  1. Was driving down to Jedburgh with a workmate to pick up her (wid) driving licence and passport that her mum had accidentally taken with her the day before and dropped it into Jedburgh Police Station for her to collect it. I remember she got a call from her pal to tell her about planes hitting two towers in New York so we stuck the radio on and drove in silence most of the way back. I didn't know much about the WTC but remember being glued to the TV all night when I got back.
  2. I was stood at the front of the away end at that game and have a vague memory of being squashed during the celebrations I remember Lindsay Hamilton getting into a car that was parked among the supporters buses and getting ripped by Falkirk supporters singing lets all do the Lindsay while flapping their arms around
  3. SFA statement makes reference to joining the nation in a period of mourning. Likely means all football cancelled this weekend and next dependent on funeral
  4. My missus' sisters partner phoned her not long after the news broke. I could hear he was in floods of tears and genuinely upset. My main thought was you're 53 FFS, get a grip.
  5. I don't live in Australia but mine's the same. I can't be arsed looking but I'm sure I've posted previously that her answer to being cold is to stick the heating on. The fact she's walking about with no jumper or socks on has nothing to do with her being cold though
  6. That's the thing, it's not blatantly obvious that it's the wrong decision. There are posters on here who were at the game who thought it was a penalty, there are others not at the game like you and I who also thought it was a penalty. If it's a penalty its a red card. It's one of those we'd be claiming down the other end. There's also very little protest other than Morrison
  7. It's hard to tell where the ball strikes him, gut reaction was its a penalty and red card but watching it a few times the ball seems to hit his upper arm which is tucked into the side of his body. Wouldn't waste money appealing it either as there's no guarantee we'd win. The suspension is effective in next seasons League Cup by which time he might not be our player anyway
  8. Don't use the dishwasher and go back to the old basin with hot water and washing up liquid. Obviously switch it off at the wall. Agree with the washing machine situation by only washing full loads at a time. I'm sure there's some guidance about avoiding use of washing machines etc at certain times of the day. I've been round the house tonight turning all radiators down to the second setting. We've also started switching off everything at the wall when we're not using them, exception to that being the fridge/freezer. I also only charge my mobile using the USB port in my work laptop rather than through the mains. No idea how cost effective this will be but need to do something
  9. See also, people who stop suddenly on a path to talk or whatever, and are apparently totally unaware that they are now an obstacle. Yes, I always want to ask if they'd do the same thing on the road if they were driving. But I'm a sh*tebag and keep my mouth shut. I'm also scared they might say that yes they would
  10. I've only seen the highlights on Sportscene so I'll stick to that. I can see why Rangers' penalty was given in real speed though after replays it has to be said that Bushiri was stupid to give Collum that decision to make but Colak has "made the most of any contact" (I hate that phrase). Couldn't see Collum's view of it, gut reaction is he's guessed at the decision. Hibs should have had a penalty for Tavernier's shirt pulling on Bushiri. Lundstram's tackle was a yellow all day. The fact Johnson came out and said the same says it all. Morelos' is an idiot who let his team down. No argument over the red card. Like every other non OF fan, its hilarious to see Rangers fans going crazy when they're on the wrong end of decisions but yesterday was typical Collum and makes the Scottish game a laughing stock. VAR would have helped with a lot of the decisions yesterday and its laughable we don't have it in our game yet but I don't think that would have overturned the Rangers penalty decision as its not a clear and obvious error
  11. Noticed that as well. He also forgot about Kennedy
  12. My money's on it being McCann after 'that' challenge last week and coming back on has possibly made the situation worse
  13. Thanks mate. Like everybody I've heard and read about the cap rises in the news etc but just seeing that difference in writing scares me
  14. Got notification today that my fixed term tariff with Octopus comes to an end on 1st October and if I fix my tariff I'll be jumping from £119 per month to £409 but if I do nothing I'll go on the variable rate estimated to be £174. How can any firm justify that difference? Surely it should be cheaper to fix than not
  15. Could see her on the Internet on her phone last night and she was looking at the same hotel in Edinburgh my sister got married in. Eventually she asks if I fancy a two night stay at an Edinburgh hotel in December. Three times I ask her just to tell me how much instead of all about the hotel. £362. In December?! When we're trying to pay off our holiday from this year and save to get away next year? Fails to realise that it's not just £362 for the room, there's also train fare for two, two days lunch and dinner and no doubt a day shopping in there.
  16. Having watched the highlights, I forgot the penalty shout on Morrison first half as well. That looked a penalty at the time. I want to retract my defence of the ref at the Alegria penalty claim. A shocking decision that I think he bottled giving as he knew he'd have to send the defender off as well. The McCann decision looks even worse on the highlights
  17. Don't know if I would go as far as worst midfielder we've ever had but he didn't have a good game yesterday. Montrose was the same. Apart from one pass through the channel for Williamson in the first half, I saw a player continually losing the ball and late to his opponent resulting in the opponent skipping away from him or him giving a foul away.
  18. The penalty involving Alegria was a definite but I don't think he could see it for the two defenders blocking his view, could have done with help from the standside assistant. I'm struggling to think of any others You forgot that ridiculous free kick decision against McCann after he'd been hauled to the ground and pulled the defender with him
  19. I'd like to know that as well. I didn't think it was any more than a yellow but I'd have to see it again. Ref was convinced immediately and was obviously closer so I'll go with his decision
  20. In future, don't pack up until she's arrived to pick you up and keep her waiting half an hour.
