    Well, that went well, eh?

Obita was rank rotten from the early stages and could've got a second yellow on more than one occasion before the final, and rather soft, offence.

The 2nd red was harsh but understandable these days. Dive in with two feet like that and the chances are you'll see a red, esp if you're playing against one of the Butt Cheeks.

Monty's subs are baffling. At Tynecastle, he put on a CB when Hibs were/ should have been looking to win the game against a Hearts side that had barely turned up. Wonder if there are other people with interests at other clubs pulling the strings? 🤔

Considering we only have one player on loan from Bournemouth and he’s been one of our best players we’ve had in the past few years this is quite a reach.

I think there's a conspiracy against teams from East Edinburgh- City have had more that a few dodgy decisions go against them too.

Damn those West Edinburgh Masonic Spartans and Hearts gits!

Now you mention it, the 2 Edinburgh clubs that love the Conservative & Unionist party getting decisions from a group of people that contain the leader of said party in Scotland 🤔.

Rangers & Celtic clearly have links to the party too 🤔.

  3. I usually try and be quite reasoned and understanding with referees, I have a colleague that does it and know it’s a hard job.

However, this is happening too often for it to be a coincidence.

The non-penalty against Aberdeen, Hearts’ ghost penalty, Celtic’s two nonsense penalties plus Boyle’s “dive” and now this, you’ve got to laugh.

I’m not suggesting there’s a conspiracy or an agenda against Hibs however some referees clearly have a dislike for Hibs or there must be something because for this to happen to us so often in a short space of time is beyond thinking, I don’t think there’s ever been a period of time following football where we’ve been on the wrong end of so many consecutive high profile decisions.

Just like all the games I mentioned we were the better team and worthy of winning, but once again we have our hand tied behind our back by those incompetent b*****ds.

Remember folk thought VAR would sort this out?

No word on Poland, but Croatia have announced that our game is in Zagreb.

Saw that last week, booked up for a few days in Split before travelling up to Zagreb on the Friday night.

Wasn’t massively impressed with Zagreb when I went however have been to Zadar and it was unbelievable, Split is just down the coast so it’ll be good to see somewhere new.

Suspect the weather will be better in Split too.

All the shares are being diluted but nobody is losing any money.

Lets be honest, HSL (I am a full member and contribute monthly) wasnt allowed to buy more shares already, so its not like theres some step change there either.

HSL’s are being reduced a lot more than the Gordon’s in terms of proportions.

  6. Can understand HSLs vote in honesty, they’re being fucked over with this and their already diluted share is being majorly reduced whereas the Gordon’s isn’t.

I would certainly rather HSL retained more shares than the Gordon’s.

Plus under the current regime we’re just pissing away money for no success, time will tell if Foleys money improves anything but I don’t trust the people in charge at the moment to use it wisely.

We’ve a far bigger budget than Kilmarnock, Dundee & St Mirren yet being outperformed by them this season due to these idiots so my faith that this will change anything unless changes are made in the boardroom is non existent.

  7. Anyone got any idea when we’re likely to hear the venues for Croatia/Poland?

Looking to get flights booked before prices fly up (pardon the pun) and it’s proving difficult to ensure we leave enough time to potentially get from one end of the country to another for a flight home.

  8. P&B’s very own good guy/w**k indicator.

Mods can we use peoples’ votes on this to determine whether they’re a good guy or not and put little icons at the corner of each person’s avatar?

I’ve gone beyond reasoning with people that like VAR, I’ve come across a few in real life, they’re simply people that are no fun to be around and think football is a science rather than entertainment.

    Yeah he's Hibs daft.

Unfortunately 4 ACLs have probably put paid to any chance he had of playing for them.

He’d have been a level above us if it hadn’t been for injuries I reckon, superb player even with them.

A massive Hibs fan aswell like you say.

  10. It really is mental to think that referees are against them.

Tonight couldn’t have been any clearer, if the roles were reversed tonight, Boyle’s one would have been given and the other two wouldn’t have.

And once again I am using this opportunity to say f**k Ben Kensell for voting for VAR to brought in, the man possibly may be worst thing that’s happened to Hibernian FC in the modern era.

