  1. Can only see one winner in this and that’s accies. Falkirk to be 5-0 down at half time…again
  2. Can we just have big dunc and dick Campbell scrapping in their briefs for 90 minutes please
  3. Wholly disagree and so does McCabe. Think I know who’s opinion I’ll side with
  4. Anything other than an Airdrie win would have totally flattered Raith. We were well in control of that game and competed very well. A good win
  5. Narrow front three for me! Feel we went for a more narrow approach in the Falkirk playoff first leg and they couldn’t live with us
  6. Hopefully we fulfilled our annual freak result quota last Saturday as I cannot take another drubbing. Raith are considerably better than Arbroath and as we know Smith, Easton and McGill can run riot when they want so we need to be right on it. In saying that, we can also be considerably better than what Saturday showed and it only takes a quick goal for us to get our tails up. McStravick is a big miss as he has shown glimpses of magic. I’d play the following team: Rae Ballantyne, Fordyce, Hancock, Watson Frizzell McMaster Aiken Mcgill Todorov Gallagher
  7. I don’t think McGregor or O’Connor start for me. They’re both absolutely rapid with little to no end product but they’re the last two players I’d want to see coming on in the 75th minute as an opposing defender. They’re impact players and not starters. Overall, I just don’t think we have that one player who can change a game for us (yet). McGill had a bright start against Partick but has been nowhere since. Raith on the other hand have one of the strongest squads in the league this season. Not looking forward to Saturday at all
  8. Just watched the goals back - What an absolute disgrace for the third. It’s not just a shite ball from McCabe but a total lack of desire that’s really annoying me. He absolutely flung Dycey and Rae in it with that sort of play and attitude. We all knew the back line was not the best for this league but that display was atrocious. Looked like an amateur team at times. Ballantyne maybe gets a pass mark but the rest were very poor. That O’Reilly from Hamilton should have been the first signing of the season but no… we stick with the most immobile defence in the league. I get that we can be open at the back due to our ‘all out attacking’ style but to lose 4-0 and not even have a shot on target is ridiculous. Big game next week to get this sorted out. Just to clarify, I don’t mind losing when we’ve played well but losing 4-0 and also being generally piss poor warrants a slating!
  9. Absolutely shite. McCabe is far too stubborn with his tactics. Passing it between our centre halves is not good football. It’s not dynamic and it certainly doesn’t work. We’ve got an absolute cheek to think we’ll be outplaying teams in this league. Our back line are not the players to be implementing a 2008 Barca style of football. Arrogance being misinterpreted as confidence in McCabes case.
  10. Here comes another example of how not to play against 10 men…
  11. Our back line aren’t the biggest but they go in for absolutely everything as you would expect. Fordyce rarely loses a header against anyone and Ballantyne is extremely aggressive. Not many strikers have bullied them to be fair. Where you may capitalise is when Rae/Fordyce/Watson make the inevitable pass directly to your forward lurking around the box. We have come to accept this as it happens at least once a game so keep an eye out
  12. Achieving less? Murray got us into two playoff finals! Think he took us as far as he could and his efforts more than merited a move to raith. McCabe needs to demonstrate that he can do it in the championship before any big clubs come calling
  13. A criticism of mine has been that we try and play passes when they are just not on. The second goal yesterday was the best example of that. Keeper is on the half way line with 9 Airdrie players in the DU box and he decides to play a tight pass on the half way line whilst being pressured by 2x DU attackers. I’m all for neat football but the truth is there are times when it’s 100% on and times when it’s 100% not and McCabe needs to convey that to the team. Rae should have whacked that back into the mixing pot yesterday in an attempt to salvage something from the game. I get that it’s all about being brave (Rae certainly was) but if you’re doing it just for the sake of doing it then it’s ineffective. As DU fans have pointed out, we play our best passing stuff when going forward. If dominating games is having the ball go between Fordyce and ATS for 10 minutes a game then I must be miles behind.
  14. Most stamping your feet post ever… now off you pop back to the threads of league one supporting… queen of the south
  15. I genuinely don’t think anyone disagrees with you. It’s great to see young and hungry players on the park but a lack of physicality in midfield and EXPERIENCE will cause us bother this season against much more physical teams. This is why having an experienced & physical player is essential to come in when needed. We only want the recruitment to be a bit more diverse with a mix of high potential and proven players. Hancock was a good example of the type of player I’d expect us to sign in conjunction with our younger signings. He’s played in the championship and looks physically capable to compete at this level. Everyone who has commented on signing youngsters is entirely entitled to. We don’t want the club to fail nor do we want to bring the party down but the signing of Gallagher the other night just looked like the easy option to get someone in the door.
  16. Nowhere near our best performance in recent weeks but showed some true grit when we went down to 10 men (which is very unlike us). Thought ICT looked good in spells but offered absolutely nothing in and around the box. Worrying times… Ref and lino were piss poor today. So inconsistent with his bookings. Nonetheless, excellent to secure another home win
