  1. Went along with the majority decision with my mates to not go to Switzerland and boy do I have FOMO now.

What a performance in the second half, that was one to remember.

I wrote off Le Fondre early doors, I was wrong.

Lewis Miller sometimes looks good, as much as sometimes he looks like he’s playing the wrong sport, if he plays like the second half more we could get a tune out of him.

I’ve hated Joe Newell for most of his career at Hibs due to his love of the Tory’s and him drink driving when the whole Hibs team was “isolating” due to covid after I’d made the trip all the way up to Dingwall for the game to be cancelled but jeezo, he’s making it very hard for me to keep up my dislike for him, been smashing the past few months and that performance tops the lot.

Vente could be a great investment too.

These nights are what it’s all about and why we all do it.

  2. He’s actually correct in what he says, Fish was to blame for 2 of the goals on Sunday but he doesn’t need to come out with that in the press.

The sad thing is because of his best mate Ben, we won’t be shot of him anytime soon.

Kensell has got to be one of the worst appointments the club has made in a long time, utter charlatan.

Think Claros is the only one I didn't end up hating... actually take that back, Towell wasn't too bad either

Claros was one I always felt was underrated, if he hadn’t been surrounded by utter guff he’d have had a smashing career with us, used to love watching him play.

I do recall a scout that got sacked when Butcher came in tweeting that Butcher had ripped up a pre-contract that we’d agreed with him and if true, one of the worst decisions the club made in that era and that is bloody well saying something 😂.

  4. Hibs have registered Johnson in the squad for our European game so I suspect he’ll be staying until the end of the month.

Hopefully after that he’s able to go back to you and get game time, very high hopes for him and I’ve been very impressed when I’ve seen him.

Is he likely to get a run of games or does Botteril seem to have the gloves?

No they never they had players that had contracts and the majority of players they brought in were loans like Doidge.  The brought in two players one released from Motherwell and one released from St Mirren.  At least do some research before accusing me of chatting shite.

McInnes is a much better option than Johnson based on what he has done at St Johnstone Aberdeen and now Killie.

Aberdeen had winning football that split the old firm twice.  Remember the Lennon plane celebration at the 5-5 game?  Remind me who finished second that season?  Aberdeen got tired of him by the end when they went into the bottom 6 for the first time in years.   If he set us up hard to beat and we pumped the jambos all the time would you actually care if we had winning football?  We are a complete shambles at the moment and have been since Ross got emptied.

I'm not talking shite, that's your opinion.  I'm more courteous than to accuse you of doing so, perhaps that says more about you than me.

I hate to break it to you, but if you drop below Hibs/Hearts/Aberdeen, every teams signings are made up of loans and free’s buy and large, the odd £100k handed over here and there but otherwise it’s basement bucket, the teams I’ve compared Kilmarnock to are shopping in the same shops.

If you want to put it that way and compare it to previous clubs, Johnson has a decent record at clubs he’s managed at before, that doesn’t make him the right man for the job just like McInnes isn’t, like I say, ask any Aberdeen fan what they thought of McInnes’ era, he was sacked after a run of around 10 games without a goal, and that’s suddenly the silver bullet all because of a 1-0 win against Rangers.

On that next point about beating Hearts, once again, McInnes was a manager renound at Aberdeen for losing in big matches, St Johnstone,  Dundee Utd, Motherwell & Hearts all beating them comfortably in quarter/semi finals in his spell and you’re going to expect this guy to not bottle derbys, his record against the old firm was actually worse than Lee Johnson’s, the majority of his 2nd & 3rd place finishes were without Rangers, Hibs & Hearts in the league.

Now, this conversation is finished and the overdue use of the ignore feature will be selected, please do not interact with me again.

No they never.  They had one of the lowest, Championship players on 2 year deals (that he never gave, he came in half way through the season then went on a run to guide them to the league).   You do realise he only went into Killie in the January yeah?

4 goals to Celtic in 20 mins, have you forgotted 6-1 already?

Johnsons a bore who cant even set up a team and has no plan.  McInnes got Aberdeen second 4 times cup finals etc, Johnsons football is fucking crap hit and hope pish and hope someone has a bit of magic.

No, I know it was it was a manner of chat and not literally.. I had a season ticket for 20 years plus from 1998 until 2020.  That good enough for you?

I'm not here for you to like me but try keep the personal insults down eh.    You have just made up a load of shite then say I don't know what I'm talking about and post nonsense then come out with all of the above?  Jeezo.

Kilmarnock have a bigger budget than Livingston, Ross County, St Johnstone, probably St Mirren and Motherwell yet finished 10th, he wasn’t exactly flavour of the month at Kilmarnock last season and they looked a shoe in to go down until towards the end, yet one result against Rangers and he’s Jurgen Klopp, short termism at its finest.

No one’s claiming Johnson is the answer, but McInnes isn’t either so no idea what your point is.

