  1. Normally, bricking the windaes of Jewish owned businesses will raise the eyebrows of the locals.
  2. Nope. It needs an electrician first and foremost to install some extraction capability. You brush freaks can GTF.
  3. He started life as a painter/decorator. #PrayforShandonPar.
  4. Probably still enough leeway for him to go off on long term sick leave, citing stress brought on by a 'managerial witchunt', so 6 months full pay, 6 months half pay during which he can spend some time lotus-eating on a Greek island and then a nice settlement payoff after he threatens the Uni with an employment tribunal. I'm rapidly coming to see the Prof as a hero for our times.........
  5. ^^^^I'm obviously way behind the curve here but what crimes against humanity has Linehan been accused of.? TIA.
  6. Someone in a previous post alluded to 'weak management' being the issue here. Have to say, that view would appear to be spot on. The HoS, the Deputy HoS, the Hoi and a director (@scottsdad) appear to have wasted an inordinate amount of time on an issue which should have been done and dusted as soon as the Prof signed his Contract of Employment. Presumably this shambles is played out frequently in academic circles.
  7. If I've understood the latest post, then the HoS has acceded to the Prof's demands. The HoS has previously been described by the OP as "a right b@st@rd" who will "take no shit" from the Prof, who will be "eaten alive" by the HoS if he comes the c*nt. This Prof has obviously modelled his m.o. along the 'Trigger's Broom' methodology.
  8. Stick to the brushes, Shandz. Packham and Attenborough have this gig sewn up.
  9. Stoap it, you cock teasing basturt........... Spill the beanz.
  10. Pray tell, which particular group of felons are housed in C Wing.?
  11. Surprised that the Mathematics household is home to such a cutesy wee dug. A 'Hound of the Baskervilles' man-eating, slobbering monster was expected.........
  12. Can't do pics atm but in my very humble opinion, one of the best new buildings in Scotland is the Macallan distillery and visitor centre.
  13. Absolutely. Jane Jacobs book 'The Death and Life of Great American Cities' is a good starting point if you are interested in town planning failures.
  14. At the time (early 1920's), Corbusier was at the vanguard of creating a 'new world' after the catastrophe of WW1. His large-scale town & urban planning ideas were cutting edge at the time and were adopted pretty much globally. Patrick Abercrombie's New Towns blueprint was a good example of this. It's easy to 'blame' someone for groundbreaking ideas with 100 years of hindsight.
  15. I'm not referring to Corbusier's individual buildings. Granted, Unite d'Habitation in Marseilles was revolutionary in it;s time. I was referring to his town planning ideas, in particular La Ville Radieuse, the ideas of which were exported to places such as Brazil (Brasilia) and India (Chandigarh), both new cities based on everyone having a car and living in a high-rise. Both were social disasters. Also look at Pruitt-Igoe projects in St.Louis and the exploits of Robert Moses in New York , which have left similar legacies to the damage inflicted on Glasgow.
  16. Blame our love of the car. And Le Corbusier. And in Britain, Patrick Abercrombie.
  17. "Worst Types of Posts on Pn'B" thread for this pish.
  18. Probably done already but Matt Lucas. Talentless waste of space. Grrrrrrr..........
  19. Nothing wrong with a wee bit of chub now and again.
  20. Chris, Argyle House is a first class abortion. Wouldn't even describe it as architecture.
  21. Does she help you with the enema before she nails you, you deviant.?
  22. Interesting comments from Clockwork. I'm genuinely intrigued as to the interview process / criteria that have been used in this situation. Presumably for an academic position at professor level, then this guy's previous research and published work, along with his 'standing' amongst peers within this specialised field makes it sound as if there wouldn't exactly have been a stampede of suitably qualified applicants for the post. Even although this guy has signed up to a specific contract, his hubris allows him to ignore the duties contained within same and rewrite it / pick and choose what he is prepared to do ? Academia sounds a bit f*cked up.
