  1. This has a draw written allover it, Joel Sked giving us the kiss of death on AVFTT last night aswell.
  2. I worded that wrongly “relegated under him or just after he left” - apologies.
  3. 1. Gerrard - The way he’s (unfortunately) turned Rangers around is to be admired, they play good football and look class in Europe, will go on to manage a big club one day. 2. McInnes - prolonged and sustained success at Aberdeen, the football is shite but he’s taken them from being effectively what Hibs, Hearts and Dundee Utd are to a team that qualify for Europe every season, he has however stayed too long and needs a move though. 3. Lennon - bear with me on this one, aye he’s had a miserable season at Celtic but he’s won a few titles and achieved some incredible results in Europe. Although I did want him gone by the time he left Hibs, the spell we had from early 2017-summer 2018 was the most exciting football and best time I’ve ever had supporting Hibs, for that alone he goes above everyone else. 4 - Martindale - Jury is out but what a start, probably the smallest club in the league with the exception of Hamilton he’s got to a cup final and, if you believe he was the manager beforehand, turned them into a perennial top 6 club. 5 - Ross - Put him above Goodwin on the basis that he’s probably achieved more, has turned us into a team very good at beating the dross in the league, jury is still out for me, 2 semi final defeats will take a long time to be forgiven and I have wanted him out a few times this season, football thus far has been dull but getting Hibs to potentially 3rd for the first time since 2005 isn’t to be sniffed at aswell as the way he turned St Mirren round. 6 - Goodwin - I can’t believe a manager has made St Mirren a decent team to watch and one I expect to finish in the top 6, fair play, did pretty well with Alloa and has St Mirren higher in the table than I can ever remember them being at this stage of the season. 7 - Wright - Did well at St Johnstone obviously but I really can’t take to the guy at all, from some of the stories you hear to the style of play at St Johnstone under his stewardship, not for me. Fair play to him for winning the cup and getting a few European finishes though, clearly did really well for them and is rightly, well loved by the supporters, interested to see what happens with Killie. 8 - Davidson - Small sample size but seems to be doing okay with St Johnstone, the xG boys will tell you they’re hugely underperforming in the league, probably due to him not signing a decent enough striker though, well deserved papping of us in the semi final and I think they’ll probably win the cup. 9 - Alexander - I’ve honestly no idea about this guy tbh 10 - Rice - Could be argued for a higher spot for his ability to keep Hamilton up what feels like perennially but I think he’d crash and burn at any other club, Hamilton could be managed by my granny and still stay up somehow. 11 - Mellon - Some effort turning a team with lots of creative attacking exciting players into the worst to watch in the league, style of play is awful, I tipped Utd to finish 5th this season and Mellon has been the reason that won’t happen imo. 12 - Hughes - If Yogi told me that the sky was blue, I’d open my window to check, every team he manages seems to either get relegated under his reign or not long after, he seems to join a club, do okay at first before jumping ship and leaving them in an absolute mess, Falkirk, Inverness and Raith were all relegated either under him or just after he jumped ship, the state he left Hibs in took years to recover, after he left we didn’t finish in the top 6 for 7 years. He may prove me wrong but I’d be surprised if the same doesn’t happen to County, yet the Si Ferry’s and Chick Young’s of this world think it’s mental it took him so long to get another job.
  4. For anyone that uses Instagram, I’ve set up an account where I’ll post a Hibs game from the past (I’ll be starting in the 2000s) every day with a wee summary and a few anecdotes about the game like the huge geek that I am. If that’s up your street feel free to give it a follow: https://www.instagram.com/hibsgameeveryday/
  5. You’re totally missing the point. Nicola Sturgeon said we are taking a more cautious approach to lockdown than last year, last year we came out when we were getting less than 10 cases a day IIRC, we are currently at around 800 or so. In autumn we were allowed to do loads of things if our case numbers were under 150 per 100,000 within your region. Nicola Sturgeon also said we may go back into lockdown again later next year, so that’s us being told that even though we are vaccinating the population and getting better at treating the virus, we are in the same place as a year ago and in all likelihood this winter will be as bleak as the last. I apologise if it’s wrong of me for that to really get me down, there’s no light at the end of the tunnel here, no suggestion we’ll get back to the football anytime in the next year, no suggestion of any live music, no suggestion of being able to go to the pub and interact with anyone outwith your table, based on what she said today we’ll probably get a 3 month window over summer where we can have others round to your house and then we’ll go back to living in our bubbles again, for myself, that’s rubbish for not seeing friends but I also have an elderly grandparent that is terminally ill and in all likelihood from today’s announcement I am coming to terms with the fact I’ll not really be able to spend any time with him before he passes away. Apologies if that makes me a zoomer, pal.
