  1. I have no fucking idea how we can totally dominate the first 45 minutes and not put the game to bed. Poor finishing, numerous clear cut chances squandered. It should have been a convincing 3-pointer. And then to miss a free one-on-one penalty shot? But fair play to Lichties for their resilience, for their survival instinct, and for their ongoing ‘Morton bogey team’ status - and above all, fair play to Gaston for absolutely stellar goalkeeping. Judging by Schwake’s howlers tonight, we let the wrong keeper walk away. On behalf of this Morton supporter, I’ll leave this here as a memento of this evening …..
  2. 100% agreed. My massive frustration with Ton this season how the same team can turn in a stellar performance one week, and then be utter shite the next. Being successful in a league as tight as this is all about consistency. But tonight we've turned up and everyone's putting in a shift. So far. But we've been in this position against the LIchties before. We mustn't underestimate them or get complacent. They have an unnerving ability to pull something out of the hat when they're seemingly on the back foot.
  3. Put down the bottle and step away from the computer. And stop pretending that you're a fly on the wall listening to conversations in the dressing room, in the office, and on the training ground. And stop accusing the club manager of cronyism, hiring his mates to play for us with strings attached. Many of your historical posts have been absolute honkers. This one raises the bar to a whole new level.
  4. It's pretty much the same for everyone - the standard of refereeing in the Championship this year has been chronic. 10 cards on the pitch on Saturday was a joke. It wasn't a dirty, brutal game by any stretch of the imagination - plus the constant delays and stops/starts only served to contribute further to what sounded like a pretty dour game. A lot of supporters believe that a significant cause of this is that the best and most experienced refs have all been swallowed up as VAR officials - maybe they're right.
  5. In your other blindingly accurate post from a few days ago, you also predicted that we'd get pumped 3-1 or 4-1 unless Gillespie and McGrattan started .........
  6. I just can't get my head around why Gillespie and McGrattan keep getting sidelined. That midfield looks worrying.
  7. Fit and available this week according to Dougie's pre-match interview. Jai sadly still out for awhile by the sounds of it.
  8. Sorry to disappoint.. To me - being a 'proper' fan of the game also involves showing humility and respect to our opponents. But I totally get that we're all different. Very best wishes to you.
  9. Folks from Greenock aren't lunatics. They're just widely misunderstood
  10. I'd be content with us just making the playoffs, whilst having supporters of other teams realise that not all of us are complete nutjobs.
  11. None of the freebies are great. This one is the least worst - https://www.scorebat.com/ayr-united-vs-greenock-morton-live-stream/
  12. Well played Queens. Most of the time you out-gunned us, outran us, worked harder, looked way sharper and more clinical. I feel very, very lucky to see Morton walk away from that with a point.
  13. I think you’re probably right - and fair play to Queens if you do win it. Tomorrow’s game is absolutely massive for both of us. But depending on how we both do over the next few weeks, maybe still not as potentially massive as the return fixture at Cappielow on April 29th. Who knows? It could be one of those years where the title gets won or lost with the last kick of the last game. Exciting times. But gut-wrenching ones, too.
  14. The winners of this league will be the one team who remain completely consistent, waiting for the other contenders to screw up. The above two scenarios (based on the whole season’s often wild, unexpected results) could apply to literally anyone. To me - it’s still therefore absolutely wide open and too close to call. I said on another post that I’ve already been on Amazon ordering my arse-unpuckering device and a ‘nerves of steel’ gift set.
  15. Props to all the supporters of other teams who've taken the time to call by and pay their respects. Once in a blue moon, the game gets blessed with a figure whose massive contribution crosses all boundaries of town and shirt colour, and Allan fell into that most rarefied of categories. It's heartwarming to see such recognition from true fans of the game. Thanks for that. RIP Allan.
