  2. Biggar United 1-0 Leithen Rovers @ Biggar Rugby Club ... a dip into the Border Ams last night. Walls Cup QF. The visitors on top in the 1st half but Biggar seemed to frustrate them with a high line and they snatched a winner 20 minutes from time. Crowd 43.
  3. Last Saturday ... Manchester City 2-3 Liverpool @ Wembley Stadium 🏟. A brilliant 1st half performance saw Liverpool 3-0 up at half time before they survived a 2nd half comeback to reach the FA Cup Final. Crowd 73,793.
  4. Blidworth Welfare 2-0 Ashland Rovers @ Welfare Ground. Good Friday hat-trick ️️️ completed in the Central Midland League, South Division. A deserved win for the promotion chasing home side with a goal in each half. Attendance 107, the highest crowd of the season.
  5. Harrogate Town 1-4 Swindon Town @ Wetherby Road on Friday . 3pm kick-off in League 2 and a comfortable win for the impressive visitors who led 2-0 at half time and 4-0 after an hour. Crowd 2933 including 600 from Swindon. That’s me up to 70/92.
  6. Newton Aycliffe 0-0 Whickham @ Moore Lane Sports Club . First up on Good Friday a 12noon kick off in the Northern League Division 1 ... stalemate. A couple of good saves and blocks at both ends but no one could find the breakthrough. Crowd 190.
  7. Well deserved win for Bonnyrigg. Spartans hit the post twice at 2-0 but Rose too strong. Final on Sunday 22nd May .
  8. Spartans 1-4 Bonnyrigg Rose @ Ainslie Park last night. The Rose reach the South Challenge Cup Final with a deserved win. Ahead after 2 minutes, the woodwork did save Bonnyrigg twice at 2-0 but they led 4-0 until a late consolation. Sauchie or Auchinleck await. Crowd 400 odd.
  9. Manchester City 2-2 Liverpool @ Etihad Stadium 🏟. The top 2 in the Premier League meet and what a game. The home side twice in front through De Bruyne & Jesus with Jota & Mane levelling and the points were shared. 1 point in it with 7 games to go. Crowd 53,197.
  10. Edinburgh United 0-3 Kirkcaldy & Dysart @ Paties Road Stadium . The visitors secured a 13th straight league win in a hard fought game. Goals on 9, 41 and then 75 minutes to end any hopes of a comeback in what was to be United manager Ian Flynn’s last game in charge. Crowd 38.
  11. Scotland 7-1 Estonia ... Friday afternoon 1pm kick-off @ Ainslie Park. UEFA Women’s U19 Championship 2022. Scotland come from behind to record a big win. A bit harsh on Estonia but finishing pretty clinical. Crowd 250 odd.
  12. It's a horrendous league. I've seen a few games and the standard is woeful. I’ve seen a few too. Just saying let’s no get too carried away about ourselves in the East .
  13. It's a glorified amateur league. Lol ... let’s not kid ourselves on - most of the football at our level is. Too many too quick to rubbish the SOS.
  14. Gala Fairydean Rovers 2-0 Dundonald Bluebell @ Netherdale on Wednesday night . Gala progressed to the semi finals of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup with a deserved win. Both goals came in the 1st half which also featured a torrential downpour ️. Crowd 82.
  15. Can only see a single point relegation for the Vale and another relegation battle for WW next season sadly.
  16. Skelmersdale United 2-0 Lower Breck @ JMO Sports Park on Saturday . North West Counties League Premier Division. Skem secure 2nd place and a play off spot with a goal ️ 10 minutes before half time and 6 minutes from time ️. Big crowd of 417.

  18. Penicuik Athletic 1-3 Whitburn @ Penicuik Park on Wednesday . The hosts came flying out the traps but couldn’t find an early goal and Whitburn deservedly went on to win and blow EoS League Cup, Group K wide open. Bitterly cold conditions for end of March. Crowd around 175.
  19. Georgia 1-6 Scotland @ Falkirk Stadium on Tuesday. UEFA Euro U17 Championship 21-22. Scotland swept aside the young Georgians with Liverpool bound Ben Doak stealing the show with a brilliant performance and hat-trick ️️️. Attendance 453.
  20. Penicuik came flying out the traps but the Whitburn defence stood firm and they went on to deservedly win at a wintry Penicuik Park. I’m struggling to see how United can still top the group HJ?
  21. Scotland U21 0-2 Turkey U21 @ Tynecastle Park on Friday night.
  22. Scotland 1-1 Poland @ Hampden Park on Thursday.
