11 month old and belting out a song is impressive.
I'd leave it a bit and then speak about it at a later date. 11 month old I wouldn't be worrying about it to much.

I didnt say he belted out a song, i said the FIL was trying to get him to copy words associated with celtic/ ireland etc which given his age I dont particularly want to have him say amongst his first words, regardless if he remembers it or not. Given the propensity for kids to repeat words over and over I dont want to hear ‘celtic’ or the like a hundred times a day.

A small quiet word. Tell him what team you want your kid to be saying, Dundee etc

Least my 6 year old knows that Dundee aren't very good

Tbf you could be any age up to 66 and know Dundee aren't very good...

You’re 100 percent in the right @Inanimate Carbon Rod Regardless of whether it’s just Celtic stuff or rebel stuff he’s doing something with your kid you don’t want him to do so your options are to put up with it, or put your foot down, and if he persists tell him he’ll not be seeing his grandkids again, or if he is it will be supervised.

I appreciate some might find this relatively minor in comparison to some things discussed, but im absolutely livid. Working today so the mrs took our 11mth old to the outlaws for the day. My FIL is a big celtic fan and I couldnt hate the old firm more. My wee guys starting to pick up odd words and my mrs knows how strongly I feel about keeping him away from all the bile and shite of the old firm. If when hes older he decides to support one of the arse cheeks then thats his choice and il reluctantly accept it. Now ive said to her and him that I feel really strongly about it, but any time im down he sings celtic songs to him and today has been trying to get him to say celtic and sending me pics of him wearing celtic scarves etc. Its possibly more that im annoyed because I know its a dig at me but im fucking raging with both of them. I dont want to have a blazing row with her on her first mothers day but I dont know what to say both when she gets home and in future if that shite starts on visits. I know there are some decent old firm fans on here but im not having someone sing rebel songs etc to my kid and just feel really angry. Am I out of order?

Certainly not out of order, your FIL needs telt on the qt. My youngest son had a wee word with his FIL early on to nip it in the bud, as he supports one of the OF. It’s a fathers job imo to influence his son, not the grandfather. He’s obviously not bothered about offending you, so get leathered into him.

57.  Dundee won the 1st division in both our lifetimes.  You're more likely to remember it than me ;)

I meant to write"56" actually, but couldn't be bothered changing it. And no I don't remember the Dark Blues lifting the title, it happened just before I started going to matches.

Funnily enough, one of my earliest footballing recollections was reading about Accrington Stanley's demise on the back page of the P&J, but Dundee winning the title passed me by, more's the pity.

My wee boy goes to nursery tomorrow, my wife is up to 90 worrying about his napping.

My daughter sleeps as much at nursery as she does at home, all the kids have naps in sync with one another there.

Catherine never slept at nursery. She would still nap at home regular as clockwork but days she was at nursery she just refused. Too nosy.

The bairn is 9 this week.

Ive told her she’s approximately half way through all of her allowable time living under my roof.

Was her response along the lines of, “Christ, only halfway?”?

My eldest (6) is obsessed with football, and in the last year he has completed rejected any toys he had before and is only either outside with a ball or plays with a soft cushion ball inside, he watches more way more football than I do so he's at the age where things are going to stick. We go to Dunfermline every home game and in the last year he's got attached and the Pars results will affect his mood for the rest of the Saturday evening. My wife's family are all Celtic and he has an very clear leaning to them. He has Dunfermline strips/training tops but he also has various Celtic merchandise, games, jacket, water bottle.

I don't really have too much of an issue which way it eventually goes. I'm responsible for his parenting and ensuring his attitude growing up is right and proper. If it goes the Celtic way, I'll do my best to make sure he isn't of a 'bile and hatred' type. I'd even go along to games with him to make sure his attitude isn't going the way it can with the OF. Prioritise him not being a p***k over supporting the same club as you.

Baby Grace is here again along with innumerable others. Mayhem, quite frankly.

She's back tonight but has only 2 with her, so not so much mayhem.

You can’t beat that 1/2 hour after they leave of total silence, before spending an  hour putting your house back together
