  1. you've got to be a wee bit of a dick to quote yirsel but i'll do it anyway. 'only so confident of a win' rock on Tommy, 3 pts in the bag and still top of the league
  2. on paper it's a Falkirk win, on form I'm only so so confident of a win but would be disappointed if we didn't. Yip, it's pessimism season, that creeping doubt every Falkirk fan will experience as the season progresses and we keep getting the results if not the best performances.
  3. I think that for both ourselves and Accies our biggest mistake could be thinking this is a 2 horse canter. Montrose and QoS (on Saturday's showing) could easily take the lion's share of points in their games going forward. It will be interesting to see the league at the half way point. I still think we'll both be 1 and 2 (not sure what order) but I'd not be surprised if the gap to 3rd was smaller than the current 9 points. Roll on the fitba, Have not enjoyed a season so much (so far) since Housty and Alan Stubbs were sparring in the play offs. 'Falkirk are just a set ball team' 'Hibs need to learn how to defend set balls then'... touche Stubbs ya miserable sod
  4. I was never confident of the win as I said in the pre match thread but after going one up I feel we got it wrong tactically. The game was there for us to sit deeper, defend in numbers and hit QoS on the break. However we left ourselves wide open on both wings and paid the price for that several times. QoS could have been ahead before McGlynn changed it on 60odd minutes and I'm glad he did but we could have made the change even with the players on the pitch 10mins after the 1st goal when it was obvious QoS had sussed us out. All in all a point was good for us as I don't think we deserved all 3 over the 90mins. We need to work on it though as more and more teams will play as QoS did, especially at TFS.
  5. back to QoS v Falkirk. I'm confident we can win, but not confident enough to say we will win. A draw won't be a disaster but we should be good enough, on QoS's current form to be favourites. In saying that, I'm avoiding this one on my coupon. mo'n the Bairns
  6. 1 in 5 from our average home support, that's not to bad tbh. Anyone thinking we're getting 2400 to join is living another dream.
  7. watching the game I thought Hamilton came to stifle and go away with a draw. However the stats tell a different story with them having a fair bit more possession and more shots on target although I don't remember any of them troubling Long. Both teams were as good and bad as each other on the day in what were awful conditions on a heavily sanded, grassless sticky pitch....
  8. my tuppence. Hamilton set out to stifle us and make sure they didn't lose which they did very successfully. The stats however show Hamilton having more possession and more shots on target which it didn't feel like watching the game. In the end we're still top so well done to the team and we can go into the cup game on a brilliant undefeated run. It's going to be very close this season eith both teams not dropping too many points and I expect our visit to New Douglas park on 16th Dec to be another 6 pointer and top of the league decider. I'm being positive about yesterday's result in what were horrible comditions.
  9. with the money being raised each month/year FSS need to understand that cash talks and just withhold any future cash to the club till the 25+1 conditions is met. Let's see who gives first.. Simples
  10. I've not been Donaldson's biggest fan but I honestly felt sorry for him yesterday. Our midfield had a shocking 1st half but McGinn in particular and Donaldson and the other guys in defence had no outball at all. I'm more worried that McGlynn has a starting XI already picked and it is no where near our best XI. Peterhead were poor in the second half after we started running at them but we can't expect to go behind this season and be able to score at least 2 every game.
  11. anyone caught cali g them 'Ul***s' needs a boot up the arse. Falkirk have never and shall never have an Ultras section. Awa' tae Galatasary if you want that pish going on. f**k the drum tae, if they had any originality it wid be a full brass band
  12. Donaldson looked out of his depth against Strollers in our friendly never mind last night where he was utter dross in the first half. He needs a serious kick up the arse. He has started like he finished last season and even for league 1 it isn't good enough.
  13. Lang was not at fault for the goal last night. The tactics of playing it out from the back with a group of players who simply aren't skilled enough to do it is the problem. If McGlynn can't see that then it will be calamity after calamity this season. Dear McGlynn, you're not Pep and we're not Man City. Play to out skill levels and ability and not from Fifa's 'how to look braw' handbook
  14. serious question. How many games do we give McGlynn if the team aren't in the top 2 and hunting for automatic promotion? I'm suggesting any more than 6pts ie 2 wins of first place after 9 games and he's out on his ear. There is no excuse I'll accept this season
  15. have no fear, we shall adopt a new bogey team.
  16. Big Hendo does not arrive early or late in the box Frodo Baggins, he arrives exactly when he means too.
  17. I simply can't wait for John McGlynn's end of season round up on the FFC website. Our season finished on Tues 9th and he still hasn't given us his summation of this season's campaign
  18. christ no, he slowed down the game down every time the ball came to him. I lost count the number of times he was caught out of position and for a centre half, if you've no pace the you need to stay 5yrds closer to your box than a forward that could give Linford Christie a run for his money. League 1 is about as good as he'll get and we'll continue to leak stupid goals if he stays
  19. I'm at a loss as to ehy anyone believe's Donaldson is anything other than pish. He's slow as a wet week in Skegness, has zero vision for a pass amd little to no zonal awareness.