Yep, I thought Rod got a very tough press. I had some dealings with him personally and he was very professional and a lot funnier that his public profile suggested. But as you say, protests outside the west haven't happened to Kensall.

McPake was the captain of a team that didn't care. Even if he himself did, we was too inept to do anything about it. I remember us all applauding him at Hampden against Aberdeen when he aggressively won a header. We applauded because we weren't used to that team doing the basics at all.

And on your final point...which is kinda my point, when we had lovely Leann's little 'community club' vibe going on, folk still weren't happy because it lacked ambition. We're were'nt happy with a third place Euro qualifying Jack Ross, especially the players. No-one hates Hibs more than Hibs fans and players.

The team McPake was in had players like O’Connor, Sproule, Stevenson, Griffiths, Stack, Hanlon & Murray in it (I know Hanlon and Stevenson are here currently but are hardly in the team), out of the current team other than the two that are still there only Martin Boyle is a player that has any real connection with the support which is my point, we’re not much worse in a football sense but there’s a shift in dynamic between player and supporter.

And as for Dempster I wasn’t a fan but that was purely around how she treated supporters.

And I’m so fed up of hearing about how we shouldn’t have sacked Jack Ross, it was a long time ago, get over it - some people liked him, some didn’t, the people that did like him want McInnes as our next manager, I’m not one of them, he was chased from Dundee Utd after losing a home match 9 goals to 0.

  12. 9 minutes ago, Tommy Tappin said:

    1. Instead we had a CEO everyone hated for giving out no information and penny pinching on signings.

    2. Yes we did. Remember when McPake had to come out and say we won't be 'steamrollered' again against Hearts. Why? because we were, and against Hamiliton and against Killie and against....

    3. Top tip: Expect us to be shite, demand shiteness from us and then go to the bookies and bet against us. You get your expectations met and you make money. Thank me later.

    4. Agree Johnson was better than Monty and Maloney but the players chuck it for every manager. That's how they keep their jobs and the managers lose theirs.

    5. Failure ever since the change in ownership? Is that because of the massive trophy haul, euro qualifications and lack of derby embarrassments under Farmer?

I was never a hater of Petrie, even at the time of the protests outside the west I was fully of the belief that he wasn’t the issue at Hibs, he wasn’t hated by myself and presumably yourself given your profile picture?

Players may have been shite but to suggest the likes of McPake etc didn’t care is well wide of the mark.

Have done that many a time over the years, usually lump before big games.

At least under Farmer we were able to have periods where a manager did well enough to keep their job for >12 months at times.

It all comes down to the fact now, more than ever before there are very few people or players that I actually like employed by the club, a club ran by arseholes, and a team full of arseholes.

Seemed to be the only ones trying today, thrown under the bus by the likes of Youan, Newell, Jair and Levitt. If it wasn't wayward passes it was hiding behind St Mirren players and offering no options

To be fair Triantis gave away a penalty and was at fault for a goal, Maolida managed to tackle himself and then fall over and Marcondes hardly moved from the centre circle.

Almost like bringing in lots of loan players at once that have 0 connection to the club doesn’t work.

I wasn't doing a superior supporter bit. I was asking why the disconnect. You've said why and now I'm asking, how is it any different/worse than previously when in many respects we're better off than we used to be in the Petrie/Farmer age?

In the Petrie/Farmer age we didn’t have a CEO that tan behaves like a snake oil salesman and swans around the Albion Bar telling fans information that he shouldn’t be every home game.

We may have been utterly shite at points but we never had a team that all 11 players on the pitch didn’t give a single f**k, the only 2 that do are well into their 30’s and no longer good enough (and rarely play).

Even in the days of Fenlon/Calderwood you had your McPakes, O’Connor’s, Sproule’s & Griffiths’ that you could relate to and you could tell cared, at full time not one single player showed a single sign of being bothered.

My reaction to the result today wasn’t one of anger or frustration, it was simply one of almost amusement because it’s that bad and toxic right now that I feel if you don’t laugh then I’d simply just not go.

We churn out manager after manager, each one worse than the last, there was a wee spell under Johnson that reignited my excitement, a man that was a complete fud however a far better manager than his successor and predecessors.

