  1. Why were they running back and forward to the gate?
  2. I don't think foul throws are a thing anymore, unless they're very blatant. Probably 50% of throws that we see nowadays are fouls technically.
  3. Watch Rankin picking the skin off his fingers. He's a bag of nerves!
  4. He actually did, once, very early on. I remember being surprised that he managed it because he didn't win many for us.
  5. That wasp looks like it's flown into a few windaes!
  6. I thought Alloa were as good as any team we've played in the first half and it was quite close up until half time. I reckon that, if they can perform like that consistently, they'll have a good chance of the play-offs. We played well throughout but were absolutely brilliant in the 2nd half. No real failures although I felt that McCann and McIvor weren't quite at their best. Spencer, Henderson and Nesbitt were brilliant. Also like to thank Hamilton for Dylan Tait!
  7. Still haven't answered the question. What did you think of the performance today?
  8. You don't say, didn't know that! What's your opinion on what I said though? Do you disagree that he should be allowed some leeway?
  9. Depends on the nature of the performance. If we're well on top as we have been in almost every game this season, but end up being unlucky, then I'd be really disappointed if the fans turn on him. He deserves to be cut a huge amount of slack!
  10. Surely would just be a straight swap, Ross for Morrison?
  11. I thought the last sentence was a tad ironic right enough!
  12. I was just a wee bit concerned about the interview. He wasn't just quite as upbeat as usual, obviously down to the defeat, but I also think the pitchgate thing is still rankling with him, despite him saying that we need to put it behind us. I hope that the comments re the players being buzzing and them having a great week's training are accurate? I was a bit bothered with the signings chat too. IMO, although we have good numbers in most positions, I do think we need to bring in a right sided CB. I wouldn't want to lose Hendo from the middle, I'd rather we had a ready made replacement. From his comments though, it sounds unlikely.
  13. I'm not complaining at the state of the pitch on Saturday, as I said, I've seen much worse. I'm talking specifically about the sloping issues. It could be like a carpet but I still wouldn't agree with it being allowed. I've only been once, at a pre-season friendly a couple of seasons ago. The pitch was fine then but I still said as much at the time.
  14. It's not great, that's for sure, and it often feels like players taking a corner at our end of the park are on the same level as the crossbar! (Nowhere near it of course), but it's nowhere near as bad as Bonnyrigg. Hypothetical question: let's say that Bonnyrigg managed to gain promotion to the Premier, do you think they'd be allowed in with a pitch like that, or would the rules magically be changed to stop them?
  15. Aye, but most pitches tend to be flat. I'm not making excuses for our defeat or performance - we should have been able to overcome the conditions. I've seen (and played on) pitches in much worse condition, but I've never seen a pitch that slopes up and down, side to side and has wee occasional dips the way that Bonnyrigg's does. It's 2024, not 1964. Things have moved on and there are all sorts of rules and regulations re grounds, I don't think it's too much to ask to be able to play on a level pitch. I wonder why they haven't installed plastic?
  16. This obviously sounds like sour grapes-but it's not. I don't think Bonnyrigg's pitch should be allowed at all in the professional game. There are fewer slopes on the Ochils and their team will obviously know how it plays better than any visiting team.
  17. Despite defeat, Gary Naysmith having to have his legs surgically removed from his arse, after being ridden silly by Crunchie in 1998, is also a stand-out for me!
  18. Given he can't get a game for Morton, I think he'd be a bigger risk than Long.
  19. I suppose he was a bit of a luxury player but I always thought he was a good option to come on to unlock a defence when needed and he usually gave us some good entertainment too.
  20. I think Long's biggest fault is coming for balls that he has little chance of getting. Other than the aberration against Dundee Utd, I think every mistake has come down this. If he could cut that out I think he could become a very good keeper.
  21. Just seems to be Lawal's replacement I think.
  22. What striker is out there that's a proven goal scorer and would fit into a one up top formation? Shanley's goal scoring record isn't too bad I don't think, particularly as he was playing for EC, who weren't creating loads of chances. I agree that we haven't seen enough of him to form a solid opinion, but he already looks more suited to the role than Allan (who was scoring regularly for Clyde) did. Unless it's another striker that can play on his own and has a good scoring record, then we won't have seen enough of any further addition either.
  23. So you think that McGlynn paid a fee for a player that he didn't intend to play?