If you think Johnson’s football is hit and hope Jesus Christ, speak to any Aberdeen fan that suffered the McInnes era.

If you don’t want to be called out for chatting shite, simply stop chatting shite.

They just come up from the Championship.

Did you watch them on Saturday and us on Sunday?

    2 hours ago, GreenGray said:

Killie had a championship squad last season with the sole objective of staying up. He done that and got to Hampden also.

I just want to win games now to be honest with you.

And still had a budget greater than most of the league, if a Hibs team amassed 5 points away from home all season you’d be delighted?

I did watch that game, I also watched them limp to the championship title being pushed until the last day of the season by a part time team and watched them lose 4 goals to Celtic in 20 minutes, what is it with supporters and recency bias, I would genuinely rather keep Johnson than being in that utter bore, we’d be no better off

2 hours ago, Hoose Rice said:

Yet you keep the season ticket to watch utter pish like yesterday?  That wasn't a first either, plenty examples last season too.  Hoofball central all the time, except its usually diagonals down the lines to Youan/Boyle and hope for the best.

Ah yes, it’s possible right enough just to cancel a season ticket because that’s how things work.

Clearly an individual that’s never had a season ticket and doesn’t know how these things work.

You make it so incredibly difficult to like you with the utter nonsense you post on here, almost make Lee Johnson and Ben Kensell sound like they know what they’re talking about.

  8. Quick look at Hibs.net is absolutely jarring reading.

Folk clamouring for Lennon and McInnes, jeezo.

Neil Lennon had an exceptional 6-8 month period from January 2018-August 2018.

Is everyone forgetting us limping to the championship title despite no competition with what felt like us drawing every week, an average at best start to the following season, improvement after January recruits (Allan, MacLaren, Kamberi etc) then an utterly dismal campaign where we were sitting 8th when he was punted.

And as for McInnes, if you thought Jack Ross’ football was boring and 2/3 of his seasons being absolute failure then I hope you enjoyed that because McInnes would be the same. I have mates that support Aberdeen that completely stopped going due to being bored to tears under him.

Hearts & Aberdeens job vacancies came up and they were linked with exciting names like Chris Wilder, Marti Cifuentes & others who don’t have the history of failure in this country and our fans want those two clowns in, we truly get what we deserve.

If Doyle-Hayes is going ill take first dibs for us, pls.

I’ll carry him up to Perth on my back if you want.

Why we persist with him is absolutely beyond me, can’t pass, can’t tackle, no goal threat, just an utterly pointless footballer.

File under Melker Hallberg, Vykintas Slivka, Emerson Hyndman, Tom Taiwo (although he did learn to tackle after leaving us), Matt Thornhill & Joe Keenan.

Truly fed up of this Hibs team, all my patience for the players and manager has gone.

Andorra away was the straw that broke the camels back, yesterday the camel lost a leg aswell.

Got my season ticket renewed and the Luzern ticket bought but after they put us out Hibs won’t be getting a single penny from me until Johnson is away, totally and utterly fed up of it.

I haven’t watched a huge amount of top league football here in the last few seasons(On account of Aarau being shite and bottling promotion most years) but from what I have seen I’d say you are spot on.

Jashari and Meyer in the middle are a very good pairing and will probably control that area, but the rest of the Luzern team are a mixed bag. They have half a dozen regulars who played in the second league and done well there, whether or not they can step up remains to be seen. Okou, Ademi and Sapadanuda are all potential match winners for them, but none of the 3 have proven themselves at any decent level.

Spadanuda was a cracking player for Aarau a couple of seasons ago, moved to the top league in France but couldn’t manage the step up. Not sure if Luzern will use him on the left or right but he is rapid, has a decent touch and can fair hit the ball when given time. Him and Ademi especially could cause Hibs problems.

Defensively the boy Frydek is a reasonable left back. The rest of their defence I seem to recall was very inexperienced last season. The keeper and I am sure both centre halves came through their youth set up. All highly rated but all inexperienced.

I’d have Luzern as slight favourites, mostly because Jashari and Meyer will be the best players on the park, but if Boyle stays fit and you can get the ball into Doidge from either side, you should be able to cause them problems.

I did recognise Meyer’s name when I was on their Wikipedia.

Like you say with Boyle, I think we’re all hopeful we’ll have our new striker we’ve just bought for £700k in between him and Youan and that should cause problems.

If we can go over there with a lead we have a decent chance I think, nothing to fear anyway.

  11. Think we’re giving Luzern a miss which is a shame, gambled on a £33 flight to Sweden early on unfortunately didn’t pay off.

£250 odd as an absolute minimum to get to Switzerland plus £8 pints and a likely £200 for a hotel, unfortunately not viable given I’m doing Cyprus & Georgia away with Scotland plus two short breaks with the mrs.

Praying we get through another round and I can squeeze a cheaper trip in before Cyprus.

