  1. Thought the difference was the big number 9 for Gartcairn... he attacked their defenders and pulled them out of position and really out muscled them. That's where the first goal came from which ironically left him unmarked to tap it in. Excellent strike for the 2nd... and the 3rd was Drum chasing the game leaving themselves short at the back and only defender back was too easily beaten for another good finish. Drum seemed to want to walk the ball into the net. Played a lot of nice stuff without going anywhere. When they worked it wide, were far too slow getting the ball into the box and almost all shots were from distance that never troubled the goalie. Gartcairn defence were pretty much on top. After 2nd goal they sat in and Drum just couldn't open them up. Decent amount of shit-housery from Gartcairn slowing the game down when needed.
  2. The essentials... Got parked. Pies were acceptable. It wasn't too cold for most part. Ground is a little basic... Finished a 3-0 win for Gartcairn. They were clinical and took their chances while Drumchapel had plenty of the ball, but were reduced to shots from distance that were mostly erratic!
  3. She is Filipino... so basically spends all her time silently shivering! There is no sense of cold or colder! Disappointment is something she's surprisingly getting quite accustomed to as I drag her around grounds Good tip on the parking, though. Cheers for that.
  4. Hiya folks... little advice please! Thinking of dragging myself along to Drumchapel v Gartcairn tonight... looks like it should be a cracking wee game! But... will also be dragging the good lady... and she'll want fed! I'm assuming the standard refreshments/pies are on offer, but just want to be sure! And also how's the parking nearby? It's a totally new ground/team/town fir me to explore! Cheers folks.
  5. Agreed on Williamson... looked really good. Be great to get a wee further loan worked out for next season. I was behind the goal for the offside effort so couldn't really tell... it looked tight, but can never be sure from that angle... the lads pace probably made it look more off than on too! Thought officials were ok... ref was very slow in making any decision... but credit to him for when there was a clear foul, he let play go on and then went back to book the Sauchie player... dinnae see that too often down at this level!
  6. Aye... was very thin and a bit of a patchwork defence. That's probably the undoing in the end... same level of performance with a full squad in remaining games and we'll be fine. Although, said that before....
  7. And on another very positive note... I tried one of the Steak & Haggis with Peppercorn sauce pies tonight... they are legit phenomenal!
  8. Really disappointing defeat tonight... really a case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. 2-1 ahead with less than 5 minutes to play says a lot about issues seeing out games. But gonna look at the positives... a vastly better performance than when we last played Sauchie. Sauchie are a very decent side and pushed them all the way. Lots of good positive play and on another day, the score could have been different. A sore defeat to take, but it wasn't a flat performance which has so often been the case when results have been against us.
  9. Hopefully just a blip and if dominated possession, can probably say it was one of those days... Go again next week and keep up the performance levels. Let's get absolutely safe from a potential 4th relegation place with games to spare!
  10. That's a big thing... everyone can accept a defeat if there is effort and it just doesn't go for you on the day, or the opposition were just better, but you still played well. It's when you lose and everything is just flat and predictable that there are issues and you start losing faith.
  11. I was at the first game of the season for EK... mostly to see how Tranent would get on in their step up to LL EK won 3-2... and I immediately thought, very solid side, easily going to be at least contenders if not going on to win the league. They had goals in them, some solid, athletic units, were pacey, could knock the ball around, seemed well drilled, had a good amount of shit-housery going on.... It's the only time I've seen them so far... but sounds like something happened after the first few weeks and wheels have fallen off completely. Injuries? Consistency? Or is it really all just down to management having a mental aberration? Like I say, looked a very solid side back on day 1... so if management was the issue, then with same players and right man in charge... maybe next season EK will be up where I thought they'd be this season!
  12. Certainly a little slap back to reality after last weeks efforts! Wasn't able to get along... so hopefully, despite defeat, there was a decent performance...
  13. Treated the missus to her first ever pyramid game... and my first ever West of Scotland league match when we took in Shotts Bon Accord v Cumbernauld United. Really nice, old school set up at Shotts. Proper large standing enclosure on one side and a large open terrace on the other. Well stocked wee snack bar with decent grub too. Cumbernauld dominated, raced into a 3-0 lead. Shotts got one back and suddenly started to play as Cumbernauld looked to hang on. Shotts threw a lot at it, but dreadful finishing and solid goalkeeping meant no change to score. Really entertaining wee match with a crowd of about 75ish by my very inadequate headcount!