The people in charge now just make mistake after mistake, we’ve been a failure ever since the change in ownership yet for some reason people don’t seem to think the issue lies with our strategy, it’s simply not working.

  15. 3 hours ago, Tommy Tappin said:

Les, us Hibbies seem to spend most of our lives totally and utterly fed up with the club. No matter who we sign, who the manager/owner is, whatever community engagement projects we're engaged in etc

If we can ever bring ourselves to say 'well done Hibs' for something, the goodwill lasts all of 5 minutes before we hate them for doing/not doing something else.

In January, we signed seven players, a minimum of two of which are waaaay above our pay grade and we got a billionaire to invest in us. Collective Hibby response: 'nae guid enough, why did we no sign 32 year old Van Veen and Jason no knees Kerr?'

As a club, we're miles ahead of the days of Rod 'spend a pound less than we earn' Petrie (and as my avatar shows, I loved Iron Rod), so why so much malcontent? Is it simply coz we don't win many games? Because breaking news just in: we've never won all that many games.

The 5th biggest club in the league is 6th in the league table. It's not like we're miles off it.

Under Petrie I never felt like this in honesty albeit I was a lot younger, I didn’t want us to sign Van Veen either.

The discontent is due to the failure to win any games that matter, the tedious style of football, we’ve signed 7 players, yes but 5 are on loan, 3 of which are under the age of 21 and other than Marcondes I fail to be really excited about any of them.

Surely rather than giving off the superiority complex that “I am a better supporter than you as I am happy” you’d be better to engage people rather than further alienate them if you want fellow supporters to get onside.

Oh and we’re 7th in the league btw, 8th if Aberdeen win their game in hand, if you’re happy with that then fair play.

  16. Trying to keep an open mind but to replace Doidge, a striker who was by no means perfect, but a threat and a handful with a literal child is absolutely wild.

Totally and utterly fed up with the club, hope I’m wrong but signing 2 20 year old centre halves isn’t the solution to our problems either.

When was the last loan player we signed from England with no connection to the club that went on to be a good player for us with the exception of CJ Egan Reilly? (Don’t say Will Fish, he costs us a goal every week).

6 wins in 19 matches for Magic Monty, tying now with Maloney's record.

    What an improvement he's made.

    Can’t help but agree.

Obviously we won’t sack him after 19 games (albeit Maloney was sacked for the same record) but he’s looking like yet another diddy.

I wanted Johnson gone by the end but not a single person can argue that his style of football wasn’t miles superior to this.

Yet another failed appointment by Kensell it would appear, never mind lads we will finish 8th but he’ll go for a beer with a few supporters (paid for by his £325k per annum salary) and folk will tweet #BenKensellHibsSupportersClub again soon.

  18. Not for one second suggesting “Monty out” or any of that but I’ve serious concerns of this style of play.

Our window in the summer was truly appalling.

Jordan Obita, Will Fish and Dylan Levitt truly are three utterly brutal footballers and I cannot believe there are supporters that think they are competent.

We have Boyle, Youan and Vente, three players probably worth over £1m and we have created next to no chances away to Livingston and St Johnstone, that’s on the gaffer.

I’m not for one second suggesting we should have kept Lee Johnson however his teams always created chances (albeit we conceded hundreds) under Montgomery we look utterly devoid of ideas and creativity.

A few wins, yep but we’ve had more than the rub of the green in all of them.

I was not able to see if Sangare was offside but if he was then OK but both ref and the main stand assistant missed it. Up for debate if that is an " obvious error". The call was for handball and then root cause for VAR intervention was changed. Its killing the game and I would like to see it punted. Let the refs do their job and if mistakes happen then we can all greet and moan over our beer in the pub. Way things are going we won't need to moan much longer as its not in the Championship.

    No you’re absolutely right.

Sangare was slightly off, by a whisker, we got burned with it with Boyle’s one in the semi final.

Even the handball itself was a nonsense, the ball hit his hand, yes but issues like that where he can’t really do anything to stop the ball hitting his hand arent what the handball rule was created for, but that’s what we’re dealing with it now.

Don’t care that we got a couple of VAR calls our way today, (and once against tbf) f**k VAR.