  6. I really wasn’t expecting much from today’s announcement but even still, it’s managed to knock a lot of stuffing out of me. Waking up every day to work from home seems more and more pointless by the day, absolutely nothing to get me through the week and spending my life going from work to Netflix/Football Manager is absolutely no way to live. One year on and we’re absolutely no further forward, what actually is the point?
  7. Last few pages are absolutely grim reading. The prospect of no loud, packed football crowds, no packed music venues, no packed bars with singing, seeing loads of folk youve no seen in ages and getting a blether is just total shite, all that’ll happen is everyone’s social lives will move to house parties whether illegal or not and it’s a grim reality that it would appear that some people advising the government actually want and the government don’t seem to be resisting. It would nice just to hear from the government that the end goal would be to have your Hamdens’, your Barrowlands’ etc rocking and bouncing by the end of this, some people are clearly happy morphing into their sofas watching strictly come dancing and going to Peebles for their annual holiday but I certainly am not.
  8. The Greens will be getting my vote on both counts, possibly a waste for the constituency vote but I honestly can’t bring myself to vote for any other party, the SNP have gone down in my estimation hugely over the past year or so. It’ll be interesting to see how common this is, seems to be a few on here who will be lending them a vote and a lot of my friends are of a similar view. The SNP will win by a landslide but they’ll probably gain a lot of their votes from other parties while also losing a lot of their votes to the Greens, I’ve got family who would vote Labour or even *shudder* Lib Dem who will now definitely vote SNP, whereas I’m finding a lot of people I associate myself with have lost confidence in the SNP and will be voting Green.
  9. Postponing the game until after the pandemic so we can get our away day to Dingwall? God bless you Mr Groundsman. See you in 2027 guys!
  10. Could go living in a big ex-wetherspoons gaff.....if I can get toilets moved nearer to anything fucking else
  11. Personally despising working from home, I think it’s more due to personal circumstance than the actual position though, currently living with parents due to it being nyon impossible for a first time buyer that wants to buy a flat in Edinburgh right now, and having to work from my bed due to having no room for a desk and with the house full of 3 others who work from home 5 days a week in different rooms there’s not exactly much wiggle room. The thing that gets me the most is finishing up and then having no choice to spend my evening staring at a screen, whether that be my phone, my laptop or my telly, it’s grim although I appreciate it won’t be like this forever (unless new strains identified by SAGE pop up every week until the end of time). Probably won’t mind it once I get myself a flat and my own space but right now it’s torture and getting into the office like I was able to a couple of days a week back in October/November time would do me the world of good tbh.
  12. What’s the weather been like round Mallard Way - the game likely to be on? Is your groundsman as good as Greenock Morton’s?
  13. The last 2 games that we played against Ross County pre-covid were absolutely fucking freezing so it’s fitting that this one is too (yes I’m fully aware it wasn’t freezing for the 0-0 game earlier this season). I always wanted County to stay up due to the exceptional away day but unlike many of my fellow supporters, I’m not a huge fan of Mr Hughes so I’m edging towards joining the aforementioned relegation express train. This game, Bleugh, my feeling towards Hibs has changed massively in the past 7 days for the better, I also know that that can swing the other way, gonna plump for a fairly non eventful 1-0 away win, Shagger Doidge to get back among the goals.
  14. Would recommend/not recommend Lost Souls Alley, single handedly the scariest experience of my life, but also so well done.
