  1. Raith - Likely winners for me. They’re showing that resilience that you need to win leagues. Dundee United - Very good team with very good players. I just don’t like Goodwin. Partick - Been fairly unimpressed but can appreciate their experience in his league. Airdrie - We’ve held our own so far and have played well at times. Consistency is key and so are goals. Dunfermline - Will be absolutely fine. Good solid team. Morton - Thankfully someone told them that they are allowed to pass the ball to each other instead of blasting it out of the park at any opportunity. Ayr - I thought they were very good against us. High energy and good players. Inverness - honking without Wetherspoon. Arbroath - solid team and they know how to stay up. Gave us a lesson in defending. Queens Park- DOWN. STAY DOWN BOY.
  2. Feels like our form has improved just in time for this fixture but Raith will understandably still be favourites. The only thing that gives me hope is Murray’s ability to errmm shit his pants when things start getting serious although you could say he’s shaken that hoodoo off recently with the Dundee United win. Would happily take a point to maintain our unbeaten record against the league champions (IMO).
  3. I totally agree. The two up top worked very well and gave us more of a presence. McGill and Todorov aren’t the quickest forwards but put enough pressure on the ICT back line to force a few mistakes. As much as Megwa will be a big miss, Ballantyne is more than capable and actually better at going forward as you say. I think Ballantyne is probably is best player and is consistently an 8/10 every week.
  4. A much needed win today and an excellent second half performance. Positives: - We scored from a corner. I can’t remember the last time we did? Surely been a while. - Todorov scored. He was bound to score one of his many efforts but that was arguably his toughest opportunity yet and he took it really well. Hopefully more to come for the big chap. Also a big fan of him shooshing the QP fans. Love that shit. Areas to improve: - We need to ensure we start both halves with maximum effort. That’s been a few games now where our first half has been poor but we’ve picked things up in the second (albeit we are usually chasing the game at that point). Hopefully we can get a bit of consistency going.
  5. Pot kettle. I think you’ve missed my point: There IS an opportunity to clear out the dross AND bring in loan players.
  6. Do u just read my posts and try and disagree with at least one thing every time
  7. That was as bad as it gets. We have absolutely no plan going forward and no decent forwards to carry it out. Gallagher and McGill offered zero and our “midfield” were non-existent. We may as well have brought on a couple of boys from the stand instead of Todorov and O’Connor. I can’t even recall a decent move or string of passes bar Hancock’s cross around 80 minutes (which went out for a shy). That’s how bad we are at the moment. Morton had us sussed right out and caused us all sorts of problems. Just as well they couldn’t score either. Big opportunity in January to shed a few duds (Todorov, O’Connor, McGill, Cassidy, Dunlop) and bring in loan signings. This team is essentially full of league one players and it’s showing.
  8. Who would you be happy to see go in January if it meant freeing up some cash (hypothetical of course)? I would let McGill, Todorov and O’Connor go
  9. Totally agree Too many were blinded by promotion to notice how weak our team was
  10. Absolutely his fault. He was only signing boys who ‘fit with his style’ but then goes and signs Todorov (who will be taking a decent wage). Todorov is literally anti-football
  11. This all links back to McCabes stubbornness and reluctance to adapt our team to the championship. He should have signed at least 3 championship-level players back in the summer but he didn’t. He went for unproven youngsters in Aiken, O’Connor, McStravick, G. Gallagher. Only one of those signings has come good. The others being a total waste of a wage and jersey. You do not use the clubs first season back in the championship to ‘develop’ or ‘test’ out young players because it’s left if with absolutely no options coming off the bench. We are a team full of league one players trying to pass our way around the championship against physical and direct teams who have sussed us right out. Todorov can also go, he is rotten
  12. Aye, Gallagher is championship level alright NOT. Shocking performance. Totally clueless with zero threat up top.
  13. That wouldn’t be us joint bottom of the goals scored in the league table would it? I thought our attacking options in Gallagher, McGill and Todorov were adequate in this league according to many posters on here? We’re in big trouble if we don’t get some serious attackers in or at least different attackers. Gallagher, McGill and Todorov are much and the same (slow, laboured, poor control)
  14. He IS part of our biggest problem i.e lack of fire power up front. We wont be winning many games with McGill, Gallagher or Todorov up top. They’re league one standard at best and are being found out in the champ
  15. And yet I’d have every single one of those players in my team over Gallagher this season He scored for fun in league 1 but has really struggled in the championship this season. Cherry picking players with mildly worse goal contribution stats than Gal’s doesn’t really say much. Can guarantee that all of those players will have more goal contributions than Gallagher by the end of the season
  16. I think the frustrating thing for me is that Todorov was brought in despite McCabe saying that he only wanted to sign players who would fit in with his style. Everyone knew Todorov was a target man and would struggle to keep it on the deck. It has also become apparent just how ineffective Gallagher and McGill have been in the championship. Hate to say it but league 1 is probably their standard.
  17. Seems like the thistle fans can’t be trusted to respect the visiting fans. Quite poor that your own club has to acknowledge it.
  18. Think a draw would have been a fair result but if Partick are the team sitting at 3rd in this league I’m sure we’ll be absolutely fine. We’re a decent striker away from being a very good team but we should still be finishing chances. Absolutely love the thistle support forcing a derby between us. Desperate as it gets
