  1. A business is liable for its debts, its shareholders are not.
  2. An impossible stat to quantify probably but there is no doubting the influence Ross has on our general play, his goals and assists are a fantastic contribution but over and above that he is literally the lynchpin to the full way we attack and break on teams with his touch, ability in the air and hold up play. He creates the space for the 3 guys in behind him and it’s nice most people can now recognise everything he has brought to the team over this last season and a bit. Delighted we have him tied up long term now.
  3. Not saying you are wrong here as my memory isn’t the best but I was pretty certain the SFA grant was for the pitch, there was also an interest free loan for the upgraded floodlights but that was from the council.
  4. Fantastic piece of business getting that done and dusted early doors!
  5. There was also a grant that came via the SFA over and above that FSS loan.
  6. We may also be liable to repay part of that grant if the pitch is scrapped adding a further cost burden.
  7. Did we not win away to Montrose when M&M were managers?
  8. Fantastic news, would be crazy to presume other clubs aren’t already looking at him. Good to see the club being proactive.
  9. Forgive me if I fast forward any sections where Euan Cameron is making noise.
  10. It’s definitely bitter but also hilarious in equal measures. Let’s hope it continues and we “aren’t good” throughout the season if it means we keep putting these inferiors to the sword. Playoffs for me has to be the target, if everyone stays fit we are easily good enough.
  11. Yes! The council do indeed maintain the parts of the main stand they own and have done so since ownership of the stadium company was divided up between the club and the council some time ago!
  12. It won’t purely be down to they’re owners pumping money in (although they certainly appear to be doing that in the short term) but added to that Ayr and a number of other clubs we are up against in this division have started the season with between 200 and 350k more than us prize money wise having been in the championship last season, Ayr I’m sure also had a draw against one of the arse cheeks in the cup last season (another 200k or more) and they had the 500k Covid gift along with the rest of the championship teams that we missed out on in 2021/20222 season. Being in league one for the last 5 years has really milked Falkirk and it’ll probably take us a couple of top half or better finishes in the championship to get comfortable again financially I’d guess. Although happily this season it does appear we have managed a break even budget we are still very much hand to mouth, a finish below mid table or some other unforeseen financial issue could easily change that, we are are on the right track with both the club as a business and playing squad growing organically but we need to keep pushing it as a club and continue doing what we are doing at the moment to drive growth and get back to where we want to be.
  13. Pretty sure if you were to put the stats from the Ayr game up it would show us being particularly unlucky that night , not that it matters now having won the group anyway but on the balance of play had we won or drawn that game nobody at Ayr United could really have argued much with the result.
  14. If we had won 8-0 nobody could have complained! He’s at it!
  15. Why on earth would the council pay for maintenance on a stand owned by Sandy Alexander? Or upgrades on a stand fully owned by the club? The council maintain the parts of the main stand they own and the club do likewise with they’re sections of the stand or stands which are owned by the club, not sure how on earth else it’s supposed to work to be honest.

  17. By Michael Stewart! Enough said I think! 3 or 4 others were clearly more deserving of MOTM ahead of Morrison last Friday night.
  18. Who said that was even a thing? That’s hilarious man!
  19. “he looks fine against league one opposition” Has he ever played in league one? To my knowledge he’s only ever played for premiership or championship sides?
  20. Really does set you up for the weekend that! We were the better side, played some decent one touch stuff and got the win but the big thing for me was you could see we still had an extra gear there and when Nesbit, Lang, McCann ect are all back to full fitness it’s just going to improve us again further. Need to mention Ross McIver who was a stand out again, can’t underestimate how important he is to us and the system we play. Also thought McKenna looked good when he came on and helped swing the momentum back in our favour when the game was starting to drift a bit, a happy bairn here!
  21. Agreed, if Nisbet is still injured next week I wouldn’t mind seeing McKenna start rather than Oliver.
  22. That actually sounds like an excellent deal! Falkirk currently pay 70k PA just to rent the south stand from Sandy Alexander.
  23. Is there space for more terrace or a stand? Seems strange the club have chosen to build a newly developed stadium so small when there is demand for extra capacity that could generate money? I don’t understand the thinking behind the development as it stands at the moment, is the long term plan just to continue renting Hampden or is there to be more construction work still carried out at lesser?
  24. Few fans take any pleasure in shit like this, especially having been there ourselves. Genuinely do hope it is a genuine banking issue.
  25. If your new owner wasn’t prepared to play sugar daddy and fund loses the club should never have been spending in the manner it has been, in the end it’s the fans that suffer when football clubs over spend and are mis managed. When are the clubs last set of accounts released to shareholders? It did seem odd seeing the signings and size of squad Hamilton were able to operate with last season on crowds of barely 1000. We’ve been told Falkirks most recent set of accounts from the year just ended will show a loss of around 340k which was covered via a cash surplus from the previous years Scottish cup run, I’d expect Hamiltons operating loss to be considerably bigger than that but presumed these new owners were prepared to bankroll the thing. The guy obviously has other ideas or can’t afford to, this kind of thing does not just spring up from nowhere and the club really should not have continued spending or bringing players in knowing there was a financial shortfall, there’s been a complete lack of transparency with the fans here regarding the clubs situation unless of course there has genuinely been a simple online banking issue.