  15. GK - Ofir Marciano (Ashdod) - Also wins our best goalkeeper of my lifetime award, who would remember we had him on loan before we signed him permanently though? No explanation required really, still bossing it. CB - Niklas Gunnarsson (Valerenga) - Struggled for centre halves but Gunnarsson was half decent, scored against Rangers and was always solid enough, looked cool as f**k on the open top bus after we won the cup. CB - James McPake (Coventry) - This is a weird one, when we signed him on loan he looked like a prime Beckenbauer, proper captain, gave everything and looked class, signed him permanently and he fell to bits and even before that happened he was pish. CB - Efe Ambrose (Celtic) - absolute baller, was unreal to sign him permanently RM - Martin Boyle (Dundee) - What a weird loan signing this was, sent Alex Harris on loan to Dundee in return for Martin Boyle, such a weird signing that turned out to be one of the best we’ve made in years, Mr Harris now plying his trade at Edinburgh City CM - Jorge Claros (Montagua) - Opted to put him in over Fyvie, Rocastle and even Scott Allan on the basis that the other 2 CMs are players that went on to have a real connection to the club and Jorge was a bit different. I absolutely loved watching this guy play, be surprised if he ever scored a goal in his puff but he was so composed, he played in a team where only him and Griffiths were any good at football and the pair of them took us to a cup final pretty much single handedly, his touches and passing was just unbelievable, he always got himself in a position where he looked like he had more time on the ball than he did, absolutely loved watching this guy. CM - Dylan McGeouch (Celtic) - More of the cafflick brotherhood loans, similar to Claros with better players around him although a bit more direct, was a good dribbler and went on to be a smashing player for us, another I loved watching. CM - Liam Henderson (Celtic) - I honestly just pray we see this guy either back at Hibs or playing for Scotland or even down south, I might actually watch English football if this ever happens, this guy had it all, the heart, the work ethic, the technical ability, could hit free kicks, corners (hehe), absolute joy to watch and fair play to the guy living it up in Italy and doing well by all accounts. LM - Brandon Barker (Man City) - Seemed the best option for left midfield, looked like a rabbit in a headlights when we first signed him but really came on, was absolutely rapid, final ball was pish when we first got him but it improved, he scored a goal against Killie when we beat them 5-3 that pretty much secured europe and I remember going absolutely tonto in what was a fucking mental match. ST - Leigh Griffiths (Celtic) - Touched on him already, he needs no description, that second season we had him on loan he scored something ridiculous like 30 goals, would love to (and expect to) see him back at Easter road eventually. ST - Anthony Stokes (Celtic) - Not the most successful loan spell but he gets in for THAT performance, rumour has it when Tavernier goes to bed after lifting the title in May he’ll still have nightmares about Mr Stokes from 2016, tore him to pieces and secured the best day in Scottish football history.
  16. Maybe not the exact same amount of money but there’ll still be teams in for them without a doubt. Both also have a better (although perhaps slim) chance of making the Scotland squad for the Euros by playing regularly for Hibs than being in and out the team in the English championship and all it takes is a decent performance off the bench by one of them to increase their value further.
  17. We have won 4/13 games at home this season. We have beaten Aberdeen at home only twice in the league in the past 12 years. Those games were a 2-0 victory under Lennon where Scott Allan ran the show, Kamberi and Boyle scoring and the 3-0 win last season. Our record since a 2-0 win in 2009 with 2 last minute goals from Colin Nish and Liam Miller is W2 D4 L7. It is however worth noting that we’ve papped them out of both cups since then with two pieces of individual brilliance from Dom Malonga and Gary Deegan of all people. Hibernian 0-1 Aberdeen (Kamberi 86)
  18. They obviously took a poor stance on his non essential jaunt to Barbados aswell
  19. Sure sales of these will hit the roof now, get them while you’re quick. https://www.redbubble.com/i/mask/captain-tom-moorse-mask-by-sirius-12456/51906683.9G0D8 https://www.redbubble.com/i/mask/Captain-Tom-Moore-by-AndythephotoDr/47370522.9G0D8
  20. Can we agree to a draw and just not play this one? Will be the first game in the season I won’t watch, totally scunnered with football just now. In normal circumstances if we were pish and boring to watch I’d still go along for the social thing but these days watching it just winds me up, I’ll watch the darts instead, I think.
