Heard from a few that we don’t owe him compensation if we don’t get play offs this year today, presume it’s just about waiting for the season to finish before starting again next year. Also, Ferguson is an absolute waste of a shirt anytime I’ve seen him (quite an achievement to be singled out amongst this gang)

You heard wrong it will cost us over a year's wages to get rid of Bartley no matter what position we finish in the League .

1st half we got a goal looked half decent

2nd half was very poor Montrose deserved the win.

What gets me is teams don't have to do much to beat us .

We have nothing it is  a real worry of the relagation playoffs

Imo the club saw pound signs with the Lyndon Dykes move and decided the best route to take the club forward was by developing young players. The advantage was their wages are peanuts and if they do well you can flog them on and make some money.

Never in a million years was the priority to assemble a squad to push for promotion.

The model of paying peanuts to young full time  players just does not work on the pitch or more important financially .

We need to get back to part time football.

I am sure we could be at  the top end in wages rather than pay poor full time wages .

We have seen that at our level full time really means nothing unless you have a budget like a Hamilton or Falkirk.

^^^ Yeah, I think this too.

Bartley is smooth, confident and can talk a good job so I'm sure he impressed in his interview. Equally, he's not shy so I can imagine him asking for a decent length of contract. So the BOD probably thought he's better than the other options they had and had to meet some of his demands to land him. The BOD also probably thought he'll do well and a bigger club will come in for him before his contract is done, hence we'll get some cash for him when he goes. It's all in the roll of the dice.

Bartley really does talk a good game next week at the shareholders meeting he will answer difficult questions with ease .

He speaks very well but his man management of players is very poor not one would run through a brick wall for him .

Hang on, we have to play Falkirk away first (Tuesday).

Going to be quite challenging for us playing 3 games in 7 days, we'll be knackered after playing on Falkirk's large pitch, also given that we have Dillon (40), Gardyne (37?) and Watson (37?) all been playing regularly as starters.

So should be a good game !

I can't remember the last good game at Palmy if only Queens had the experience you have.

    Tick tock ……. ⏰

Think your clock will be like the one at Palmy it never works .

No chance the board have the balls or even the cash to get rid of Bartley .

I expect him to still be in charge at the shareholders meeting when he will answer difficult questions with ease .

He says “every player needs to arrive on time because it affects the group”. I took as someone late again. Just surmising it’s Efe as benched when fit. My worry is that they don’t seem to be playing for Bartley…

I took it as someone was late as well why else would Efe be on the bench .

A good manager would have drilled it into the players heads that they had to have the right attitude.

Bartley has lost the respect of the players my worry is will we be able to stay out the relagation play offs that sadly is the aim for this season .

Bartley must be away in the summer I for one will not renew my season ticket if he is still manager .

I think that defensively at least, we have enough about us to stay up. Brydon, McLelland, Ambrose and new boy Kilsby (and keeper Stone, once he returns from injury) are all pretty solid for this level. It’s our lack of cutting edge up front and quality in midfield that concerns me. I’m not dismissing the possibility of relegation, but I’d be surprised if we went down, this season at least.

That is the problem we play not to lose rather than win .

We have nothing in midfield and attack and most important we don't score enough goals.

Annan have 6 points in there last 3 games we have 2 relagation form .

Great if offloading 2 would allow us another midfielder on loan to replace the bite we lost with the injury of Mimnaugh and departure of Wilson.

Nobody will come in squad should never have got as big .

On Wilson he is back to his very best if only we had him in our midfield in saying that he would be out injured for us .

Good on you Dan.     Our ground's already got a name.

It's bad enough enough that our stands and terracing bear the burden of daft titles.

Bottom line here we need money if any firm wants to pay to change the name of Palmerston then take it who cares .

We are not in a position to turn down anything .

No local company is going to spend £80,000 ( what the draw usually makes ) a season to sponsor Queens ffs. The shirt draw is a great idea and very successful.

The shirt draw is a great idea but that is the problem very difficult to find a firm or even a individual who has £80,000 to give away.

See when people talk of investment, what do they really mean?

Surely, investment usually involves putting money into something in order to be able to make more money on it later.  I fail to see how that's any sort of viable prospect for anyone with us, or a side of around our size/level.

If we'd just like someone to give us money, then fair enough.  Again though, it doesn't strike me as that likely, because it's hard to make it sound appealing for anyone.

I'd be wary about being too open to any passing chancers.  Did we not have some interest from a consortium down South a few years back, that sounded like a bad idea?

This is why it is  very difficult to get investment.

We can't even get a local firm to sponsor.us hence the shirt draw

What you really need is  someone who has a huge amount of spare  cash who wants to own a football club not expecting to get money back sadly not many of those folk around .

Somehow Carlisle have done it is not impossible but very difficult .

You don't keep someone in a position if they're running a company into the ground just because you "might" not find a alternative.

No one's going near the club while ever Hewitson is in charge.

We don't necessarily need a multi millionaire either. Just some communication, leadership, a level of ambition, fresh ideas and bringing some community spirit back into the club.

Very difficult to get investment from anyone .

Hewitson I am sure would step down as Chairman if there was a replacement .

One thing for sure we are just drifting along going through the motions of being  a full time football club .

If it's the start of a corner turn then I'll reflect differently but I'm just fed up with the acceptance of mediocrity tbh. The statement from the BoD this week has clearly had a bigger effect on me than I thought. A better performance is encouraging to hear but it was still against one of the weaker sides in the division. That we couldn't find a way past them doesn't really fill me with confidence tbh.

Think the news in the week put me on a downer.

Not really interested on how we played it is all about the result we are really struggling to score goals getting close means nothing

My overriding conclusion from the statement is ..............................if we are losing c.£250k per year being FT, serving up unattractive football allied to extremely poor results - the sooner we make wholesale changes to our model the better. There is no way that the status quo can continue. That said getting the next PT recruitment drive badly wrong could lead to L2 and worse. Lets hope that the current manager plays no part in the "change of direction" when it inevitably comes.

After some thought because we are so far from the Central belt I don't think the hybrid model would work for us.

We are losing around £20,000 a month  we have to go part time cut costs everywhere we can.

  15. Accounts are out as expected we lost another significant sum last season .

This season we will lose even more the Dykes and Covid money will cover the losses for now but it can't go on any longer. Will be major changes to the budget for next season .

We have to try the hybrid model have a mix of full and part time players.
