  1. Ross Wilson is said to be quite proficient in forward planning and ensuring continuity at clubs so I guess it's where we will see if he is worth the money or not. An ex Rangers player (e.g. Van Bronckhorst) should only be appointed if he believes they are a credible managerial candidate even when putting aside any ties to the club.
  2. Said as soon as the Villa links emerged that he'd be silly not to consider it seriously so I'm not surprised he has gone. Cheers Stevie, all the best. Now, please appoint someone competent, Rangers.
  3. Aye, I completely get that and agree. It’s an opportunity I think is probably too good for him to turn down and I was under no illusions he would be here for very long if he done well enough. It still doesn’t make it an easier pill to swallow though and leaves us in a very precarious position.
  4. So, what is the answer to my question? Would you appoint Lennon or Gerrard?
  5. Aye, it's not really been the case since the 90's. Sky and the billions the EPL receive have ensured any job in the league, regardless of who, most likely trumps Rangers or Celtic.
  6. Neil Lennon's CV will naturally look better as he has been a manager for 11 years in comparison to Gerrard's 3. Additionally, his managerial career has coincided with a period where Celtic have largely held a massive financial advantage over Rangers or Rangers were not in the same league. This, of course, is not the fault of Lennon, but is true nonetheless. He has been emptied from 3 of his 4 managerial appointments and left his Celtic legacy in tatters. The simple question would be: if you were forced to appoint either manager tomorrow, who would it be, Lennon or Gerrard?
  7. Surely nobody is suggesting Lennon is a better manager than Gerrard?
  8. I don't really have the faintest clue just now to be honest, but I am prepared to be underwhelmed by whoever it is given the current crop of available options. Bookies favourite is currently Alex Neil which does not fill me with much confidence at all. The rest of the names are much of a muchness. I'd personally like Beale to take it on, but I imagine he will be away with Gerrard.
  9. The BBC refuse to cover Rangers rather than Rangers deny them access.
  10. Surely Celtic fans would want him to stay then? The mainly jubilant response from them online to this news is a bit of of a giveaway.
  11. Gerrard dispatched Angeball from the comfort of his own living room with half a team missing.
  12. We truly are operating at a professional level here. Mystic Meg has been drafted in to help our future plans.
  13. SSN this morning reporting that Villa are yet to identify the preferred candidate to replace Smith. Sounds like they've likely sounded out Gerrard and possibly a few others if that is to be the case. May be complete bollocks right enough and he is making plans to move down south as we speak.
  14. Seems like it's not a case of when rather than if he goes. A few respected journalists for the Telegraph are now running with the story that Gerrard is interested in speaking to Villa.
  15. If it were a couple of weeks earlier I'd have suggested Eddie Howe just for some banter.
