Honestly, no harm to you guys, but you’ve sold 60 tickets for Wednesday night. You are just not a top division team and kill the atmosphere wherever you go. 1500 Killie away fans on Saturday. Get down and get Dundee United back up.

Bide yer time.Youl get your wish soon enough, frustratingly.

Utd will be coming up regardless.

If Killie were on the run we are i doubt you'd be taking 1500 to away games, you're having a good season just now. Anyway, crowdwanking doesn't win promotion, or Falkirk would be up here and not down in League One.

BTW no harm to you, but hope we pump you ya crowdwanking c**t.

When you suggest access to a level of competition shouldn’t be merit based then you end up on slippery slope … to places like the European Super League.

Is there any chance that Martindale walks away, and if he did, how likely do you think Bartley would be for the managers gig?

0 chance he will walk away, and the chairman said last week that if Martindale leaves then he will too.

Are you desperate to get rid of him? 😄

Could've seen Marv take over as our manager if he'd stuck around, and Martindale going into a DoF position, doing the recruitment. Don't know if that would still be a possibility now though.

Would be good if we got told what our plans for the future is, if we've got plans in place for when Martindale leaves, either to another club or taking a step back out of the limelight into a DoF position. The pressure he's under just now has probably made him think about whether he still wants to be in the job next season.

Yes, not just because the football on his pitch, but his interviews should be a sackable offence alone. Any goal we concede is our players not sticking to the “game plan”.

If he stuck around, maybe. Given how it's gone for him now that he's left, no chance. More chance of us going for someone like McCabe for the rookie route, or someone with some level of experience. I don't think he'll walk or be sacked either way so pretty much pointless.

Bartley was our defensive coach alongside assistant manager, since he's left we've been utterly pish at the back so he must know his stuff. Could just be a case of the quality of player he's asking to do certain things. I'd take him back in a heartbeat as a coach to sort our defence out.

Derek Adams is doing his utmost to create a relegation battle but Martindale has shown equal resolve to make sure we don't get one.

From full time against Hearts on January 2nd, Martindale should've decided on the 4-2-3-1 and an attempted return to the generally attacking football he'd favoured prior to last summer. That 3 week break and Turkey camp should've been used to rip up the last six months of shite and institute the new formation and style. I don't know what exactly was done at the camp, obviously, but I watched the Winterhur friendly in which we played a 3-4-2-1. We then began the Raith match in that same system. Which suggests to me the break was completely wasted just further reinforcing the 3-4-2-1 and the staccato playing style.

We did line up 4-2-3-1 for Dundee and County but it felt very improvised. Imagine instead that those teething problems we saw against Dundee and County (things like not knowing which way around to play Bradley and Stephen Kelly) had been ironed out during the three week break. We could've seen a Livi much more confident in what they were doing which might've prevented the defensive lapses.

Anyway, the change has now happened. Martindale was forced into it, kicking and screaming, and by injuries to centre backs but better late than never. Even if the tactical change doesn't lead to Premiership survival this season (it most likely won't), it's a much more suitable blueprint for next season. We'll want an attacking system and playing style in the Championship, aiming to win plenty of matches, so get working on it now.

In fairness, I'd imagine a big part of the gameplan would be...."Don't concede"

Ooft, that was a sickener tonight. Made some good chances. Super unlucky with the offside call. Also a lot tighter at the back with Donellan in there. The lack of quality in the finishing it obviously a problem given the position we are but we just have to dust ourselves down and go again. (What can the manager do about that? We aren’t able to attract a Van Veen.)

McInnes’ comments would seem to suggest Martindale outfoxed him in the first half. That’s twice recently we’ve competed well with the 4th place in the league.

Exactly, Martindale gets a lot of criticism, but Killie were meant to be down to their bare bones with injuries and can bring on players like Polworth, Kennedy, Van Veen, etc, their subs improved them in the 2nd half whereas ours didn't, bar Shinnie we looked weaker when the players that started went off. Killie have a lot more quality in squad depth. Still wasn't a lot in it but the Killie subs made the difference.

Why isn't Stephen Kelly starting games for you guys? Saw he didn't even get off the bench earlier. The lad was a baller for us and even last season when I watched Sportscene he seemed to be getting a few goals. From an outsider it seems bizarre to bench a creative player like him when you're struggling for goals/points

Until January we were using a 3-4-2-1 formation and Stephen Kelly was only being considered for a single position within it, the left-sided of the two attacking midfield slots. He was directly competing for that position with Nouble, who he was losing out to most weeks.

We've now switched to a 4-2-3-1. In that attacking midfield line of three, Kelly can play in both the central and the wide left position. So theoretically his chances of selection have now doubled and we can hope to see a lot more of him.

Also, we can't rule out off-field considerations affecting his selection. That can mean something like; he told Martindale last summer he's definitely leaving at the end of this season when his contract expires. Which would've taken away much of the incentive to play him as knowing he's leaving for free, he's no longer a potential asset to develop. This last bit is pure speculation from me, though. I've no idea of his contract intentions. I hope he wants to stay as he's an excellent player.

Would make sense but his contract expires next summer not this year. Would think after him getting player of the year last season that he would play as much / more this season so we can sell him for a fee this summer but it's very unlikely we will get much if anything for him now.
