R.R.FC
I would say so. He always said it would take 5 years from when it was first put in place for us to start reaping the rewards and getting a steady stream of talent from it.
grumswall
I was thinking about that. Why did we scrap that for the Fife elite thing? It looks like we had a decent enough setup.
Scary Bear
I was thinking about that. Why did we scrap that for the Fife elite thing? It looks like we had a decent enough setup. Probably financial reasons.
grumswall
Seems a bit daft when it's bearing fruit or at least promise to scrap it though?
Scary Bear
Seems a bit daft when it's bearing fruit or at least promise to scrap it though? Depends how much it was costing. Even when we were developing talent, they were getting sold for buttons. How much did we get from Hibs for that boy? We need to get on the blower to Falkirk, Accies and Dundee United and ask how you get a decent transfer fee for a player.
pantene pro-V
Just need to keep playing them, that's what Falkirk & Accies do.
AllanJM
Watch the YouTube documentary about the youth set up. They confirm on there that you have to be an elite level academy to play against the other elite teams. We couldn't afford to invest enough for an elite academy on our own so joined forces. If we hadn't our kids wouldn't have been able to play against anyone half decent.
bobbykdy
21 years ago today we played our first ever European tie against GI of the Faroes, off to a flier in a 4-0 win, halcyon days. Happy anniversary folks.
Hank Scorpio
Rovers are asking the fans on twitter what songs they want at half time again. Mind they did this last time and someone chose, and then someone decided to actually play fucking Runrig? Some boy replied to the tweet saying Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. Imagine you had free choice to choose literally any song in the history of music ever and you chose Snow Patrol. Our support clearly cannot be trusted to choose music, I'm baffled as to why we've been given a second chance.

Someone suggested Sunshine on Leith against Hibs because they thought it'd be funny.

1RonnieCoyle
The rovers board today announce reduced gate prices for the season ahead £15 for adults £5 for kids with a paying adult. lowest in the championship i believe. its what the fans have asked for so fair play to the board for listening. Only time will tell if we can get more folk in!
