  1. Completely agree. The fact that players can get booked and even sent off when they have no idea that the ball was anywhere near their arm in the first place really gets on my tits!
  2. Presumably you're just showing that to prove that it doesn't hit his back? It hits his side, it's most definitely not a penalty.
  3. I can understand 30 seconds per sub if they're made at separate times, however, a full minute when two are made at the same time is excessive. Maybe another 10 seconds, but no more surely?
  4. I'm afraid so, yes, because the lino was running in the other direction following the ball. Possible I suppose that the stand side guy could have given it but unlikely as he was on his way to the half way line and would have been looking through a lot of players. I get that there will be over-reaction from fans, but that's based on the appalling standard of refereeing that we've endured already this season. Some decisions have been absolutely laughably bad. I'm sure that you could point to a good few bad decisions given against Alloa this season?
  5. The ref. was dreadful. One example: Donaldson clearing the ball, Sammon slides in and fouls him, ref gives nothing (because he wasn't looking), turns round, sees Donaldson rolling about and gives the foul.
  6. Aye, I thought that was very poor. Toys oot the pram stuff IMO.
  7. He's started as the lone striker more often than you'd think and it hasn't worked.
  8. Aye, Burrell is a better finisher IMO, however, he's only scored 4 when starting games out of a total of 9 (I think). Two of those were in the same game v QotS, one was against Wick and the other in the Challenge Cup v Partick. The facts are that he's far better coming off the bench when defences are tired and Oliver's better starting because he can hold the ball up well, bringing Morrison, Kennedy, Nesbitt etc into the game. I'd love to see Burrell starting games, running the legs off centre halves and scoring loads but the evidence points to that not being the case. We've hit upon a formula that's doing well and I think we'd be best to leave it alone.
  9. Whilst there's no doubt that McKay is very much improved, he's nowhere close to being POtY. I would have (in no particular order) McCann, McGinn, Henderson, Donaldson, Burrell, Morrison, Nesbitt, Kennedy and probably even Oliver ahead of him.
  10. Aye, all the best to Sean. I used to work with his dad and hadn't realised until I read the Herald story that he had passed away.
  11. That's what we should have for female football commentators IMHO.
  12. Ah, but this isn't just any Falkirk team, this is an M&S Falkirk team!
  13. From a purely selfish point of view I'd like the Friday or Monday as I can't make the Saturday but we'd obviously get a better crowd on the Saturday.
  14. Aye, they really shouldn't be allowed to sell tickets for a game where a high percentage of the away crowd can't see the match, despite the fact (I assume)* that there are warnings to that effect when the tickets are being purchased. I didn't see either of the first two goals and was lucky to see the last 3 properly. *Canny mind.
  15. Meant to say as well that this wasn't just a walk in the park against some duff junior outfit, Darvel have a squad that is well above that and wouldn't look out of place in L2 or possibly even L1. The team and management deserve enormous credit for the job done.
  16. Think he lost one bollock v Alloa and the other one last night!
  17. Aye, some idiot shouted to Williamson that he was 'an arsehole' because he spends more time injured than playing! Re the game: I thought it was a very professional performance. McGlynn had obviously noted their strengths and nullified them with Henderson having a brilliant game, easily MOM for me. I don't think it would have been 5-1 if the guy hadn't been sent off (bloody stupid challenge BTW) but I do think we'd have scored again and didn't think we were in any real danger at any point anyway. Actually, it could be argued that we should have scored more given the chances we had? I think McShane intended the cross to reach the strikers and PJ took his eye off it for a brief second expecting the same thing so was caught out, he should have been able to palm it out though. Other than that he had a good game with that 1st half save being top notch. Ayr will be tough but certainly winnable.
  18. I think if Yogi gets a gig at any of them Scottish football will be up!
  19. I haven't read the thread so don't know what's been said, but was the penalty as dubious as it looked on the highlights? Looked like Smith landed on his arse and the ball hit him with him knowing little about it. No doubt that the incident completely changed the game.
  20. I was born in F&DRI so I'm a bona fide Bairn. I 'come' from Bonnybridge though and almost joined the hordes who get on a bus to Ibrox every other week simply because everyone else in my class did. When my dad got wind of this though he told me in no uncertain terms that it wouldn't be happening as he knew it would be an unhealthy thing to do. (Very wise man my dad!) He had no interest in football at all but insisted that if I was going to support a team that it would be Falkirk. I'm very glad that he did, despite the fact that so many of my weekends have been ruined ever since!
  21. Why did you start supporting Falkirk as a matter of interest?
  22. You may have something there, although I would imagine that the majority of Falkirk fans who live in Larbert and Stenhousemuir don't actually come from there. Me included.
  23. Me too, I don't mind them at all. In fact, if we were to cease to exist I could see me regularly going to games, not as a fan as such, but to wander up to the ground (I stay in Larbert), maybe having a pint on the way, then a pint to two in the Wee Bar before and after the match.
  24. I went to the Stenny v Elgin game a couple of weeks back because I didn't fancy not being able to see us beat Edinburgh at that woeful stadium. That eejit was sitting just behind me and he, along with a few others around me, were cursing when Falkirk scored. 'Awe fur fuks sake Fawkirk' alerted me to our second goal. (That was someone else, not him). So obsessed that they're checking their phones for our score while their own team are playing. Bitter little people.
