  1. That was my take on it, don’t think Tumilty was offered any form of concrete deal at all with us as Mcglynn had supposedly used up all his budget at that point. Extra money was then made an available latterly when the remaining shares were sold allowing us to bring in Bisland and Ross, by that point Tumilty had already been snapped up. Pre season we were obviously still trying to move a player or two out the door to allow more to come in and that never happened for one reason or another. In hindsight I now would not swap Finn Yates for Tumility anyway, I think he’s developing into an excellent right back for us which is probably why Mcglynn was less concerned about prioritising that position than some posters on here were.
  2. Wasn’t aware Tumilty was offered a deal with us.
  3. Haven’t seen a single post metaphorically “getting the bunting out” However it is fair to recognise McGlynn did improve us last season and has improved us further again this season as the win percentages posted earlier show. Fans are perfectly entitled to enjoy it when winning and the football on show is exciting to watch, it’s the reason we all turn up on a Saturday but that does not equate to “getting the bunting out” I’ve seen nobody being presumptuous here, especialy when Hamilton have been keeping pace with us week on week but for goodness sake let fans enjoy the wins and performances in the the moment!
  4. Brad McKay is still available, you would be more than welcome!
  5. Hopefully we keep an eye an his progress and perhaps look to re-sign him if he kicks on.
  6. Despite how I felt sitting at Airdrie that half time it now looks as if sticking by Mcglynn this season has been justified, he’s definitely improved us again this pre season. Recruitment has been excellent despite some of the negativity on here at the time around certain signings and re-signings, trying not to get carried away but we haven’t put in a single bad performance since the season started, long may it continue.
  7. What have Arbroath got to do with our new right back?
  8. I thought this myself, was also a problem for us last season however it did look to have been rectified with the additions of Miller and Aggyman, we’ve definitely mixed it up better getting the ball forward much quicker up until Saturday. Without those two as an outlet we seemed to revert to the constant tippy tappy stuff again and although Nesbit has been decent since he came back in he does tend to drop deeper looking for the ball leaving our striker a bit isolated where as Aggyman in that number 10 position actually plays as a foil for McIver. It’s a shame those two are injured as they’ve both given us that pace and physicality up front we lacked combining well with McIver.
  9. The possession , shots on goal and shots on target stats paint a different picture Marv. Although I would actually say queens did give us our toughest game so far this season, they look decent excluding the time wasting / diving antics and I think they’ll at the very least be in and around the play offs.
  10. Agree on Yates, thought him and Morrison were excellent yesterday. It’s strange that one or two do seem to single him out as I actually think on the whole he’s been very good for us this season.
  11. The club already has his 300k, he can’t get it back!
  12. Phill Rawlins apparently has a net worth of around 60 million, I don’t thinks he needs the money however if he was to be made an offer and did want to sell his shareholding the club would have to approve that sale anyway. It’s not messy or problematic at all, the Rawlins have became pretty insignificant to be honest.
  13. They paid cira 300k for they’re shareholding, do you think they are just going to hand those shares back or over to somebody else for free? It’s not like they are fans or have any other emotional attachment to the club. I’m guessing they’ll just sit on those shares on the off chance someone might see value or a need for them in the future and make them an offer.
  14. He’s already exited the club, quite some time ago actually despite the fact he is stuck with a reasonably significant shareholding nobody wants to buy from him.
  15. Happy with that team either way to be honest, Nesbit has been excellent since he came in. Although I agree for balance getting Alfie back into the number 10 role would probably be better.
  16. 75% going on the threshold needed previously to issue shares that allowed the Rawlins, PG and FSS to invest.
  17. The Rawlins no longer have that option , any new share issue would require a special resolution with a 75% vote needed to pass.
  18. You seem to be going around in circles, the FSS and the club released various statements explaining why now the shares are all sold no more would be issued. A position they all seem to agree upon and a position that has been the case from the outset which has ultimately benefited the club (the reason I presume we all pay in our £10 a month in the first place) No idea why you continue to get your nickers in a twist over this when it appears the vast majority seem quite content with the final outcome, are happy we now have a balanced fan owned structure and a mechanism to crowd fund with a democratic path to elect the people we want running the club. The boxes have now been ticked in that regard and IMO it’s now time to start enjoying what’s been built, the beginnings of a new academy with young players already showing promise and what is starting out to look like an exciting first team on the park. Most in the broader fan base do seem to appreciate that despite a minority on this particular forum continually trying to dissect everything.
  19. But the club can’t just issue new shares without the the FSS voting for it so it’s therefore a moot point. The Rawlins only have around 15% of the club, how on earth are they going to be able to persuade another 60% of the shareholders given the make up we now have to vote with them unless it’s absolutely in the best interests of the club. The scenario just won’t happen.
  20. Not true. Either the FSS, small individual shareholders, patrons, other large shareholders or a combination of some / all of them could easily veto that. To issue new shares requires a special resolution needing a 75% vote. Given the size of the Rawlings shareholding it wouldn’t even take 25% to block such a resolution being passed. The scenario you’re trying to paint would just never unfold.
  21. Just listened to the podcast and it’s the first time I’ve heard from the two committee members who were on, both spoke very well and it was reassuring to hear there are ideas being floated to continue driving up the membership numbers. On the subject of the monthly subs I’d always presumed when the required shareholding was reached my money would become more of a donation to the club than anything else and I continue to be perfectly happy with that in the knowledge it’s helping the club, it does seem to be the case that’s how most other successfully fan owned clubs operate. Also liked the idea being floated that perhaps the FSS money could eventually be ring fenced to fund the academy, it’s quite an emotive thing most fans could easily get behind and potentially become more involved in helping raise additional revenue through events and such like over and above just the monthly subs, it would also help take the financial burden of funding and growing the academy away from the club hopefully allowing us to be more competitive with our spending at first team level. Getting out of this league sounds like it’s been prioritised for the right now but longer term the new academy is still a bit of a blank canvas and could eventually become an entity the FSS members could help shape, view as they’re own and take pride in.