  14. There was a coach and a minivan going around between matches which I assume was the core of the pre-booked groundhoppers. So assume the others would be independent, so not dedicated to the games. I took in the last two matches... something to do early, so missed Dunbar game. Wrong side of country, so missed Haddington game (but took in Shotts Bon Accord v Cumbernauld United) So someone like me possibly skews figures too... just taking advantage of the later kick offs... and dragging the suffering missus with me.
  15. That's easily our best performance of the season... I think we are all a bit stunned by it! Big Errol (no.9) was tremendous and his two goals were both brilliantly taken. He's had injury issues and been played out of position a lot... but we saw tonight, get him a run of games up top and fully fit and what a handful. I've just woken still chuffed!
  16. Really enjoyable game... and a bumper crowd thanks to being part of the Groundhop weekend. Very good, well struck goal for BU to take the lead. Looked more likely to get a 2nd, but could see them tiring in last 15 mins or so and that's when Tranent kicked on... but never really got much on target and the BU defence challenged for every ball. Must be gutted not to hold out as it was a late, late equaliser. Tranent definitely seemed to have more energy towards the end... don't know if that was just due to them chasing the game.... Seems every time I see Bo'ness away to one of the better sides, they put in a pretty solid performance (last one was Stirling Uni)
  17. Tremendous performance tonight by the Brox! The performance we have been waiting to see for some time. Big Errol's two goals were excellent... especially the 2nd, strength, power, skill and shooting accuracy. Defensively we were solid. Having Dan Nimmo back makes us look far more solid. Pass marks all over the park tonight... out of possession every player pressed high and quickly and stopped Musselburgh playing. Even when they did build a bit of momentum, they were never allowed easy possession and there were none of the usual cheap mistakes giving the ball away. Absolutely 1st class in every way from Broxburn tonight. Has the corner been turned? That is a solid base to work from to be a serious side for next season.
  18. Hard to work out who the bigger sh**s are from that... the 7 permanently unnamed, never to speak up that voted for it... or the 3, also unnamed that abstained! How can you possibly sit on fence and abstain from kicking 200 other clubs in the face.... A salute to the 6 good guys, though! Odd how, while still not declared, it's likely them that will speak out on these votes...
  19. Thoroughly entertaining game tonight in front of a bumper Groundhopping crowd between Tynecastle and Sauchie. The entertainment may have been helped by two "interesting" refereeing decisions that saw both sides a man down fairly entry. Tynecastle pushed hard to equalise near the end, but overall Sauchie were the better side and went home with a nice 3-2 victory.
  20. Couldn't make it last night, but I figured it was a bit of a write-off anyway... which maybe made it a bit pressure off for the team too. By comments above, sounds like a few boxes ticked to hopefully push through with to end of season! All set for a nice Saturday night out in Musselburgh now...
  21. I don't think Blackburn are worse either... in fact they look the team that have enough goals in them to get safe... like post above, fully expect them to get the results against bottom 2 sides when they play... and that could also get close to wiping out any negative goal difference. I think Blackburn will be in the Premier next season.
  22. Weekend stag-do... and so my first ever Highland League match; Banks O Dee v Buckie Thistle. Quite a unique set up at BoD, but I quite liked it. They done themselves a favour taking an early lead as that meant Buckie had to reorganise themselves a little which took a little time to get going. Once they got going, though, was only one winner. Buckie were far better, played a lot of good stuff. 2nd goal in particular was a really well worked training ground move. Early 2nd half penalty to make it 3-1 killed the game. Buckie had there cushion and sat back comfortably keeping BoD at arms length. All in, a good wee day out in the sunshine to warm up for plenty beer!
  23. Certainly glad that I missed this one! A shocking result! Losing to any team by that scoreline is bad... but a team below you in the league, fighting against you for relegation... awful. That's two home thrashings recently from teams below us at the time. Linlithgow will no doubt easily get the job done to knock us out the cup in midweek. Musselburgh are really on form just now and I can only see them adding to the poor league results next week... and likely another big scoreline. We have maybe just enough points to beat relegation... but other than the two that are gone, the others all do look like they can pick up points here and there... Broxburn, I just can't see where points will come from. All remaining games are against teams above us, most of them away from home.
  24. Is there any chance of a fans survey? I mean, obviously I get that the SFA have absolutely no interest in the views of fans (except from maybe two clubs)... but surely they at least have to pretend...
