  1. I dunno if I prefer grass or astroturf. Never smoked astroturf. I think if Raith are having to rip up the excellent quality artificial pitch (zero call offs since it went in), to having a tattie field like Dundee, there should be some sort of maintenance fee commanded from the EssPeeEll or whatever they are calling themselves this month. They want to enforce it, then take it out of the pot for the league champions, scottish cup, league cup etc. Then we could maybe approach smaller part time teams, even shite like East Fife, and use their artificial surface ground for training on for maybe preferential loan players etc.
  2. Scarily, the Pars have a habit of lieing doon to teams so they win leagues...... RE walking about allowing Rangers (RIP) to skelp them 7-0 I think it was. Don't rely on the Pars to do anything v Utd. Although we can always hope
  3. Potentially blossoming connection with a La Liga side, and the possibilities of up and coming Tony Calderons or Paquitos coming our way for loans...... The board have also stated previously it (the game) will happen.
  4. I am looking forward to the game(s) against Las Palmas (and possibly Tenerife). Its a rare opportunity to watch our side play top level (La Liga) European sides away from home, in the sunshine. I had the opportunity when I went to the Faroes and Germany (missed Akranes away as it came along to quick). Now its my kids/grandkids turn. Not the UEFA cup of course, but as close as we will ever likely get again! Much more glamourous than Hibs any day. I will still be there for that game of course.
  5. If I'm honest, I was calling big Kev a clown and worse for about 5 minutes (in my head, no out loud!) on Friday night in the pishing rain. However on balance, he has probably saved us more points than he has been responsible for. At Arbroath his calamity cost the equaliser, he was not to blame for the offside ish winner. He is far from the finished article, and needs to learn to command his box better, and sort out his positioning at crosses, but he is in the Championship and not the Champions League for a reason. At worst I would maybe drop him for one game if he has consistent clangers, but the thought of bringing in an Andy McNeill against the Pars doesn't bear thinking about! Poor Andy McNeill current goalie has no chance of getting in for this one and its not his fault he has the same name as a balloon from the past.
  6. Totally agree. However both our teams have the fanny element. Call themselves "Ultras" despite the fact most of them are still waiting for their baws to drap. Saw trouble from BOTH sets of fans, and kicked off by one or the other in separate games this season. Ironically only way to sort them out is to give them a doing but that would just kick it all off..... Hopefully the game is the game, and there are no afters. Onto the game, I am the most nervy I have been for a Fife derby this season. Pars coming on to a game. Pars are 'due us one' statistically, and of course because in a few of the games it has been a hell of a lot closer than we like to admit. Also, and its the main one, we only seem to be able to beat the big teams just now...... Hoping for a classic, and a Rovers win of course.
  7. Every team needs a comeback when they have suffered a few defeats in a row. I sincerely hope that the Maryhill Magyars bounce back in style in this one. Will do your playoff hopes the world of good, and will also have a wee bonus.........for us!
  8. That could very well be my old flat! Miss that flat.
  9. Would need to be 6 oggies then! We don't win by more than one..... Best thing about tomorrow night is the pie. Looking forward to the pie. Will probably end up with 11 pies in blue shirts on the grass.
  10. Right Morton. We kept our end of the bargain - to keep your unbeaten run going. Now you keep yours and beat Utd eh?
  11. Yea, kind of realised when I thought about it, we've still to play them. Doh! Its been a long work day!! Me bad .
  12. Mon then, explain. If we win all our games and Utd win all their games Utd win the title. On goal difference. Unless the table is lieing?
  13. Not really in our hands though due to goal difference. If Utd at least match our results then we are NOT lifting the title.
  14. That was brutal. Trying to play flair players against a bunch of thugs is never going to work. Should have had Matthews on to shore the back 4 and let Broonie get forward to support Stanton. That would have tightened the usual acres of space left to the opposition in midfield. Hamilton played a good game drawing their defenders into fouls and yellies. Stats show we were toothless and had 3 shots, 1 on target to Mortons 11. They had 60% possesion too. Imrie got them playing like a team full of Imries. Dirty bordering on bullying. Still, it works for them so fair dos.
  15. After last nights brutalising from the Cappielow thugs, where we missed the chance to put some air between us and Utd, we are up against the bottom of the league side. Enjoy the day out to Arbroath, and have a wee soft spot for them. Pity they are bottom as there are others I would prefer to drop (ICT for a start!). Rovers a bit stuttery last night and our worst performance for a wee while. Arbroath on the back of a hiding at Hampden. Think this will be another tough game, but reckon we will scrape a win.
  16. Always good to get rid of disruptive influences. IF the rumours are true, and certain information was divulged to players then he can basically be blamed for the 5 defeats in a row/loss of form/look like the players were miles away. Probably cost the club a lot with peace keeping bonuses etc if thats the case. Pity though as I thought he was a decent right fullback. Anyway, he is gone. History. Onwards and upwards.
  17. This is going to be a tougher game than v Utd I think. Morton have hit some form since the shortest player on the park headed 2 goals against them at Cappielow a few months ago. We are just back in form. BUT if you wanna be the big boy in the playground, you got to stand up to all challenges. I'll take a shitty turgid 1-0 win (95th minute as usual) to put the pressure on the dayglo spoon burners.
  18. Sackable offence if rumours are true, so he is entitled to proper HR meeting etc. As we all would be at our works.
  19. Bovril? When I was there it was like a cup of hot water and pepper. Absolutely no Bovril/graviness about it. Disgusting. The burger, although expensive, was good though to be fair.
  20. Gretna - are they the same team as Gretna 2008? Must be if Rangers are surely......... Went for Stranraer. Place reminds me of Finport in Still game - deid full of old folk and neds. Nothing going on but the ferries. Arse end of the country. Tinpot wee town and a support that makes East Fife look huge.
  21. Muzza has a shoulder injury needing the knife. Ashcroft will be a cracking signing. Although wonder what happened to the lightning fast winger we were bringing in?
