  1. Folk who don't like downtempo electronica can't be trusted.
  2. I've read the first two, they're thrilling enough and while away a few holiday hours. Agree re the obscene amounts of detail - the incredibly lengthy explanation of Wennerstrom's (sp?) finances really got my goat - there's far too much padding at times. Salander's a great character, though. 7/10 for those. Also read A Big Boy Did It And Ran Away by Christopher Brookmyre. My girlfriend's read a few of his books and recommended this one to me - I read the first chapter waiting on the plane to take off. Only big blip was that I didn't enjoy the opening chapter very much, but it's put into context as the book goes on. The books are very easy to read (this is meant as a compliment) and the characters are very impressively written. His posts on here (and other P&B'ers reviews) led to high expectations on my part, they were fulfiled. 8/10.
  3. "That awkward moment when you realise that SaltyTON is still a bigot"
  4. Played Lethamhill this afternoon, shot an 83. Not too bad. The three times I've played there I've birdied the par four 9th - I'll be gutted when that run comes to an end
  5. As long as "they're not attacking EACH OTHER", or something. Remember that one?
  6. I really don't like white bread - if I eat more than two slices I really do feel a bit groggy. Brown bread is more filling, tastes better too.
  7. Can just see the Sun headling now: "elite athletes with elite fitness teams in durability shocker"
  8. I know you're a clean-cut fellow now Chris McDonald, but that's nowhere near as asinine or annoying as anything else that's been posted in this thread. Don't be offended
  9. Right! I'm forever asking questions on here, and it may have been asked on this very thread, but I'm a shameless c**t so I'll ask again. I go out for the odd run and I'm about to join a gym. I need a new mp3 player. I could just get a massive iPod classic, but it's a bit pricey and I'm worried it's a bit too heavy and the headphone jack would break again (like my last iPod classic). I'm sure there are players out there more suited for running, but it would probably have to hold upwards of 16Gb. Can anyone help?
  10. Can you get tickets to gigs at the Arches on the door? I'm meant to be going for a night out tomorrow but I fancy going to see MONO instead.

    South Park

I get the feeling they're trying to say that the reason for the percieved drop in quality in their programme is due to their viewership ageing, rather than them alluding to the beginning of the end. It was probably the best episode of the season, to be fair. If this series is the last, I can't wait to see how they bow out.

The series has been utter toilet so far, but the most recent one was somewhat of a return to form. Have high hopes for the next one now!
  13. The comments above make me glad I didn't do a PhD. I reckon I'd have managed to present and defend something within those three years, sadly I worry too much about gold-plating things for me to have led any sort of a normal life - my final three years at university were lonely enough. I'd happily do one later in life, if I live the dream and take early retirement.
  14. Soldiers should get paid more than footballers...SFL2 footballers, that is.
  15. Oh yeah, and one of my own: <person> likes <unfunny joke/truism/tautology/tv quote> on <like page>.
  16. Top fives I know, but each of these annoy me: Some of my pals have posted this in the past. How would you feel if you're their partner? Horrible, histronic status. One of my girlfriend's pals has reams of photo albums, each with this title, when they all go on a night out. She's a possessive weirdo right enough - these sorts of girls probably actually are trying to claim a degree of ownership there. 17 top 5 points. God, I'm a misanthrope.
  17. I've started reading One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, by Ken Kesey. Good book, though a bit of a difficult read. I've also been reading some professional software development books, don't think you all want to hear about those though
  18. Wall Street - 8/10. Highly enjoyable yarn about the moral dubiety of 80's hyper-capitalism. Michael Douglas is magnificent!
