  1. Manchester United 2-1 Liverpool @ Old Trafford. Premier League MNF. Man United take the 3 points against a poor away side. Sancho & Rashford . Mo Salah pulled one back as Liverpool got going late on but couldn’t find an equaliser. Crowd 75,000 ish.
  2. Armadale Thistle 1-2 Tranent @ Creamery Park , Bathgate on Sunday. South Challenge Cup R1. The Lowland League visitors prove too strong against EoSFL, Division 3 Armadale. The home side pulling a goal back with the last meaningful kick of the game. Crowd 271.
  3. Bonnyrigg Rose 0-2 Albion Rovers @ New Dundas Park. The 31 bus to Midlothian for last Saturday’s SPFL League 2 fixture. The home side didn’t really get going early on and it was Rovers who opened the scoring after half an hour before adding a 2nd late on. Crowd 1057.
  4. Oxgangs Trinity 0-8 Livingston Community AFC @ Colinton Mains Park, Edinburgh. LEAFA Sunday Morning Championship . 14.08.22. A dominant performance from the visitors some them run out big winners. Crowd 23 + 4 dogs .
  5. Edinburgh United 1-1 Lochgelly Albert @ Paties Road Stadium on Saturday 13th August 2022. East of Scotland League Division 2. A tight game that came to life in the 2nd half. The home side went in front only to be pegged back from the penalty spot moments later. Crowd 47.
  6. Spartans 0-1 Rangers B @ Ainslie Park Stadium ... SPFL Trust Trophy R1 action on Wednesday 10 August. A tight game that looked to be heading for penalties until a late Rangers free kick beat the Spartans wall and found the back of the net. Crowd 331.
  7. Tynecastle 3-0 Newburgh @ Meggetland Stadium . Caught the 2nd half on the way home. Tynecastle comfortably into the EOS Qualifying Cup 3rd Round with 2 headed goals after the break making the game safe. Crowd 71.
  8. Edinburgh United 1-3 Edinburgh University @ Paties Road Stadium last night. 6.45pm kick-off in the EOS Qualifying Cup 2nd Round. United started well and led their LL opponents 1-0 half time, James Flynn ️ with a brilliant goal. The Uni stepped it up though in the 2nd half. Crowd 47.
  9. Fisher 0-0 Sutton Common Rovers ... FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round @ St Paul’s Sports Ground . Headed across London as fast as I could and made it midway through the 1st half. The home side increasingly on top but couldn’t score and it goes to a replay . Crowd 250 ish.
  10. Fulham 2-2 Liverpool @ Craven Cottage . Opening day of the 2022-23 Premier League season and an early start. Fulham made life very difficult for the visitors who were far from their best and were forced to come from behind twice and settle for a point. Crowd around 22,000.
  11. Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale 1-2 Penicuik Athletic @ Ainslie Park Stadium. Friday night EOSFL, Premier Division action in the capital. Penicuik reduced to 10 men (DOGSO) but take the lead. Lothian level before HT but the visitors snatch it 6 minutes from time. Crowd 106.
  12. Edinburgh South 0-3 Heriot-Watt University @ Paties Road Stadium on Wednesday night. Back to Colinton for more midweek EOSFL Division 2 action with South ground-sharing here this season. The visitors, 2-0 up at the break, run out convincing winners. Crowd 68.
  13. Edinburgh United 1-1 University of Stirling EOS @ Paties Road Stadium last Tuesday night. The points end up shared in East of Scotland League, Division 2 but United should have come from behind to win it in the closing stages. Both goals midway through the 2nd half. Crowd 64.
  14. Stopped off at Liverpool 0-3 RC Strasbourg Alsace @ Anfield on the way back. Wouldn’t normally post about home games but not in my seat and got a shot of the Anfield Road redevelopment. Pre-season Friendly. The visitors race into a 3 goal lead inside the opening 25 minutes and that completes the scoring against a young Liverpool side + James Milner. Crowd around 50,000.
  15. Leicester Nirvana 1-0 Belper United @ Hamilton Park. Noon kick-off last Sunday in the United Counties League Premier Division North. Both sides missed chance after chance, including a penalty each, before the home side won it on 87 ... from the spot! Crowd 285.

  18. Melton Town 2-0 Selston @ Melton Sports Village . Saturday night United Counties League Premier Division North action and the home side secure the points with goals shortly before and after half time to get their new season up and running. The home of the Melton Mowbray pie! Crowd 316.
  19. That is the kind of walk after tea I’m talking about lol. Great wee set up at LH ... wouldn’t be surprised to see them in the EOSFL next season.

  21. Liverpool 3-1 Manchester City @ King Power Stadium. The Reds deservedly win the FA Community Shield in Leicester 🛡. Mo Salah & Darwin Nunez with late goals after Man City had equalised Trent Alexander Arnold’s 1st half strike. Standard frightening and a great game. Crowd 28,545.
  22. Barrow Town 1-5 Radford @ Riverside Park in the United Counties League 1st Division on Saturday. Handy 1.45pm kick-off just outside Leicester with the visitors running out convincing winners. The home featured 3 different goalkeepers. Crowd 240.
  23. Linton Hotspur 2-2 Tweeddale Rovers @ New Moor Road last Thursday night. Really good friendly match at a cracking wee ground. Loads of chances at both ends and the woodwork hit 4 times. The home side 2-0 up in the 2nd half but Tweeddale pulled back level. Crowd 58.
