bunglebonce
THHP has had a re-design, launching today with a retrospective piece on the history of Ferranti through to Meadowbank. http://www.tellhimhespele.com/a-tale-of-two-thistles/
Alfie Olek
It took me ages to find this thread I take you guys are thin on the ground. Anyway Jesus Garcia Tena has been training with Accies for the last few weeks and our manager is quoted in the local paper as saying he hopes to sign him this week end is he any good?

EdinburghLivi
The Club Earth thread is the one you should be looking for, my friend.
LIVIFOREVER
It's a good sign when this thread has dropped that far down you can't find it, usually only gets posted on when it's bad news about finances. Prob 500 of the pages are about admins and such shit. JGT was entertaining with his runs up the park beating several players but not so sure about his defensive abilities. Fans favourite at Livi but being honest our defence was shite at defending set pieces.

ObserverFromAfar
Has the Suporters' rep on the board, David Stoker, left his role? Was it the end of his stint? If so, have the supporters been offered the chance to select a new board member? Or has he resigned ... or left involuntarily?

MCL
Has the Suporters' rep on the board, David Stoker, left his role? Was it the end of his stint? If so, have the supporters been offered the chance to select a new board member? Or has he resigned ... or left involuntarily? He's making out its the end of his stint on Livilions but it's about 6 months too early. He was elected about February 2012 IIRC for his second 2 year stint. The "Trust" have been caught on the hop because they haven't started proceedings to elect another fan on the board. Only "Trust" board members are eligible and they need to submit a CV as part of their pitch to the members for the vote and there are legal deadlines to follow. I think it's doubtful we'll see another fan on the board.

Brewing up a storm
Said on the OS it was for personal reasons. That could be anything. Is probably most likely to be down to amnesia. He certainly had an outbreak a few years ago when he claimed that the reason he was one of the three or four Meadowbank Thistle fans who stabbed fellow supporters in the back to endorse Franchise L********n was because he didn't really know much about Thistle at the time. Conveniently forgetting he'd turned up at Thistle games for years, had been involved in pulling together a fanzine and knew entirely what was going on at the time. It's one thing to be a complete Judas, an entirely different one to deliberately lie about it.

ObserverFromAfar
Who seriously still gives a f**k about Meadowbank Thistle? Get over it. The comments from Brewing Up A Storm provide an interesting insight and contextual background based on his/her view of events based on a time before the vast majority of current fans took up an interest in the football club. As such it is ignorance not to appreciate there is a history and background which needs to be explained. Moving on 18 years, why, based on what I see on here or 'supporter operated forums', are only 1 or 2 fans wondering: - about the nature of the Trust's rep departure from the board - can a replacement fans' rep be put on in his place - are there any more issues or problems our there that this is diverting attention from, ie is the club in danger of going through its 4th financial crisis. Given the commentary on here from a limited number of individuals about the size of the directors' loans, then my perception is that the fans are silent and therefore not overly concerned the silence demonstrates consent that things are all tickety-boo.

Doubt any Livi fan thinks everything is tickety boo. Also doubt any Livi fan wants to discuss the clubs problems on here either as the above posts give you an insight into the mentality of other teams fans. This site really isn't the best place for a livi fan to discuss any serious concerns they may have about the club.
GordieBoy80
In all fairness Meadowbank Thistle weren't viable as they were. If they hadn't moved and changed to Livingston they would have died.
ObserverFromAfar
In all fairness Meadowbank Thistle weren't viable as they were. If they hadn't moved and changed to Livingston they would have died. Short but incorrect. Meadowbank Thiatle weren't unsustainable prior to William Provan Hunter assuming 'control'. Upto that point the club was cash rich due to superb financial management of the late John Blacklaw. The myth that viability could only be achieved in Livingston was proven mythical by the first close shave with administration/liquidation (occuring under WP Hunter's 'control') in 1998 which was only averted due to the generosity of a Lottery winner. With 2 administration events since then, and the current round of boardroom and financial uncertainty, it is clearly evident that, no matter what their business model, 18 years on Livi have never been, or ever will be, viable.
