I just ate two teaspoons of Princes Chicken & Ham paste from the jar as my work colleagues didn't think I would.

I actually quite like it as it takes me back to my school days - just don't look at the ingredients.

It is similar but I'm not looking for a pakora situation.

Just normal battered (large) mushrooms.

And good chips, not shitey kebab shop chips.

Fair point regarding the chips. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what the mushroom part of the supper is all about though.

Leave him. Hes trying to convince himself

The thing that gets me is, he walks into a chip shop, ignored all the fish, sausages, king ribs etc and said to the greasy 15 year old wrapping chips "Give me a Mushroom supper".

Seriously, its unforgivable, I'm thinking of putting him on ignore.

Further to the talk of soft boiled eggs I recommend Delia Smith's method from her 'how to cook book ,gifted to me from my mum when I went to University and still the best cookbook I own.

1 minute on a rolling boil and then remove from the heat cover the pan and leave for 6 minutes. 99 percent success rate.

She rambles on about timing it by singing verses of Onward Christian (toast)Soldiers but I find the stopwatch on my phone more reliable.

There is a great website called 'Delia Redacted'that has lots of her recipes with her unneccesary chuntering removed. I also recommend Nigel Slaters cookbooks, I find him cloying on television but his recipes tend to be excellent.
