19QOS19
Disney on Ice today. Given the light carpet is immaculate, I assume the wee one is allowed in that room only for photos?

supermik
The resilience of children should never be underestimated. My girl had a big operation at 2 year old that had the wife and I fearing the absolute worst. The following day I was chasing her through the ward as she was tearing about on a little tricycle and I was pushing her stand that had all her drip bags on it. Maisie looks great.

She had a shite morning a nursery yesterday so she's going in this afternoon for a few hours. She better man up and get use to it for Monday as she's in 8am until 6pm.
Sweet Pete
The nursery thing is a tricky one, definitely takes some getting used to for both the kids and the parents.

sjc
Just a wee update on my daughters treatment. (Sorry for the long winded post) We received the molecular testing results of the tumour back from Tokyo in January which unfortunately told us that it wasn't wilms tumour as the favourability tests suggested but rhabdoid tumour of the kidney which is far more aggressive and the statistics make grim reading. Sakura's treatment was immediately changed to 30 weeks of chemotherapy and 7 days of radiotherapy. She's just finishing cycle 3 of chemotherapy (cycle = 3 weeks) and completed the radiotherapy last Tuesday. She's doing well in spite of her white blood cell count hitting the floor for about 10 days every cycle which has resulted in 4 blood & platelet transfusions to date. Recent MRI & CT Scans have shown no metastases (relapse) which is good news. We're currently living in the hospital which whilst isn't ideal it's good that we're all together for each other. One step at a time continues to be the way forward for us here. Gambatte as they say in Japan! The outdoor pic is from 3 weeks ago when we were allowed to take Sakura home for 2 days before her 3rd chemotherapy cycle & radiotherapy started.....was nice to feel normal again!

You just have to break it down into little steps Iike 1 chemotherapy cycle or 1 day of radiotherapy at a time otherwise you get swamped by the enormity of what Sakura is dealing with. You almost have to trick your mind of reality. No other way really.
