  1. Well I certainly wouldn't want to see the likes of Donaldson, McGinn or, especially, McCann lining up against us! Also, whilst he's very infuriating, Morrison would no doubt tear us a new one if playing against us.
  2. He does hate us, but then I think he probably hates everyone, himself especially!
  3. f**k me , could you not have kept him until Saturday morning?
  4. Can't think of any of McGlynn's signings that have done much wrong to warrant being dumped TBH. Considering that we're in L1, I don't think we could get much better than those he's signed.
  5. Aye, I reckon we could afford him if we played a 1 formation wae nae subs. Ok, might be enough for a part time goalie too.
  6. Last I heard there were 620 members contributing an average of £12 monthly so that's £7440. That would work out at £267k over 3 years.
  7. I'll guess at Williamson, McKay, Wilson & Martin.
  8. Forgot about Alston, he just left at the end of his contract, like Sibbs. I had Scobbie and Barr as pre-academy as I don't think it was officially an academy at the time. Still came through the youth system though.
  9. Do you mean youngsters who hadn't yet played in the first team? I can only think of Sibbald who had played first team football that we lost for nothing.
  10. I was more worried about McKay at CH TBH. The positive is that Donaldson will now serve his suspension at home v Queens and I'd rather that than away against Alloa. I don't think Hetherington would bottle it either. I mean, he's pish, but he can battle a bit and I think that Nesbitt would have ran around enough to keep warm.
  11. Weird. I know Ochilview was played on on Thursday when temperatures were lower than over yesterday and today, with no issues. I see that the hill behind the goal hasn't been cleared in that photo so maybe it's something to do with health and safety for fans? Edit to say that the BBC has it off as 'weather' as opposed to a frozen pitch so it's got to be the burst pipes in the bog or the uncleared terracing
  12. Aye but the point I'm making is that, if we can keep a hold of the players I've mentioned, we won't be dumping a squad and having to rebuild because we'll already have the nucleus. It would be a matter of adding half a squad with the new guys hopefully seen as starters. We'd need to be offering deals to Burrell and Lawal very soon though as I'm sure there would be interest in them from others.
  13. I don't disagree with the majority going as we'd hopefully still have PJ (not too sure about him TBH), Donaldson, Henderson, Mackie, McCann, McGinn, Yeats, Lawal and Burrell forming the start of the squad. If we could somehow replace the McGuffies and Hetheringtons etc with first picks we'd be in pretty good shape. I think McCann's an excellent player and I'd be trying to give him an extension right now if we can. I think he's signed to the end of the 2024 season anyway though.
  14. Christ, lecturing me on reality?! McCann is the ONLY one of his signings that he got right and has given us value for money. McKay, Williamson, Hetherington, Ross, Wilson and McGuffie have all been various shades of shite. Nesbitt turns up sometimes and is the only other Holt signing that should be considered for a first team slot, however we've got to suffer them all until at least the end of the season and beyond in McKay's case. I don't think any of them will be offered a new deal other than possibly Nesbitt, depending on his form from here on in and, believe it or not, possibly Hetherington who McGlynn uses in a very specific way as a substitute. The McKay and Nesbitt keeping McGlynn signings out of the team bit doesn't really stack up. Presumably you're talking about Yeats and Lawal being the signings that aren't getting a game? McKay is playing full back in front of Yeats because Yeats isn't a full back and I think he favours experience in the position. He also likes height in the team and sees McKay as a goal threat at set pieces (which he is). Nesbitt in front of Lawal I'll give you however, it was suggested to me that Lawal wasn't doing the defensive bit of the game and needed a bit more coaching in that regard. He's also prone to picking up a booking or two with some rash challenges but he's young and raw and I think McGlynn will improve his game in both regards. He'll certainly be in front of Nesbitt in time IMO.
  15. Don't talk such utter shite! Holt gave two and three year deals to some folk who were substandard and that would seriously affect our ability to get out of this league. Most of them would have accepted a one season deal just to get a gig FFS. None of us would have had any problem with Holt handing out two year deals if they were to players that could actually benefit us. Mackie, Henderson and Yeats are as good as we could have got at this level and have shown this on the pitch this season. Try a wee bit of positivity from time to time. Merry Christmas BTW.
  16. Bearing in mind that he's building a squad, not just a first 11, I don't see anything wrong with any of them. Would I rather we had better? Of course I would, but in the 3rd tier of Scottish football? Gie's a break man.
  17. I'm not very confident about this TBH. The idea of big Brad trying to play out from the back like Donaldson does gives me the fear! I just hope that McGlynn has him and Mackie told to get rid of the ball asap.
  18. Sad new indeed. Before my time but a bit of a legend by all accounts.
  19. Never questioned by whom? Me? If I think someone's wrong in what they're saying I'll tell them. I can't speak for anyone else however.
  20. I know what you're saying and you're right in that anything can happen in a match. Very fine margins and all that. Individual errors will affect all teams, some more than others though. McGlynn is responsible for signing and coaching the players though so he's got to accept his share of the blame when the players he puts on the pitch feck things up. Similarly, he should accept a good slice of the praise in improving individual players and the team in general.
  21. Because some posters, not all, are relentlessly anti club/manager/board in every post they make in here.
  22. Yes because a) we can't afford to pay him off and b) because I think there's been improvement. Caveat being that if we finish way off due to some kind of collapse we would obviously need to re-think things.