No idea if anyone knows any better but I think we probably have a 50/50 or maybe slightly lower chance of progressing.

Caught the last 25 mins of Luzern Djurgardens after the game, Djurgardens were obviously dominating but Luzern looked good on the break however utterly terrified of crossed balls into the box.

    In terms of our game;

Boruc did well, a lot better than he did for the U20s in the challenge cup the night before where he looked very suspect.

Defence was probably the weakest part of the team, Fish looked a bit shaky but he’ll be fine.

Newell is really making it hard for me to complain about him, he’s an absolute arsehole but a smashing footballer and he was superb, right idea to sub him to keep him fresh for Sunday given his injury.

Boyle and Youan are going to be an absolute nightmare to play against this season if they can both stay fit, could see us scoring a lot of goals but also probably conceding a lot too.

Delighted for Doidge, a thoroughly good egg, would much rather have him than Le Fondre, Melkersen or McKirdy when he returns.

I think they'll be fine. Hopefully anyway.

I think we'll sell out but it';ll go down the levels a few more i think.

If we take guts of 4,000 to Cyprus it's an incredible support given we'll likely have 10,000+ in Spain 4 weeks later.

Coming up as sold out although if you keep refreshing the odd one pops up, very very slim chance of anyone on 8 getting a ticket.

3rd away game for me but the first ever time with a ticket in the away end, great to be finally getting the points.

  13. I would start Doidge over Le Fondre every day of the week.

Had a dream last night we were 1-0 down with 20 mins to go and the stadium was chanting “Johnson GTF” before Elie Youan, Martin Boyle and Paul Hanlon (I think although can’t fully recall) put us 3-1 up.

We then conceded from a free header from a last minute corner down at the south stand.

I was then woken by a blocked nose so I’ve no idea if we made it through extra time.

Seems a pretty realistic Hibs thing to happen tbqh.

Aye, won our league last year and I won all my singles games. Gone up a league and I've played one, lost one 🙈. Standard is noticeably higher so I need to get back practicing. It's weird as though it's only pub darts I still get nerves during my games which affects my throw.

Yeah the nerves proper hit me the first few games I’ve played in, especially in some of the games when the other teams can be quite loud, trying to spend more time laughing after poor scores instead of beating myself up and that seems to have helped me be more comfortable.

As two players that play competitively, what are your rough averages? It’s not something I’m keen to get into; rather just always been curious of the standard at pub level.

My overall average is probably between 40 & 50 albeit in the second division in Edinburgh West, that’s due to my piss poor doubles, probably get about 10% doubles accuracy overall, first 9/12 average is probably 50-60.

No idea about the 1st Division standard but I do know Willie Borland is playing for the team that are top of the league in that division this season so I would suspect the upper echelons of the first division is alot better in terms of standard.

My best ever is a 19 darter and best ever checkout is 130, so on a good day I’m a lot better than that but I’ve also had a couple of stinkers playing for the pub too.

  15. Started playing for a pub team a few months ago and I’ve noticed my scoring improve hugely.

So far played 4 singles games and won 3 and the loss was in a singles tournament that I didn’t arrive in. 4 wins out of 8 games of pairs too, pretty happy with how I’m progressing.

Does anyone on here play competitively?

Do new signings not have to be registered before the first leg in order to be eligible for the second?

Fish was registered beforehand but he played for Man Utd on Tuesday and wouldn’t have been able to fly out with the team due to still being in America but will play on Thursday I suspect.

Don’t think Vente will be available if he’s signed by then.

Clearly a bad result but, and not trying to wind you up here, surely losing 7 at home to Malmo was worse than that?

A worse scoreline, yeah but as a result, no chance, Malmo had something about them, not convinced this Andorran mob would beat Civil Service Strollers.

Without doubt the worst team that have ever beaten us.

  18. I’ve been one of Lee Johnson’s vocal defenders however that’s indefensible, he has to go, even if we turn it around that’s the worst result in our history by a longshot.

He simply can’t be allowed to continue as manager, an absolute embarrassment.

One of the commentators said that Lewis Miller had played okay, which I think is even more bewildering than the result, awful footballer.

It was clear from last season that Marshall needs to be euthanised, why he started is beyond me.

Lewis Stevenson, jeezo, an all timer in his bad performances.

Dylan Levitt could be one of the most expensive mistakes in recent years based on that.

    Adam Le Fondre, fucking murder.

Jake Doyle-Hayes, made a mug of by a school janitor.

Elias Melkersen, played like he’d won a school competition.

Joe Newell, despite his goal, I think he was obviously getting mixed up with his love of golf, regularly pitching the ball into the hills.

Rocky Bushiri, Josh Campbell and Elie Youan jumped in a delorean back to their first 6 months at Hibs where they were absolutely crap.

Utterly pathetic all in all, honestly didn’t think for a second we wouldn’t beat them, nothing short of embarrassing.
