spartans 2-0 Aberdeen @ Ainslie Park Stadium . Scottish Women’s Premier League. A keenly contested game that hinged on a 2nd half sending off . The 10 women of Spartans rallied round and deservedly went on to win, the first judged to be just over the line. Crowd 116.

St Johnstone 0-0 Ross County @ McDiarmid Park . 3pm kick-off in the Scottish Premiership. Both sides hit the woodwork in a frantic first ⏱ 10 mins but a game that became increasingly tense and neither could find a winner. Crowd 3355.

Jeanfield Swifts 1-5 Brechin City ... First up on Saturday 17 September a 12.30pm kick-off @ Riverside Stadium. Scottish Cup 1st Round. Goalless at the break Brechin opened the scoring and were quickly 3-0 up. Swifts got one back and pushed hard but Brechin added two more late on. Crowd 500 odd.

Syngenta 2-4 Auchinleck Talbot @ Ochilview Park . Scottish Cup 1st Round. The home side ahead early on but Talbot finally got going and led 2-1 at half-time. 3-1 down Syngenta pulled one back but the visitors sealed it in the last minute. Crowd 600 ish.

Hibernian 0-4 Glasgow City @ Meadowbank Stadium 🏟 . Scottish Women’s Premier League. The visitors proved too strong racing into a 4-0 lead at half-time. Both sides saw penalties saved as there was no further scoring in a hard fought 2nd half. Crowd of around 350.

Heart of Midlothian 0-4 Istanbul Basakehir @ Tynecastle Park. UEFA Conference League. Hearts outclassed by the visitors in the rain . A half time tannoy announcement informing us that HM Queen Elizabeth II had sadly passed away and a minutes silence was held. Crowd 15,131.

FC St Helens 2-3 Euxton Villa @ Windleshaw Sports on Saturday 3 September. Really good game between 2 of the North West Counties Football League’s newest clubs. The home side ahead 2-1 early in the 2nd half but picked up a straight red card and the visitors won it with 2 great goal. Crowd 58.

Everton 0-0 Liverpool @ Goodison Park. 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday and a pretty frantic game that either side could have won but it somehow ended goalless. Mo Salah hit the woodwork in injury time and the ball somehow stayed out. Crowd 39,240.

Rangers 3-1 Queen of the South @ Ibrox Stadium . Premier Sports Cup R2 action in Glasgow and not a bad effort at all from League 1 Queens. The highlight a 17th minute equaliser . Rangers only sealing the win in the 86th minute. Crowd 30,569 with just under 1000 away fans.

Early start for Liverpool U18 4-2 Manchester United U18 @ LFC Academy on Saturday 27th August. Really good game with Trent Kone-Doherty putting the home side 2-0 up at the break. United pulled one back but a 3rd and 4th followed before a late penalty. Ben Doak outstanding. Crowd 175.

Heart of Midlothian 0-1 FC Zurich (1-3 on Aggregate) @ Tynecastle Park. UEFA Europa League PO. Hearts are impressive for 54 minutes but don’t take their chances and are reduced to 10 men. FC Zurich finished the tie off with a goal with 10 minutes to go. Crowd 17,225.

FC Edinburgh 3-2 Stranraer @ Meadowbank Stadium . The home side through to Round 3 of the SPFL Trust Trophy thanks to a Danny Handling hat-trick . Stranraer competed well but didn’t take their chances and the 2nd came too late in injury time. Crowd 248.

Edinburgh United 2-2 Ormiston Primrose @ Paties Road Stadium on Tuesday 23rd August. United twice came from behind ️ to earn a fourth successive draw in East of Scotland League Division 2. Both sides with chances to win it in the closing stages but it ended honours even. Crowd 49.

Manchester United 2-1 Liverpool @ Old Trafford. Premier League MNF. Man United take the 3 points against a poor away side. Sancho & Rashford . Mo Salah pulled one back as Liverpool got going late on but couldn’t find an equaliser. Crowd 75,000 ish.

Armadale Thistle 1-2 Tranent @ Creamery Park , Bathgate on Sunday. South Challenge Cup R1. The Lowland League visitors prove too strong against EoSFL, Division 3 Armadale. The home side pulling a goal back with the last meaningful kick of the game. Crowd 271.

Bonnyrigg Rose 0-2 Albion Rovers @ New Dundas Park. The 31 bus to Midlothian for last Saturday’s SPFL League 2 fixture. The home side didn’t really get going early on and it was Rovers who opened the scoring after half an hour before adding a 2nd late on. Crowd 1057.

Spartans 0-1 Rangers B @ Ainslie Park Stadium ... SPFL Trust Trophy R1 action on Wednesday 10 August. A tight game that looked to be heading for penalties until a late Rangers free kick beat the Spartans wall and found the back of the net. Crowd 331.

Tynecastle 3-0 Newburgh @ Meggetland Stadium . Caught the 2nd half on the way home. Tynecastle comfortably into the EOS Qualifying Cup 3rd Round with 2 headed goals after the break making the game safe. Crowd 71.
